I know exactly how you feel. I first heard this song two-ish years ago and listened to it non-stop. I still listen to it daily and the same feeling from two years ago HITS every time.
Literally millions of people know him for the strokes. The voidz isn’t as mainstream so he’ll have a niche audience, but trust me so many people recognize and appreciate Julian Casablancas
I agree. I’m just surprised they didn’t fuck up Julians mic like they do EVERY SINGLE TIME. It’s fucking Julian he is a lead man and he has 1 mic. Let’s make sure that fucker works please. If your reading this Julian which you aren’t I will fucking make sure your mic pumps with the correct volume and correct effects every single show or you can kick me right in my lips every time I don’t.
The more I listen to Julian's music, the more I'm impressed with him. The Strokes are obviously great. And as is Phrazes For The Young. But the fact that he can also write a song like this for another band, is just insane. This song has so many good elements, that it's just crazy. Well done Julian + The Voidz
Julian leaves me speechless he has 2 bands and always works with different artist in there bands so much lyrics to remember Julian you are truly special he is my favorite Musician
I respect Julian so much for having the balls to try and create a fresher sound. There's so much mediocre b.s. in the mainstream. I'm liking the new songs a lot. ...and hes still the coolest m'fer to walk on stage
MiamiACR dude the funny thing is he actually did write every part of is this it and room on fire... they helped around angles I think and tbh I think parts of his solo work are beaut
I don't dissagree though Matt Schultz of Cage The Elephant deserves recognition as well, ive literally never seen the guy phone it in and theyve played just about every fest I was at.
I've never heard of the Voidz so when it started my first thought was "this is the biggest ripoff of Strokes Ive ever heard".....and then I realized it was Julian singing....
EverydayJayday lol that reminds me of a time when my friend was playing music from Comedown Machine. I never listened to all of the songs because all of the songs I tried listening to were garbage. All I could think was "this sounds like an untalented band trying to imitate an early strokes song." Turns out it was actually them lmao
this performance is one of my favorites, everything is so perfect. julian’s voice sounds incredibly good. i hope more people will appreciate the voidz as a band and the members individually. all the love!
This certainly grew on me. Freaking roadtripped through the Appalachians with this album, and when I listen to it now, I feel this chill in the back of my head.
This song is just ..... omfg, any song this guy makes is just gold, cant stop listening to it, It's repeating in my head over and over again, Julian --> 21th century's Mozart. A genius...no question. At 3:31 even Jake (the bass player) is shaking his head like: "Daaamn Julian... we are SOO FUCKING GOOD." it's like he cant even believe it.
i just had a major accomplishment recently. i've been playing the strokes and the voidz for years at home, hoping my siblings would become fans as well. just a few weeks ago, i was surprised my brother played YOLO.
I gotta disagree with anyone saying this could be a "Strokes" song. This has Voidz signature all over. The management of two guitars with heavy guitar effects, the percussion lines, and the synths are more intricate than Stroke's songs. With that being said, the first two minutes of this song are reminiscent of the 80's a la The Cars and it's just awesome. Can't wait for the new record.
Homer Simpson I have to disagree. I think this is very reminiscent to the strokes. More like something that would've come out on comedown machine or on angles. Although yes I think the synth gives it the voidz sound. The distortions on the guitar aren't very different from some the strokes have used in the past. I'm not saying it sounds exactly like a strokes song but they definitely could be compared.

This performance seriously shows how great of a voice Julian has. His range on this song is absolutely insane and he sounds clear as crystal.

I know we all like to rag on Jimmy's chronic enthusiasm but I appreciated it here
chronic enthusiasm, what a great term haha. but I agree.
That's because he's actually genuinely stoked- he and Julian have been friends since the very beginning.
@@halifaxskater YES! Jimmy has supported Julian with the strokes, his solo career and now with the voidz.
@@blairlane5493 what do you mean?
To be fair, his job is to be chronically enthused
Legend has it that Mobil shirt is one of Julian's favorite shirts.
I saw him wearing that same shirt in Mexico lol
Andre Terrazas I think me and you went to the same concert, saw him wearing that shirt at coordenada festival internacional Guadalajara
Jafet Sanchez I wish I would of gone there but I saw him in Mexico City at a small venue !

Julian Casablancas is an impressive song writer. It's to bad he's not getting the recognition he deserves.
Because people would rather listen to repetitive songs about guns booty and fat stacks all over and over than this.
Literally millions of people know him for the strokes. The voidz isn’t as mainstream so he’ll have a niche audience, but trust me so many people recognize and appreciate Julian Casablancas
