I run two C85 Cormidis. We do high end residential landscape construction.
They are one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. 2 guys operating them can do the work of about 4-5 guys running wheel barrows.
They never get stuck. Can go through any terrain and up a hill steeper that you can walk up. They carry about a half yard of gravel, soil, or whatever else you can load into. Armour stone, logs, concrete, large trees (350cm evergreens with huge root balls)
We have the standard bucket cormidi and the fold down side cormidi. We use the fold down side cormidi to load on a 3/4 skid of brick to bring to backyard. A full skid is too heavy.
We use the bucket cormidi to mix bags of cement with a flat bucket on the mini excavators.
We don’t use the self loading cormidis. Too slow and awkward. We use Kubota U17 excavators to load them.
I highly recommend them. We have the older model. The newest model has some fantastic upgrades. Steeper dump angle, remote choke, fuel fill on outside of machine, upgraded air filter/engine.
Just because they are small doesn’t mean we don’t use them on larger projects. We take them to every project to help move any material. They literally have replaced wheel barrows for us.
Super simple to drive. The new guys can figure out how to operate them within a few minutes.

DeWalt chainsaws are legit, I have had three for 5 years and they are far more functional than my previous STHL gas. Especially handy on ladder work or when climbing on a tree when you can fire it up with the push of a button. Awesome tool updates!

  • @natielou143
    @natielou143 2 роки тому +3

My DeWalt chainsaw is very nice. It’s the first saw I start with for general property maintenance work. It’s stealthy compared to gas and is what I use for most medium trees to small branches. I use my Shindiawa 488 for the trunks. I really don’t want everyone to know I’m doing tree work. My 9 & 12 amp hr batteries work long enough to give me a good workout and are not heavy in the saw. It’s light and well balanced. The chain adjuster/bar retainer is very convenient. The bar is light weight, thin, and twists easily. It leaks oil. The battery compartment and contacts retain wood chips.

There's a pond company in BC, Canada who uses the Cormidi and they swear by it in comparison to a dingo just for strictly moving material. It scoops up and tips back into the bucket. The bucket apparently carries more than a dingo.

I have a dewalt chainsaw. Bought it because I already had some dewalt batteries and other power tools. Use it to clear fallen trees from trails. Works great, battery power holds up. I just think it uses too much oil but I have never been a fan of auto oilers having learned on manual oilers.

I've got a cormidi 1500, I wouldn't recommend them unless they fix a few problems.
fuel system syphons itself empty when its below half tank
less than 150 hrs and the drive motors had to rebuilt.
im on my 3rd throttle cable because the housing end sits vertical and collects water.
the unit swapping is a pain in the ass and is not nearly as quick as advertised
plastic coverings are very brittle and crack a lot.
motor mount bracket snapped and wrecked all the isolators so i took that to a fabricator
ridges on the rear engine cover makes for a good knee cap remover. (not kidding, hurt like hell)
rear platform is unsuspended and uncomfortable on a long day.
product support has been pretty slow and we cant get ahold of parts or service manuals.
most of these problems we have solved ourselves but it has taken many hours and lots of down time.
All that being said the machine preforms well and hauls a huge amount of material and the self loading and turreted unit is really handy on smaller jobs that eliminate the need for a loader.
from what ive herd from rental places that hat have the 85 its a much more reliable machine than the 1500

I've worked with DeWalt 60v chainsaws for 3 years now. The first one I bought still runs strong to this day. With a 9ah battery you get enough wood for a bonfire but not going to be building piles with it.
The problem started when I bought DCCS670 #2,3,4,5 they all would run perfect for a few days but they all ended up failing to motor burnout some in glorious smoke and flames and would leave us stranded cutting trails. This is not acceptable for a $400-$600 saw. A comparable Husqvarna or Stihl will work circled around this saw in any weather.
I have completly switched back to gas powered saws. Even with me missing my left arm and starting gas saws proves easier and less of a headache than the all plastic toy called chainsaw model DCCS670
I have circular saw, recip saw all drills and power tools DeWalt. Normally great stuff. But the 60v chainsaw is easy to keep by the door and chop a log slightly if it's too big for the stove. That's about it convienience if you have to make a cut or two. Or trim larger trees ( it does make great cutting power) when not on fire
I forgot to add that they leak bar oil so bad you have to store them on paper towels or it will drip and cover everything you own.

I really like those square barrels I could have used them today my very brand new crew could have loaded those up instead of putting the spoils on the surface that they were working on or in the street they could have loaded them up at least two wheelbarrows of material and with my little ditch witch ride on All purpose tractor I don't know what size it is because the stickers when we bought it we're gone but I saw a lot of the ride behind tractors in this expo and I'll tell you that little ditch witch machine may not have the power that those right on machines do but it has the mobility it gets into smaller places it doesn't need a lot of room to work it doesn't take a lot of trailer room and you can put all of its implements which we have a 8x10 enclosed trailer but I mostly carry it on the back of the dump trailer because I need to dump trailer more than I need the enclosed trailer but I liked those barrels square barrels thanks for showing them Stan Lee

I had the 12” until it was stolen. I cut down 8” trees with it. Made pruning and removing branches easy. It turns slow rely’s on torque to do most of the intense cutting. But I own the batteries and can’t afford a Milwaukee chainsaw to compare it to yet yes I own the Milwaukee batteries to. Dewalt is my woodworking tools and Milwaukee tools for automotive fun. Dewalt was giving away a battery with tool purchase during Covid so I bought a few and cheaper than Milwaukee!

All stated battery run time claims are tested under absolute perfect conditions. It sucks because people think they are going to get that run time normally. Fact is Ryobi probably tested this run time while clipping 1/16” off the top of the grass either going all down hill or absolute flat yard with a 100lb operator not charging your cellphone. That’s what manufactures do with battery electric claims.
