- AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER GOES LIVE ACTION! The series that started it all for this channel is returning, and this trailer looked FANTASTIC! We could NOT be more excited to see the Gaang return, and with the advances in technology, better casting, and episodic format rather than a movie, we can't WAIT to see what this series looks like!

My former theatre cast mate landed the role of Jet in the live action adaptation. Needless to say, I am so proud of where he is right now. 😊

This looks really good so far. It's actually showing respect for the source material, the cgi creatures look great, and the cast all seem to fit their characters. That Bumi scene was absolutely beautiful.
They look and act how they should. I wish I could say the same about the percy jackson series.

I’m pretty sure I remember reading the actress actually voiced June in the animated series
After only a couple lines, I am FULLY on board with Sokka and Zuko's actors. They sound SPOT-ON.
Until yk that sokka actor literally faked his race & ethnicity and he is a yt man not indigenous

my only issue with zuko is the eyebrow on his scarred side. other than that everything looks incredible so far
There's one character I am both excited and scared at the same time to see in this live-action series of Avatar TLA: Koh the Face Stealer. I mean... that scene from the animated series was already creepy enough... Now, can you imagine it in live-action? We will have Koh with his centipede-like body, crawling around, and changing faces as he blinks. Not to mention how Koh tries to cause Aang to make a facial expression. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised that, after being dragged by La into the Spirit World, Zhau would have his face taken by Koh as punishment for killing Tui.
Considering Koh is a fully CGI character - they can make him a full on giant centipede, and it's gonna be incredible
Zhao appears in the legend of korra book 2 and I think his punishment there way worse than getting his face stolen

For sure... In terms of physical appearance, she is the one that looks the most with her animated counterpart. It's almost unsettling how perfect the cast was for her.
I haven’t watched you guys for some time, but I remember when you guys were reacting to ATLA and LOK and I always loved watching you react to anything related to the Avatar universe!

Life's been crazy and I havent tuned in since LOK, but it's so nice to see how much you guys have grown and how elevated your setup is now.
My favorite part was like a very very split second where they show Aang airbending right after they show Jun and Heibai. The combination of the frame on a beat with the sound design and bending gave me chills.
Cant wait to watch this with you two!

I can't let myself get too excited since live actions almost always lose all of the charm and execution of what made the original great, but at least this version cared enough to let firebenders create fire and earthbenders to be able to move more than a pebble with the help of a group. So at least it's better than any other live action Avatar recreation so far. It's an extremely low bar to clear, but the show clears it so far.
Yea the whole losing its charm was something that had me especially worried about sokka, cause obvs that cartoon humor is pretty much impossible to translate to live action without looking ridiculous. But the way they handled that (at least in the trailer) by making it more of a sarcastic humor instead of goofy definitely works and makes me think/hope they actually know wt they’re doing

YES! I'm so excited. Been following y'all since you first started uploading ATLA reaction videos to tiktok.
I don't think it's even Omashu that we see briefly, I'm pretty sure it's the Northern Air temple because you can see the green glider used by the wheelchair kid fly down just before Aang.
I'm pretty sure their gonna set Tao and the Inventor in Omashu instead. If you look at the Omashu from the teaser and then look at that shot in this, it is the exact same city layout with the giant slides. It makes practical sense in live action to merge episodes into one location where possible to avoid travel whiplash for the viewers; given they only have 8 plus to work with, plus the sheer cost of everything was likely best put into making quality over quantity. But it does make me wonder how/if they are going to handle the internal anguish Aang is feeling over seeing time erode what few bits of his people and culture are left, since that was the main point of visiting the Northern Airtemple.🤔
Damn that trailer really gave me hope that this'll be badass 🔥🔥

But they are climbing it. Which is amazing by itself
I'm so excited for it, my bff hasn't even seen it and I told her we were going to binge the show and watch the live action together, I'm so happy they casted Arden Cho for June, she is going to be such a great version of her. I dont think they have picked the actress for Toph yet but it's okay she shows up a little later so I'm not going to rush them.

I would have normally been more skeptical of the show, especially after the og creators backed out. But, after watching the live action One Piece from Netflix and this trailer, I’m cautiously optimistic!

I encourage you to watch Avatar: Bringing the world to life, it’s basically gives information about the live action show and the cast, along with sneak peaks! It’s only about 4 minutes long and i think it’s worth while to watch, on camera or off camera either way

My cautious optimism remains intact. Visually it looks good, the casting is spot on thus far, and the tone/atmosphere appears to be a good combination too.
I still want to see full episodes and see how it all comes together before I make a final decision. I want this to be good, so fingers crossed.

I literally cried watching the trailer, after what they did with the movie, my only wish was for this to turn out well, and apparently they did! The show that marked my childhood and that has continued to mark my life as an adult finally has the live action version it deserves!

yeah this trailer is the first thing that has actually made me excited for the series after the original creators left the production a few years ago because of creative differences I pretty much gave up all hope for the series being good then the more that came out about it made me even less excited but this trailer actually looks good hopefully the show is too

2023 was a great year for adaptations, especially for Netflix (One Piece, Scott Pilgrim Blasts Off), so I feel like this series should be in good hands.

Personally, my favorite part was seeing those heartwarming/funny scenes of the gaang. It lets me know that they’re keeping the essence of what made the animated series so great ❤

oh mannn miss your reactions haha the shows you've been reacting so far are mostly shows i have not watched. i do want to try watching your gravity falls reactions but maybe some day, still not in the mood for gravity falls rewatch lol (not that i hate the show, there's just some shows i am not as hyped in seeing again)
My only little complaint with the trailer is that Zuko's scar didn't really do it for me. It just looked like someone punched him in the face and gave him a shiner. Perhaps a little more special effects makeup could be added to make it look more like a severe burn wound, more like in the face reveal of Anakin as Vader in the Kenobi series (or something like that).
That's pretty much it though. Everything else pretty much seemed perfect and I'm now really excited to see how they handle the series.
(especially the bending - so SO much better than in that one movie)
(Remember when it took an entire troupe of earthbenders aggressively breakdancing for several minutes just to move a small rock several feet? Pepperidge Farm remembers. But now we have THIS!? I'm seriously hyped for this now!)

My takeaway from that trailer was that they _actually watched the show_ . Like, those were beats they went out of their way to hit. _Especially_ the bending. Trying to be the anti-Shyamalan out of the gate.
