- This demonstration shows how to free motion quilt an ornamental leaf design, reminiscent of Jacobean silk fabrics and embroidery.
Rather than show a quilt in the making, this sample is stitched on calico which is laid over a piece of thermal curtain lining, with the fluffy side on the inside.
The machine being used is a 1945 Singer 15K treadle - Навчання та стиль
Love, love, love this. Thank you for sharing Lizzie, T in Cleveland, ohio
These are sooo pretty! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! :)
Thanks for reply Lizzie. I get it now. I sometimes wonder if these fixed feed dogs could be made to adjust by filing the hole oval in the vertical plane.
You would need a spare feed dog to experiment.
Beginner here Lizzie. What are the feed dogs doing in this method ? Are you floating over them?
Hello Alex, The feed dogs on my machine do not drop, so I set the stitch length on zero. This means that the feed dogs still go up and down, but they do not pull the fabric along.. Have a look at this video, which shows how I set up my machine for free motion quilting.
