Fantastic tutorial. I'm gonna work on a cobblestone road for Dickens Village. I never wanted to get into too much detail because of the mess, but this glue method for me is revolutionary. Can build it once, use it over and over.
Carl! Thank you for your videos they have been so helpful I’m starting my villages from scratch this year. Do you have a link for a video where you show how to cut out the stairs in some of your videos? I think I’ve just missed where you actually cut them out
Awesome-glad you’re enjoying the channel! Take a look at the Tools and Equipment video…I think I cover cutting basic steps in that one. ua-cam.com/video/r2GGg04KeB0/v-deo.html
No offense Carl but isn't it the opposite in real life. Road covered in snow and black tire tracks through it. Maybe two tape strips for tires tracks, snow the whole road, then peel the tape off?
You are absolutely correct! When I originally built my Christmas Lane display, I totally forgot about the roads-so at the end of the build I attempted to create some type of a snowy/icy look and this is what I came up with. If I were to do it again, I’d do it just the way you described!!
Beautiful technique and very helpful!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for another great tutorial. I can’t wait to try this out! I agree the realistic details make all difference.
You bet…glad you liked it!

Glad it was helpful!
Carl...Thanks for the details on the ice/snow road project. I was one of the ones asking about it and you delivered.
Matt…good deal, glad you liked it!!
Thank you so much Carl for sharing another great tutorial!
Absolutely!!
Thanks for sharing this clip and giving new ideas 💡 for our village projects. Take care as well, you and yours.
Thank you!!

Thank you!
Nice work as always . 1.05k subscribers wow keep it going.
Thank you!! I know…crazy right?
great idea on the tape. Looks like salt on a road.
Yeah…worked out really well. I like it!
Hi Carl, Great video! I use thin Cork sheets painted with blacks and grays for roads. You can even crack them by bending/breaking! You should try it.
Sounds good Bob. Where do you find the cork sheets?
Hobby Lobby has rolls of cork. Wal-Mart may have it as well.
What’s the name of the product again you used for the road? Love the idea. Very simple and all.
Thank you! It’s non-skid tape.
@@HalloweenVillagesbyCarl ok thank you.

I am using 1" thickness, would 1/4" be too thin for the sidewalks?
No…that should work just fine. Suggest you cut a small section just to see how it looks first though!
