Who else is searching for tons of videos like these because they're cruising soon???
me!!!
Yeas lol
Yes me
I been to Nassau so many times. I just want to try different excursions
Me and my wife just took a Tall Ship cruise on the Liberty Clipper that started and ended in Nassau. We are pretty adventurous when it comes to travel and always try to get away from the typical tourist areas. We came in a day early and stayed at the Marriot just across the street from Junkanoo Beach. We didn't venture too far from the harbor an downtown area but with the exception of some of the craze drivers we didn't feel unsafe. We are more into historical sites so we really enjoyed going to places like Ft Charlotte and Ft Fincastle. The Green Parrot bar and restaurant at the Bay street marina is excellent and a lot more quiet than some of the restaurants in the tourist areas. If you like small craft breweries the Rip Ty'd brewery was great. When we got off the boat at the end of our cruise we had half a day to kill before our flight and walked down to Ft Montagu and Montagu beach on the east end of the harbor. Its a bit of a hike but the beach was much less crowded
Sharon, thanks so much for this video. It has been super helpful in planning for our cruise vacation.
Lot’s of great ideas. Thank you.
Great Idea with the hotel, I wish I knew before my Cruise. Good for the Future. Thank You
Great tips for nassau! We try to find new things to do everytime! Thanks for the info!
Loved the Bahamas. Never felt unsafe. Really...everywhere you go you should be aware of your surroundings!!!! Very nice people. The Rum Factory, Chocolate tour, Distillery , Queen’s Staircase tours. I was there for 5 days. There is a lot to do besides lay on the beach and get tanned.
Thank you. Will be there in October, 2020
Thanks for the advice. My husband and I are going back there in September.
I love this super informative series! Thanks for giving some of the highlights for what to do in Nassau. I especially liked the one about getting the Atlantis tickets through Comfort Suites...that's what I would do if we went to Nassau! Unfortunately none of our upcoming cruises stop there. We will be looking for this on future cruises, for sure! Thanks Sharon at Sea!! ❤️
Thanks for sharing this info!!
Thanks Sharon for the tips on what to do in Nassau.
This was such an informative video to watch. I'm gonna save this video for the next cruise we take to Nassau.
Great....I'm glad it was helpful.
We simply walk to Junkanoo Beach, its a 15 minute walk, throw our towels on the sand and go in the water for 2/3 hours and back to the boat! The sand may have a little garbage (hey its free), but the water is refreshing and clean. Safe walk and free!!
Great video very informative!! Could you make a more recent one if you’ve been here in more recent times would make for an awesome video 👍
i'm going in 5 days. hyped.
I never comment on videos, but this video was EXCEPTIONAL!! Thank you! Subscribed!
Thank you!!!
I love this video because like you pointed out, there really are many many things to do in Nassau. It's just that so many people are unaware when they cruise in for a few hours. I think a stopover is best to discover a place but that's only my preference
We did Ardastra Garden and City Tour!! I loved it!! Wish I had the kiddos.... they would have loved it as well. The tour stopped at a little market and then drop off was right outside the port. We also fed the parrots, hubs held a snake... so hands on. It was beautiful there too.
In 2017 we went to Nassau and bought the Blue Lagoon beach day excursion. Now the place itself was beautiful but key in the time it takes from the excursion boat to the private island (30mins there and back from port), once you arrive there they tell you " ok last boat to the port leaves in ...." Which doesn't give you enough time to relax. We had once we got there about 2 hours to relax before the last boat left for port. Which was a bummer in itself. We're going back to Nassau twice with our 15 day cruise in October, with no excursions booked so we'll see how that defers from booked excursions to on your own.
We just came back from a cruise on Royal Caribbean. We did a awesome dolphin encounter, but on the way back to the ship, we actually ran into barriers warning us about going into Nassau! It literally said this was a dangerous are and not to enter the area. It was a corridor back to the ship. We decided to follow their guidelines.
Thanks for the video. We are going to Nassau in Oct and are looking for things to do. I really want to swim with the pigs in Exuma.
My family and I went on our first cruise and visited Cabbage beach it very nice and great wave . Yes the vendor are very pushy but overall great time .
I have not been to the island since 2011 it looks very different in town alot more buildings have gone up would love to visit and maybe stay next time:)
John Whatlings Rum Distillery is a good place to go, also. We've been there 3 times. But take a cab, don't walk.
We stopped at Nassau in 2013 and had a great time! Yes we got through the vendors at the port but once passed that area it was glorious. We did research prior to the trip and found that if we go to some of the resorts a little further out, the cost of the day passes were VERY reasonable (like $40 inc lunch). We took the local bus called a Jitney for like $2 each and the driver told us were to get fresh conch and unlimited rum punch along the way! Tips: have small bills, be aware, be smart, BE COURTEOUS-remember, you're a guest.
What was the names of the other hotels to get day passes we will be there in april
If you like scuba, Stuart Cove is a great place to go diving. Lots of choices of what to dive, wrecks, sharks, movie sites. Also, the brewery "Pirate Republic" is a great place for beers, right outside the port where we dock.
I went to Nassau for the first time in March. We booked an all inclusive resort for a day at the Hilton British Colonial and we loved it. It was about a 15 minute walk from the port. But we had to walk pass the pushy shop owners so beware of that.
I have never felt unsafe in Nassau.
Same, but have definitely felt that there wasn't much (unique) to do on a budget or free especially after visiting a few times in the past
I have never felt unsafe in Nassau. Not a lot of things to do, but the hotel beaches are a great option.
I have been going to Nassau for over 20 years I have been all over the island and never had any trouble the people have always treated my wife and I with respect and always helpful as soon as this virus is over will be going back we can’t wait
You forgot to mention the rum cake factory tours and rum distillery
Sharon, at the colonial Hilton hotel with the day pass are there restrooms available that offer a place to change clothes?
I ᒪIᐯE Iᑎ ᑎᗩᔕᔕᗩᑌ!
Sharon how do i geat the tickets with hotel stay i try calling reservations and they said no tick are included.kn the stay
Wish you had mention some land excursions instead of water ones.
I'm planning for later this year around thanks giving in cruise..But the choice hotel website mentions, Same day 1 night bookings will not have access to Atlantis amenities. Please clarify
Hi vbaskar77..looks like this video is from 3 years ago, so maybe asomething has changed with Choice Hotels and what is included. Thanks for watching!!
@@SharonatSeaTravel Thanks Very much for the update...
How much is the hotel for 1 night?
I just looked..$216 for day I'll be there...a bit pricey to get there
That's every where these days.
Are there any beaches for people in wheelchair
We will be there on my 50th birthday. I am thinking of going on a long run. Do you think it is safe to do?
When I listen to these "tour advisors", all they promote is fear. If the Caribbean had located off the coast of Hawaii, instead of the South of Florida, chances are, you wouldn't hear this kind of safety assurance because the local inhabitants would probably be more white people. Furthermore, I don't know any city in North America I can randomly walk around and feel safe, especially in a city I'm visiting for the first time. This lady let Nassau sound like the most dangerous place with thugs and pirates that will snatched you of the street in broad daylight. Listen, if the Port of Nassau average 3-5 cruise ships a day, that must be some confidence these tour operators have with the port, else they wouldn't recommend it to passengers knowing that people lives are at stake. so before you judge people country, please take a look at yours.
Mr. Francis...this video is promoting Nassau excursions to people that might have safety concerns, it's not prmoting fear. Thanks for watching.
@@SharonatSeaTravel did you have any tips on which excursions are "dangerous" or "unsafe"?
Grand Turk is highly overrated, I hope we get rerouted to Nassau
I like Grand Turk better than Nassau.
Every place has unsafe places. Maybe you feel unsafe because you feel out of place.
I think the idea of cruising in general gets a bad rap. You disembark on an unknown island every other day to see the different sights and sounds, while trying to have a personal experience that suit your taste.
And to make it tougher you usually only have a few hours to do so
TOO MUCH VIDEO J U M P I N G (GETTING US DIZZY)!!!!
We will not get off of the cruise ship if the ship ports in the Bahamas. The locals are very rude and they get mad if you do not buy anything.
