Just a fun couple of hours recorded of me starting an AMIGO only project in Logic X! I left the edit quite loose to so people can see more of the full workflow. I've also lined up the recording of part 2 for tomorrow so look out for that sometimes next week :) Thanks to my all Patreon for voting these video in. Mastering the Keyboard Workflow in Renoise

This one has been long overdue & it feels great to revisit the first topic I ever posted about Renoise! This is all of my workflow tips on the most essential keyboard shortcuts in Renoise. Even though I think this topic is incredibly important, I know its not the most exciting for everyone (especially non renoise users) so I will be back next week with some jungle in Amigo to flip things up. 🚀 ...

This was going to be more or a deep dive sort of breakdown but I ran out of steam a little with this series! I love doing the animations & themes but they certainly take a hot minute. For this video, I decided to go over my favourite two techniques I used to make the track. I especially love the pitch bending way to make effects ✨. Big love to all my Patreon supporters.❤️ I've got a few patches...

Wow, this was one of those project where I really pushed to the max. I’ve always been interested in trying to gamify the learning process of making music. With the help of Midjourney Ai images and Runway AI clips I’m starting to get pretty close to my vision for the videos. I think I need to work on my scripting a little better to help the story really flow but I hope everyone still enjoyed the...
Making 90s Jungle Track Inspired by Unreal Tournament

This was super fun to put together and it feels great to be back diving into exciting theme likes this. I love being creative with the images, backgrounds & animations alongside all the music production! This project simply started by me just hitting record on the camera and seeing what turned out. It quite quickly developed into fully themed Unreal Tournament Soundtrack tribute video! 🪐 I ende...

Hello everyone, hope your all well and enjoying the last of the summer sun this side of the hemisphere! 🌎 This is a track i’ve made in tribute to the iconic Unreal Tournament soundtrack. For It blends old-school style breaks with slightly cheesy sci-fi vibes. 🔭 In particular, i’ve referenced ‘Foregone Destruction’ which is the background track for the map Facing Worlds. ua-cam.com/video/eEcPakW...

I recently took a little time away to enjoy the last of the summer sun in the UK and headed off to Wales with a few family and friends! Super useful! Thanks!
👍 V Good
wow, the mono + 1> toggle is the setting combination I've been looking for, for years. makes breaks programming sound far more natural and offers use to slices beyond single sounds.
Fantastic video 🎉
The finished track is like '95 Bukem ... in the best way.
would you recommend going back to Renoise or use amigo and a normal sequencer like ableton cubase logic?
I would say Amigo works great in Logic & Renoise. No real preference there. I love Renoise and find it super creative and fun to work with but most people get on better with more traditional DAWs like Logic/Ableton. :)
@@groovining aye thanks
Would want 1, but already got a Maschine plus which I think is superior but the digitakt has some special tricks up it’s sleeve. M+ is 100€ cheaper atm too…
I have a maschine mk3 and think it is great, bit easier to work with in some aspects. The Digitakt mk1 & 2 are super creative and often take you in very different directions from MPC/Maschine type samplers. Both are great, just depends what your after :)
I forgot to tell you. You don't need to add silence to the end of the samples for Akai. Just set the sample playback TO END. Takes one click of work -as long as Keygroup is set to ed:ALL . :)
I'll have to double check this but i'm sure I tested everything i could think of to make the samples play properly. I could actually hear that the hits were slightly gated when demoing them in the edit sample section so i'm sure it has something to do with the way Transfer 7 or the way my Akai is working. Other people have talked about this happening online so i'm not alone I think in this. Cheers! :)
Does it include all the samples heard in this video?
@@stcdnb yes! :) apart from a few sfx like the spaceship landing etc
In your workflow, what do you personally do to “deselect?” Once a selection is made, it seems like a mouse click is the only way to deselect. As far as I can tell, there are no shortcuts or tools for this. That seems so strange. Thank you.
I found a solution. The “playback loop selection” tool adds an “unmark selection” shortcut option.
Yea I get I use shift + right arrow a lot to make a selection per line. Other than that, i don’t often need to deselect unless I’m making a new selection if that makes sense.
Glad you found a solution :)
@@groovining thanks for the reply, I appreciate it bro
Just picked it up there, still haven't gotten around to properly diving into the Aquatic Dreams pack but always happy to support the channel. Keep up the awesome work man
Cheers Legend! Thanks so much for the support :) I use the phasey crashes from Aquatic Dreams all the time. Put them in Reverse with a 1/8d delay and they work a treat! Also the pads in Planet Jungle are some of my best yet ❤🌴
@@groovining Happy to help out! This channel is an absolute goldmine for a beginner so I'm doing my bit to make sure it keeps going! Really need to set aside some time for some regular practice sessions, currently juggling synthwave production with learning some jazz standards, need to squeeze time in for some jungle/dnb!
Appreciate that mate. Yea it's all about consistently practising but it's hard to put it all together. Doing all this UA-cam stuff actually really helped me focus on specific projects and pushing them to completion before moving onto the next thing. I can't do the juggling lots of things so well! :)
Aquadic
Haha i realised this mistake too late! Good artist name
really good video about it
Cheers mate - great plugin. 2.0 update is great also :)
@@groovining yeah just bought it yesterday ty
I really enjoyed this because you cut straight to the chase and explained some actually useful things - unlike most music gear videos which are overproduced and filled with info you already knew from google. kudos +1 subscriber!
Thanks mate. Yea i'm much more into the techniques side of things than just reviewing equipment. Actually doing a new Digitakt mk2 vid coming soon. Can't wait for the manual slices update if that ever comes! ✌️
Man, love ur channel and those super interesting breakdowns, thank you
Thanks bro! Appreciate it :) I need to do some more of these breakdowns in the future
Great video!! I'm on the fence to sell my OG DT to upgrade too, and probably will. Oh, and a question: ¿how did you make the Keystep get power and send midi to the DT? I can't do that with mine, only get power from usb but midi still via 5 pin cable. Thank you!!
@@TontoRandom both the key step and Digitakt send midi via usb. I route through an app called midi pipe. Or just use a DAW and route that way but I find midi pipe easier if I just want to focus on the Digitakt
@@groovining Oh, ok, so you're routing the Keystep! I thought it was direct from Keystep to DT. Thanks for the answer.
Yea everything is routed via USB midi :)
@@groovining Thank you. BTW, finally, i updated my OG DT to DT2 and man, it's wonderful, specially the improvements on the workflow side. Thanks for the video.
Woop! Wasn't able to catch it live but happy to catch the replay (and the twin one with Human Synthetics!)
Cheers Mick! This was a very last minute one but always a fun time to go live with Alex. Lots more like this to come :) ✌️
Yeah man 😄 supermassive is a must. Such a great plugin
Supermassive is fire. Love when companies give you amazing free plugs like that. 😊🚀
Verrrryy niceee videeoooo thank you !!
Glad you enjoyed this one mate :) ❤️
could it be used as a looper/sampler with live dj setup as performance sampler ?
I would say yes but not as well as the Octatrack. An MPC or SP404 MK2 might be an easier workflow for that kind of thing. The Digitakt is an amazing creative production/sound design tool which is great for performance but it would be a lot alongside also DJing. You'd have to know it inside and out.
can you do this in bitwig instead of logic ?
I sadly am a Logic X and Renoise producer and haven't got much experience with Ableton/bitwig etc even though they're both killer DAWs atm :) ✌️
I love your music and your videos man!
Cheers bro - means a lot. Thanks for the support :) ❤️
huge fan of your work man keep it up!
Nice tunes bro! Love that jazzy, laidback hip-hop style ;)
Love your channel
thanks mate - appreciate that :) ✌️
West side
is the best ✌️
Any good controllers that work with this system?
Any midi controller with work well but its really a keyboard centric program. You can do almost everything with keyboard hotkey without touching the mouse. ⌨️
Really loving the channel G.So much valuable info. Would live to know where you go to get your samples as it's a minefield out there.
I get my samples from all over really. Tracklib, UA-cam (lots) Record stores, Sample CD, Lots of custom sound design and my sample packs. 💎 I go over it all in this vid :) ua-cam.com/video/J3eNqdfUla0/v-deo.html No pressure of course but if your interested I also give out a custom sample pack each month to my 10£ tier Patreons with loads of unique chops, loops, breaks, fx etc www.patreon.com/c/groovining/membership
dam that was dope
Thanks Hellboy! New Update to Logic X is fire now with the plugin search :)

Thanks mate :)
Such bounce on this. Love it!
Blame, late 90s Logical progression pre-720 vibes
Cheers bro! That's the style i'm mad into atm 😊
I’m feeling that one buddy. Top work 👌🏼
Thanks Chris! Ye I like the straight grooves every now and again. Marcus Intalex was one of my absolute favourites. RIP ✌️
have been watching your videos for a while your, brilliant content🙌. props! would be great to see you do a 140 jungle choppage in ableton amigo only in the future
Thanks mate! I don't actually use ableton much at all but am very intrested in doing some more 140 jungle/breaks stuff. It's a dope BPM and style I would love to showcase on the channel :) ✌️
This track is amazing!! Fantastic job and great showing off all Amigo can do!
Cheers Troy! Yea it's the kind of plugin that has such a simple UI but almost everything is work modulating in the right moment. Hope your well dude - Nearly christmas now I can't believe it. And so much to do! ✌️ :)
True MAN, Amigo plugin is so good that I use it all the time in my new productions. But... now... I am in love with TeensyROM cartridge. If U know about Commodore 64, the old, retro personal computer, U should know about new MIDI interface made by Travis Smith, which changes C64 to be as a synthesizer! Connect Your C64 to a DAW and play Your oryginal hardware SID chip :)
Wow that sounds super intresting. Thanks for the info! I don't actually know that much about commondore 64 as I know once I start looking in, I'm going to be tempted to by one and dive down that rabbit hole. :)
@@groovining To make a C64 to be a synt U have to get... not cheap a VST plugin, chipsynth c64. Today is, the 1st time plogue made a BlackFriday discount: 50% off. Just took my copy today!
Bro bringing back og 90s jungle with this tune 🔥
Were going back! :) 🚀
Always get hyped when I get a notification that another amigo video has dropped🔥🔥🇬🇧 I've had more fun and results with this ,£10 plugin than any other that I have 😊...thanks for another 🔥video
I agree for sure! I've been loving it recently. Especially all that ailising noise gives so much character when used responsibly :)
Excellent!
Cheers Cereal! Amigo 2.0 is dope :)
Thanks for posting! This was very insightful!
Cheers Michael! Been having loads of fun messing with Amigo at the moment :)
I've been a Renoise user since 2002. The quality of your information about Renoise is fantastic. I'd like to add that creating unique sounds using one-cycle samples in combination with its filters, modulation. effects, and phrases is unparalleled. No other DAW comes close in this area. Additionally, the quality of all its audio effects is top-notch. Personally, I haven't used plugins in years and rarely open other DAWs anymore. Renoise forever!
Thanks mate. Thats a good old amount of time with Renoise - I'm only on my 8/9 year i think :) Yea thats a really good point, Renoise works a little bit like a synth in that way and you can be so creative in the way you manipulate the program. It certainly a niche way of producing music but once you get the workflow down its really amazing. Renoise Forever!
Great tutorial 🫡
Cheers bro! :) ✌️
Nice visuals and illustrations in the video
Thanks mate, I love adding the little touches with the animations and effects. :)
Hey man. Been a fan of your channel for a minute. Are you releasing any of your stuff? I’d love to play it. Let me know.
Cheers bro. Yea I’ve got lots of stuff to get out and is something I need to tackle more next year. Just been focusing on UA-cam/Patreon a lot at the moment but the tunes are coming. Would be so dope to have people playing out my tunes! ✌️
Love seeing your process 🙌🏼 Stoked for part three!
Cheers bro. Just uploaded part 3 yesterday! :)
Love this channel, amazing content.
Appreciate that mate. Big ups! ❤️
Incredible ingenuity here, so very brilliant and changed everything for me just like everyone else. Finally the bridge for Maschine into Logic solved, why did they make this so hard LOL!
Thanks mate. Glad you’ve found this so useful. Yea I know seems like quite a mental workflow to have to follow to get it to all work right but once you’ve got the template set up it’s not too bad in the future! ✌️
@@groovining I've returned to watching this many times and referred it to others! I'm now in the process of updating it for Maschine 3.0 I couldn't swap out 2.0 for 3.0 manually without breaking it so I'll need to import it like you mentioned which I haven't done just yet. That'll be the final step for me since I already built it separately from my existing template that still has 2.0. Going over it again I learned a lot more that I overlooked the first time setting it up, you really created a gift of a workflow that I can't stress enough you've solved the riddle for Logic and Maschine pure excellence brother thanks again!
So happy to help here mate! Thanks for the comment. Good luck with your Maschine/Logic workflow ✌️❤️
awesome as per💯
Cheers mate. Amigo 2.0 is wicked!
Mr Bean loves his drum 'n bass too :)
He certainly does! :)
Love just watching the process and workflow. Really nice seeing you develop ideas too, although keeping up with your brain is hard work! Love the videos dude. As a mid-forties junglist trying to make beats in my spare time, they really are appreciated! 😊
