Hey Holly, I have a question. I recently went through a loop for a Sr. AWS Sales Role and was told I was "inclined to hire" however the panel did not think I was senior enough for the role which I applied. The recruiter told me I would be in a "inlcined to hire" pool and would be fast tracked if a role came up in my area for the next year. How realistic is this?
Hello! Thanks for all the videos you are sharing. It is much appreciated. My question to you is how do we know the base salary of a position so that we can negotiate? Many a times, google does give different answers so we don't know how much the company is actually paying to their employees and accordingly how much we should negotiate.
Hey Holly - appreciate the videos. I interviewed for a Manager role, I have been working in lead roles for many years now and I found out only few days before my loop interview that it was a level5. I dont want to take a salary at l5 because I dont get anything more than my last salary, will I be able to somehow negotiate? I am 99% confident that I smashed the loop interview because I received compliments to all of them, especially my last one with the director. Just disappointed as I am interviewing somewhere else for salary that are 20k more than base salary at amazon.
Thank you for your wonderful insight. Am prepping for loop interviews and this information is invaluable. I thought I was prepped. Now I know I have a lot more work to do.
Hi Holly, Thanks for all your videos. It really helps a lot. I have a quick question, is it okay to ask the recruiter for a similar role which has higher compensation? If its okay, when should we ask this before the loop or after a positive outcome of loop interviews? Thanks! ❤
Hi Holly! Thank you so much for your video's they are giving me confidence as I approach "the loop". Most of this video seems to be focused on finance/money; this is important of course. In your experience is there any flexibility in other areas such as vacation time? Is it unheard of for a senior level resource to request (and get) an additional one or two weeks vacation as part of their offer? Money is of course nice but money is not the same as time off!
The free soda had me laughing. In my company, they were discussing letting people continue to telecommute after the pandemic, and people started asking if the company would pick up their internet. I woulda slapped them through the webex if I could. It’s like being given a car and complaining about paying for insurance or the gas. So short sighted.
Recruiter gave me an initial offer and he is saying that it is the best they can do. What should I do? How do I negotiate from this? The market highest range is higher than what is being to offered to me
Hahahaha I worked at msft and did that soda thing at my first interview a few years ago! Obv didn't get the job. But I'll be honest the soda and food thing is nice it's not just about comp it's about culture issues. I just reinterviewed with amzn and properly did it. I had to repress alot of my msft. Lol
You mentioned that the recruiter will never give you the best offer and that you talk more about this in the first or second video of the playlist, however, after watching those videos, I didn’t find that content at all.
Hi Holly. I've been watching your videos, thanks for them. One question, on the web there are many different ranges for salaries at AWS. Do you have more of a solid pay structure that you can direct me to so that I would be able to make a better counter offer and not blow my chances?

Hi Holly thank you for this video. I applied for a technical role at Amazon. I did not do too well on the technical part but they gave me an offer anyway; they will remove techincal from my title but I will get the same salary and level as the technical role I applied for. I did not negotiate anymore on this basis. Just wanted to hear your thoughts, did I do the right thing by accepting the first offer? I did not want to come across as greedy given the compromise that was given. (Also did not request for a relocation package because I have the option to work remote and I prefer to work remote in the initial year - If i do well in my job and decide to move near the office later on, can the relocation support be requested later on?) Hello Holly, I am curious if salary ranges for the same level and for the same type of role is going to be different and vary between countries. I know most of the information/tips on your channel apply mainly in the US market. Does Amazon (or any of its subsidiaries) have different budget depending on where you are located (North America/Europe/APAC...etc)?
Hi Holly! Thank you so much for this. Would like to know based on your expert opinion, what are the chances of successfully negotiating more money when someone has already given a lower number (by the time of application) than an employer is willing to pay (50% increase from original number)?

He's not supposed to be drinking that stuff anyway. That is generally THE worst thing you can put in your body. It amazes me how some people feel like they're so entitled to certain stuff. This guy REALLY demanded free food or soda from a company willing to bring him in for way more honorable or valuable means? He was willing to risk his career for some pop!?😳 WOW! Just wow!😂 Personally, I couldn't meet this person. I can't.😆 I mean is there a medical exemption for this that I don't know about? Don't tell me it's Coke-aine.

What are your thoughts on using RSUs that are about to vest at current employer to justify increase request?
It really depends on the employers because unless it's preIPO with a public date, the unvest RSU doesn't mean anything. I would advice that you do your research on what your worth in market rate as it's most accurate.
How would i know level for the job applying

Is someone allowed to negotiate an entry-level position?
Doesn't hurt to try :)
