I blew it in my previous post about the recording contract. They need a recording contract, AND a world tour! Also, a big thank you to Curt Edwards for sharing the videos of these lovely, talented, ladies, The Kentucky Bluebells. Regards.
I was listening to this yesterday with some friends who told me about Dolly Parton singing this better....... 🤔 I'd never heard her singing it so I gave it a listen 🎶🎵🎼 Yeah.... miss Parton certainly can sing it well, but y'all are my absolute favorite by far!❤❤❤
@@DeanAWhite-gr8eo According to Wikipedia, Jimmie Rodgers wrote it in 1930 and recorded it in 1931. It has been recorded by others ever since. I guess I was wrong.
Just beautiful girls I love your singing and playing lovely thanks you girls are so good I love it a great old song from the past thank y u for sharing hugs to you all J R NL CANADA
@@thies7831 Suddenly it becomes clear to me, You and I are on different pages, and different continents. I believe that I now understand your comment. No offense meant. I see the lady singer/banjo player simply as wearing a striped dress, not a school uniform. Here in the USA only "Prestigious Private Academies" require uniforms for students. 98% of students wear "what they wish". The ladies excellent performance of a Blue Grass tune (an American musical idiom) is still worthy of praise to me. Thanks for the heads up from Oz, I sometimes forget that cultures other than mine speak English. Is it Geirge Bernard Shaw that is quoted as saying "Two peoples separated by a common language"? My apologies, and regards.
@@DeanAWhite-gr8eo All good, no apology required as your comment has not been taken as an offence. Noticing this group, I perceived them as how they would be received if performing in Australia. Their musical quality is unquestionable, however, the presented dress code triggered the comparison with above mentioned rock star. Several decades ago, such striped garments were the uniforms of female shop assistants too. It doesn't matter within the USA, although, if this group is planning any tours outside the cultural realm of the USA some research would be helpful for avoiding any comical incidents. Personally, I am wishing them well for their musical career.🖖👍
@@thies7831 You are most gracious to not take offense. Many do these days. When you mention the "Striped Dress" symbolism, I'm reminded of my sister wearing a red and white striped uniform as a hospital volunteer AGES ago. These volunteers were named "Candy stripers" for the red and white stripes. You're correct, just as I need to remind myself of other cultures here on UA-cam, the ladies of Kentucky Bluebells should be aware of them if they begin a world tour. My regards to OZ from the USA. 🙂
Nice performance and singing
I love it.
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
