@@jimmorrison4ever529😂 it’s alright.. i mean he is human so it won’t be perfect but reverb and layering the vocals is how you make a song sound full and big on just about every song recorded since the 70’s. i’m assuming you know that since it half seems you know what your talking about.. for a rock singer, dude was good. perfect? no. but indeed good enough 🤘🏻

@@e.k.izzle32 Reverb and layering vocals is often used as a cover up for singers like him that sing in their throat to, "jamming," music (unless you were Freddie Mercury). Granted, he kind of sounded like a goat using vibrato. Not something often used with Aretha, Whitney, Celine, Mariah, etc. They can/could actually sing. This guy sounds like my drunk dad, "jammin' out," to some music in the garage. I mean come on, even with the 80's style of reverb vocals Journey's Steve Perry could sing. Michael Bolton could sing. You're revealing to me less about your point, and more about your lack of music talent. Do you sound like this guy when you sing? Is that why you like his sound? lol...

@@argentum3919 Oh come on. This performance is full of flat and dodged notes. When he gets a high note it sounds rough. The long notes have no finesse. The struggle is audible throughout. If you can't hear any of this, you must really really love this band.
I'll admit that given how bad some lead singers from that era sounded live, 'embarrassing' may be an overstatement. But the lavish 'no autotune' praise being heaped on studio vocals that are obviously doctored merits counter-hyperbole. Just generally, the whole 'no autotune' thing is very silly. Pitch correction goes back fifty years. Autotune just made it very easy and ubiquitous.

My dear friend Paul Grupp engineered that song and several others on that album. At age 20, he was the youngest engineer Capitol Records ever hired. They flew him to Boston to record that album in Tom Scholz’ basement recording studio. He engineered a couple of songs, but another engineer recorded more of them and Paul’s acknowledgment got buried in the credits and he was barely credited for his contribution. Paul was a great guy and a musical genius. He passed away on March 16, 2022. I miss him very much. Thank you for featuring a track my friend set up and reorded on reel-to-reel tape in 1976.❤

@@garybrown1902 every professionally recorded song had a sound engineer in the 70s. Each voice and instrument was miked individually and recorded onto one track of a 24 track, 2 inch reel-to-reel tape. Then the recording engineer would mix all of those tracks, balancing the volume, adding reverberation, etc. whatever was needed for each track. They did this on a huge mixing board with channels that corresponded to each track on the tape. Nothing was digital. What was recorded onto that tape was real. Yes, the engineers mixed, and “blended,” all of the tracks so that the end result, which was then recorded onto 1 inch tape had a good, balanced result.

Bro never grew out of the 80s. Seriously, there are good artists, they're just not very popular because no one as unpopular as them can afford vocal classes.
If your problem is pitch correction, listen to Deftones and then tell me it's not important.
This singer lived back in a time when skill was the best thing you could have, and that's why you think musicians are worse when really back then not everyone had a chance.
If your problem is rap, RACIST
If your problem is pop, it's always been bad. Boston ain't pop.
Rock peaked a long time ago for good reason. Metal and pop were far too distinct compared to rock and all of it's 00--03-057 and "boots cats and" beats was just on a decline due to cliches.

@PIZZAdayisback If you don't like rap you're a racist? FUUUCK you. There is still some good music to be found today but rap ain't it. Rap isn't even really "black" music cause it isn't music at all. You want black music you start off with Mississippi Delta Blues, that became the Chicago Blues by artists like Howlin Wolf and Muddy Watters. THAT is black music and it is real, vibrant music. It inspired the British Invasion music scene as well as the Detroit MoTown sound. Rap? Rap is something else entirely and while there is rap/music fusion, rap in its pure form isn't music.
