I got here by way of a Peter Rowan interview that Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale did on their Sirius/XM show, channel 62 -- available to stream. Rowan has lived a deep, rich life.
Clarence White! Wow !! Thanks so much buddy!! You inspire me and certainly put Tony on the right path and we are indebted to you for teaching teaching, not only Tony, but all of us pickerfriends!! Thanks love, Kenny and all members of flat pick guitar 🎸 group ❤️!!!
I wasn't at the taping at KCET but I saw the group play McCabes in Santa Monica very soon after. It was a longer set at the club, so I actually lucked out. I can't believe it was 50 years ago. I saw Peter, Richard and Grisman play many times in various musical permutations over the years but, sadly, not Clarence for obvious reasons. I've always loved this particular lineup.
Reading through Mark O'Connor's Autobiography and he mentions watching this and the influence it had on him. I had the Album a few years later. 1973 was the year I discovered "Doc Watson on Stage" and got to see him at Winfield, while Mark was Listening to This! No wonder he was a Prodigy.
I've always been a huge Bluegrass fan. These guys raised the stakes fifty years ago. It still sounds great today. Thanks for your post. It has been a while. Like seeing old friends again.
This is great, but I'm tryna find the audio of a CD I used to have if these guys playing electric. Thr song High and Lonesome is sooooo good. Can anyone help? 🙏
Still one of the best and finest bluegrass bands! Second to none!
Richard is still my fav. fiddler of all time. Long before Mark O., Richard was the most innovative fiddler on the planet!! :)
I'm bonging on Clarence White. This is wonderful.
Don't drink and drive! (Or drugs or distraction!)

And he's a lovely, engaging guy.

THANK YOU !!!!!!
This is some first-rate bluegrass music.
Just amazing the talent on that stage.
Peter Rowan. In the top 3 all time bluegrass lead singers. Pure talent.
Wow. I saw Rowan and Greene with Seatrain, Grisman with his own band and Clarence White with the Byrds. Seeing them all together is amazing.

Man!!! I never knew about this!!! If only Garcia could’ve been on with them that day!!!!! Whew!!!! Still this is FANTASTIC!!!!!!! 🔥❤️🔥😁
What’s wrong with you? They are perfect. Why mention Garcia ? 🤷♂️😗
Tasteless
Thanks for posting. I have the CD but have never seen the video.
Thanks for this, first time I've seen the full video
Great video! 4 months before Clarence was killed by a drunken driver in Palmdale, CA.
Clarence's untimely death STILL breaks my heart.
Kind of reminds me of "Old and in the Way".
Clarence was a guitar god.
All star cast

Great musicians all, but you have the all-time greatest guitar player and underuse him.
