The first piece of the song is silky smooooth. Then the vocoder changes the vibe. A bit Jamaican inspo too. I like how the drums sounds so crisp and make a distinct echo or wait...lol that might be the keyboard!😂
The fact a band like The Voidz can play on such a mainstream American platform like Jimmy Fallon is a blessing. To give a real band with a creative sound an opportunity to put on a good show and performance to people who otherwise would never know about them! This is missing badly in 2024.
Julian and cher are probably the only artists I think can of that can truly get away with auto tune. Its not a crutch. Its genuinely their artistic expression and really does something for the song/music. ❤ How cool would that be! Lol cher and jules duet... be still my heart haha.
This song and performance are awesome ❤❤❤ what a creative and brilliant work, thanks to The Voidz tomorrow is today , thank to make me travelling so deep in my head 🙏🙏🙏
@@thejoevisuals AM at least has some iconic guitar riffs, which the new albums are completely devoid of. I'm a fan of their first two LP's and suck it & see, everything else is generally forgettable
What 60's song does this remind me of? The way he plays the guitar and the main melody reminds me of something from the 60's like from The Doors or...almost carnival like music but way cooler. ❤🤔
This song didn’t stand out to me on the album but I love it live. There’s a reggae influence I didn’t feel on the album listen. So happy people are still making amazing experimental music
nice old cowboy ciborg spiritual stuff from 2084
Nah, this is 2024 man. Julian makes this music now.

Good for u😊
Became a really big Strokes fan in the last year and i almost cant believe it took me this long to find The Voidz
Been a strokes fan for 20 years brother and welcome❤❤❤
take your time man. there's not enough voidz songs. no rush enjoy the ride
I liked this live version better than the original on the album. You can listen to every instrument with more clarity.
Tbh the mix on the album kinda buries the vocals and some quieter instruments in my opinion
@@danielb200 the production and mixing on the album is not good, all the songs sound better live.
All the actually new songs on the new album sound better live, whoever mixed them was either deaf or listening through their iphone
Yh they sound better live. Caught them at a show @ The Orpheum In LA this month.
the mix on the album is bloody awful
Making me feel things I haven't felt in a while. Longtime Strokes fan, this is hitting different.

I can imagine a 12 year old seeing this and being weirded out initially but lowkey liking it
My 12 year old self loves it.
that's the exact situation when i saw instant crush on tv for the first time as a kid
The first time I saw Julian Casablancas that’s what I felt
Me when they played alien crime lord
I was never weirded out I loved it from first listen dksnskdndmns 💖

It's likely cause Jimmy and Julian are friends, and Julian is a celebrity with the strokes such that the voidz get attention through him
@@droicut Exactly, goes to show the value of relationships, GENUINE ones, and not just for what someone can offer you!
Having a rich family always helped his bands grow in popularity independently of their quality and undergroundness
@@LeeMSF that's right... and people are talking about The Voidz as if it's Godspeed You! Black Emperor or something like that.

@3:39 one of the sickest guitar tones ive heard. it lives in my head now
I love this song! I'm so glad 'The Voidz' are back and doing live performances again! 😆😁🤩🔥✨
can't believe they played both of my favourite songs from their last album and also sounded SO MUCH BETTER LIVE
YES!
Both songs were played so wonderfully, always a pleasure seeing them slay. -Long live the voidZ-
The Voidz favourite band, unique creative sound music.. awesome Julian Casablancas 👍👍👍
I heard this on a metro bus in 2096, I'd been racking my brain for the lyrics for years. Finally found it!
I adore this peformance so so much! Its amazing.

the voidz not only open portals to the future but minds too

You mean portalz
The Voidz! Getting better album after album! Julian's voice is on point as well! He looks healthy.
Master class from The Voidz 🤯

The best part is that he’s done it for years using only analog methods instead of autotune.

This sounds better than the album. That guitar sounds delicious.
And Another Masterclass 🌀🌀
So fucking perfect

Some parts of the melody remind me of how most of the rock bands in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 sound ❤

my favourite reggae song
Probably that show's finest moment

Going through his Tranquility Hotel Casino and The Car phase
Those albums are terrible. I dont think Julian is going for that bougie piano lounge vibe
@@Hobinator17 Terrible? They were definitely growers but I wouldn’t consider those two albums terrible in any sense.
