Your new tier is the best. I'm hoping Roga finally figured it out and can maintain 8-10 wins until he hits the joi. At least, my kachi klash is counting on it! Good thing its just for fun... (I had to pick the sumo foods guys, I have Nabatame in Juryo Jollies, sooooooooo)
Even drinking the Kool-Aid, I just can't imagine that Shishi wouldn't get smacked around horribly and end up being yeet meat right back down to Juryo. His skill set is getting better, but he sure isn't ready for top tier.
His technique got so much better this last basho vs any other I'm hoping the change is real. But his first taste of makuuchi is likely to be a disaster, but I think he'll fight his way back up and become a mainstay. He's so big and strong, that alone will net him a few wins.
Big fan of Shishi thanks to Chris Sumo, but my gut tells me this will be a rough Makuuchi debut for the young lion. Hoping for the best both for him and Asakoryu.
Oho seems like he might missed his sanyaku shot here for a bit... this JOI seems like the hardiest we've had in a goooood while and add that to him having a giant x marks the spot on his busted face this basho (kudos to him for sticking it out last time though O_O) - it seems likely he'll have a rough go this round. Also bummed out about Hira because of it: he missed the KK last basho by an inch with half the ozeki having a bad one, and now as m1 he's probably likely for just as rough a schedule while the sanyaku boys are rebounding and a tougher JOI abound.... really hope he pulls through but wouldnt bank on it thx for content as usual!
Funnily enough not true, hasn't been for a while, like appabends channels newest video of writing this has a simple example of how they broke it again until they reset it(video isnt called anything like that, just a funny note from him and why he uses bing) It has not been based on your history for a long while, yes it affects it byt by how much is anyones guess
Hoshoryu has 17 winning records in a row, a yusho win to his name, and beat kotozakura in the last 2 basho. Hoshoryu also has been working on his tachi-ai and looked very strong on the sumo tour. Hoshoryu low end will get 10 wins, and I predict he will be in the yusho race with a 13-2 record.
I was also surprised at Hoshoryu being that low. He has his inconsistency to fix but you're not getting off my mind that he's the most skilled rikishi we have now and one of the most talented (probably now surpassed by Onosato in terms of pure talent). I can bet that when he is able to be consistent, he will be Yokozuna.
And the question then becomes, when will the consistency appear? I'm not dismissing the chance of him hitting ten wins, but he's gotta keep working to stay ahead of the curve and it continually looks like everyone else is catching him bit by bit.
@JackfruitMistletoe if he starts 2 and 3 that means he will finish 11-4 knowing him. Always does great but he needs to step up his game just a bit and he will win yusho after yusho
If he's going to win the yusho he needs to stop trying to throw everyone in the first 5-6 days. If he focused on just winning, rather than having to do it with a perfect preferred throw and giving away predictably avoidable losses, he could win. But it seems like a vanity project where if he ever gets a 15-0 yusho it'd have to be with 15 throws.
From what I've heard Shonannoumi is struggling with hyperthyroidism, one of its symptoms being muscle weakness. It would explain his weird inconsistent performances.
I’m gonna list some controversial predictions below. 1- Onosato has a loosing tournament. His Ozeki debut and he caught a cold leading up to Nov. I predict 5-10 or injury pullout. 2- takerufuji less than double digit winning record. 8-7 or injury pull out. 3- Oho 10-5. Oho will be fired up from not hitting sanyaku and will know if he hits it this time he can’t be denied. 4- wakamotoharu - loosing record and dumps out of Sanyaku 5- wakatakakage - yusho. I’ll revisit this and see if it ages well after the basho. lol.
Some real spice here! Oho going 10-5 would be a hell of a thing, but to be clear, 8-7 will be enough to put him in the sanyaku no matter what happens anywhere else. M1e is treated as a must-promote position for anyone who has a winning record.
@ yeah in hindsight 10-5 may be a looooong shot especially when you consider the short turnaround from the eye socket fracture too. But hey. I’ll stick with it!
would love the designs on SHIRTS! please do shirts! preferably done in ink (can be screen printed, heat-transfered, etc) and not the heat transfer vinyl that everyone uses. big vinyl designs tend to crack with age, whereas ink designs usually dont. also depending on the like thickness of the vinyl, it can feel weird and rough when wearing it. vinyl ruins shirts that are supposed to be soft and comfortable. id gladly pay a bit more to have an ink printed shirt
My prediction: Kirishima gets 13 so promoted to Ozeki. Wakamotoharu gets KK Daieisho and Shodai gets MK Oho and Hiradoumi get MK or scrape 8-7 Wakatakakage gets 11 or 12 The result being that Wakamotoharu and Wakatakakage get promoted to Sekiwake, and are henceforth known as the Sekiwakas
Honestly, I would have put Shodai in the WTF? category, because he's Shodai, Lord of Chaos but also Shodai the Sleepy Otter. One never knows which Shodai will show up on any given day, except when there is a fat stack of envelopes. Then the Lord of Chaos is guaranteed to show up. Shodai could go 11-4 or 4-11. Who knows?
To be perfectly honest, putting Shodai in WTF-land after all these tournaments making some kind of guess but griping about his consistency feels like giving up. For the Dark Lord, I must continue to make real predictions.
With Shonannoumi it is a matter of form and health/fitness, with Nishikigi it is simply a matter of self-confidence - when he is self-confident, he is very strong. Since he had a good tournament in September, Nishikigi is A tier for me. I don't understand the rankings of Meisei and especially Hokotufuji. Meisei looked so poor in September, and Hokotufuji has been looking poor for several tournaments. No clue why you put them in A tier. Hiradoumi is also A tier for me, would have been promoted to Sekiwake and wasn't just because of space 2 tournaments ago - great fighting spirit and performs well almost every tournament. Also Wakatakage - he is clearly much better than before his injury, very safe bet for 8+. Anyway, in the end everything is subjective, and thanks for the very nice video (although you should not use memes just for the sake of having them).
I cannot get over Asakoryu's physique. He looks like he has dwarfism, except he's regular height. And has there ever been so much agreement on the non-Yokozuna favourites for a tournament as there is with Onosato and Takerufuji this time round? Can't wait for the basho to start.
To be fair, there was a ton of hype for Asanoyama when he came back. I don't think it was quite as high because he was an ex-ozeki, whereas Takerufuji is exciting because it feels like we've hardly scratched the surface for what he can do. But injured stars always have huge expectations like this.
Apparently Shonan has some kind of a thyroid disease, and Nishikigi has hinted that he is a heavy drinker. Maybe they are both struggling with on-and-off health problems that aren't "injuries" as such.
Bear in mind, they're being gauged against the wrestlers around them, and Wakamotoharu has far tougher competition. Onokatsu at komusubi might win two fights, and Wakamotoharu at M15 would be a nearly guaranteed title contender.
Shodai should be a permanent resident of the Who Fking Knows tier.

WFK tier took me by surprise, haha :D! Top-notch icon there as well. Thanks for the video, I’m always looking forward to these.
That Google result is 100% based on your search history, which makes it funnier :)

Hey Spiffy, great to see your video once again!
From what I've heard Shonannoumi is struggling with hyperthyroidism, one of its symptoms being muscle weakness. It would explain his weird inconsistent performances.
That would, in fact, make a ton of sense. Wish I'd known that, but on the other hand, it makes this his perfect tier.
Never underestimate the Dark Lord.
I’m gonna list some controversial predictions below.

@@sumospiffysbarandgrill well. My prediction didn’t age well….. 😅

According to Printful, they use ink printing for their shirts. I hadn't even checked, but I definitely prefer ink printing, so I'm all for that.
Ita gonna be good !! TY Spiffy as always
i picked tobizaru for kachiclash, ura at m5e with 7.25 sanyaku had a 9-6 so im expecting 9 or 10 wins from tobi
Great video ❤
My prediction:
Kirishima gets 13 so promoted to Ozeki.
Wakamotoharu gets KK
Daieisho and Shodai gets MK

Hell yeah!

Shodai has never been the same since covid

Even when Ura loses, he still has a good tournament, most of his fights are the best that day.
This new sorting method makes harder to search certain rikishi during draft. Good videos though!
I enjoyed the "Who Fucking Knows" tier
Oh common, Onokatsu and Wakamotoharu in same tier? Maybe one bad injury for Wakamotoharu or 5+ bashos worth of experience for Onokatsu. Today? No.
Bear in mind, they're being gauged against the wrestlers around them, and Wakamotoharu has far tougher competition. Onokatsu at komusubi might win two fights, and Wakamotoharu at M15 would be a nearly guaranteed title contender.
shono is so big, but there is no fire.
Who fucking knows 😂😂😂.
Same as ura and tobizaru who knows what they r gonna pull up against top guyz
Why you throwing shade on Ryuden?
Theres a huge amount of reasons but mostly its that hes weird and hes really obviously very good but is M13 like what are we doing here lol.
Google "ryuden abortion" or "ryuden abortion news" and you'll find the story.
google alters image searches based on your algorithm.....he outed himself as a furry lol
I blame Yuria.
