Mike I honestly live for these creek vids man. We all would love to do this let’s be honest. Exploring, fishing finding hidden gems. Definitely do explore the creek again bro
Lol funny story mike. As a kid I tripped and fell over that concrete wall lol. There’s a ton of good creeks out there. Drive the 15 minutes to elk ridge and fish the creek there by the town sign. Full of bass. EC for life. Glad you haven’t changed since HS
We called them creek chubs and used to use seine net where one person on each side of the creek drags the net. We used them for bait and they work great.
Im pretty sure those are fallfish not suckers. I catch them a lot in small creeks like that, they basically bite anything that moves. Great vid keep up the good work!!!!!
I'm outside watching this on my break at work and right when you were looking for the source of that mystery sound a truck backfired across the street and I almost shat myself!
Awesome video man it’s awesome to see the success you can have for sticking with it, I’ve been watching you and Jon B for several years then the googan squad happened and it blew my mind all for just not giving up, your the reason behind my inspiration for my channel to become one of the biggest YT’s ever. love the vids man maybe someday I’ll get to challenge you myself lol good work man as always !!!
Some content to watch while I’m waiting till tomorrow morning to give it a send in the little pigeon river. Can’t wait. Talk to a few UA-camrs here in Tennessee and they given me a few tips and pointers on where to go.
Makes me want to start fishing again, i always enjoyed creek fishing more than fishing for big bass on the river. Just so much more interesting creek fishing, you just never know what you catch lol
This was one of my favorite videos you’ve made keep up the good work I just coght my new on it was 4 and a half pounds you really inspired me keep up the great work bud
Next time you snag a bait 1 rod and it’s close but to deep to get real your rod all the way in so the fishing pole tip is connecting to your bait and you should be able to wiggle right out easy very helpful tip in my opinion
my backyard creek has a ton of smallies and fallfish. the biggest fallfish i caught out of there was 14 inches and the biggest smallie i ever caught was 20 inches and he was 4 pounds 8 ounces.
Here in Kentucky we call them Creek Chubs, i've caught the biggest and most bass whie using them live. Also, flatheads go crazy for it. They're so popular here that you can sell them for $3 per chub
Those lower wires were Communications (cable, phone internet etc) totally harmless. The power wires are kept up top. Usually just wire with no rubber jacket.
Love that creek fishing Man! I fish an urban creek way upstream part of 4 mile in Arlington Va, and regularly see a 3 foot plus eel in this one hole. I don't want to catch Him, but there are always four or so species sharing the hole. Usually Suckers, another species of minnow, and red breast and gills.
@@1Rod1ReelFishing No definitely an American eel, 4 mile run where you were catching epic goldfish by rt.1 has like 12 low water dams now, but before they finished that there were lots of eels in the deep holes all the way up to Lubber run below George Mason drive near Ballston! Now you rarely see them.
Damn youre so lucky to have a creek right next to your house. Not the biggest fish but area still looks beautiful and good fishing/exploring especially for kids.
And once again one rod another banger love to see it man every time I see one of your videos I get excited you’re my favorite fisherman of all time bro keep fishing also I have been subbed for almost 5 years 😊
I live close to you and fish a ton of creeks. I also have the same Googan rod/reel, but I use Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai Fluorocarbon Fishing Line 4 lb. Perfect for Central MD creeks. Like using Z-Man micro finesse ned rigs as well. Bait lasts forever and you can swim it, jig it or leave on the bottom.
It's a beaver plooshing the water I bet ,I did the exact same thing ,I anitally though someone was throwing a rack, until I actually saw it after the umpteenth time it happened on several fishing trips.they are basically warning you to get away, never had an attack or anything but is true.
I bet the monster fish you saw may have been a common carp actually, from what I have observed they will school up and if you get lucky you can find a piece of cover they will hang around at various points of the day.
In my amateur opinion the first sunny looked like a hybrid between a green sunfish and a orange spotted sunfish. Also i vote yes on a future exploration of the branch
In Ohio I fish these out of my backyard river all the time. They bite on 1/64oz jigs. Very tiny stuff. They bite non stop. It gets boring after awhile but you can catch them for cat fish bait, etc.
That beautiful one is a redear sunfish I believe. Those hybrids earlier have have been a redear hybrid as well. Forgot you’re in MD or south of Philly.
I fly fish my backyard creek, Little Patuxent, and catch a gang of those fallfish. Also yellow belly sunfish like yours in the vid, and some nice smallies! Lots of fun on the fly if you’re willing to work for them.
Man, the last time I had a splash like that, it was a pretty scary situation. It was dark as hell at night with no one around. The next morning we went, we found giant footprints right next to where we were standing and we were the only ones around. I would be careful the next time you go there. It was bare footprints with no shoe prints and it didn’t lead to anywhere. Stay safe my friend.
So I'm pretty sure you actually had three different species in there at the beginning, (still currently watching the whole video), none were a sucker. To me it looked like river chub, creek chub and possibly a common shiner mixed in there but it was hard to tell it got away so quick. Very cool, this type of fishing is what I live for.
It's a fallfish my brother. It's a hybrid Green sunfish/ Pumpkinseed. Got them in our pond, pregnant one was a hybrid as well❤😊 Almost all of the sunfish were hybrids ❤
He reminded me of quagmire (when talking about the egg) , when quagmire talks about his secret to looking young even tho he is old is carrots. As long as you shove them in to your body somehow every it will help 😂😅
I love your content and am obsessed with fishing. I also have a river nearby from were i live, and I catch carp, drum, suckers, bass, gar, catfish, and walleye
hey great video i love exploring creek videos. that noise you heard was a bever slapping his tail on the water. they do that right before they go under. idk if you have bevers so it could've been something else but ik i here the exactly the same thing were i live. its kinda creappy. lol And i think that hybrid is a pumpkinseed and a green sunfish mix. im not positive though.
Those sucker fish are blue catfish/ flat head and gar CANDY . Get yourself a bubbler n buck, and load up on about a dozen. You got yourself an awesome video

Name the inline spinner the fire fly or something like that 🤷♂️
Creek fishing letssss Gooooo!!!!!!🔥🔥🐐🐐
Hey one rod I think a good name for the inline spinner is the “ripper”
just to let you know those " suckers" were creek shiners
That's an awesome backyard creek! Wish I had one in my backyard. Great video btw.
Same
Definitely need to explore the whole creek up and down and where it branches off
I love exploring new waters. Would have been nice if there were some bigger fish in the backyard creek.
You and me both! Only fished it for 2 hours though, maybe if I fish longer I might find bigger fish somewhere… 🎣🤔
Mike I honestly live for these creek vids man. We all would love to do this let’s be honest. Exploring, fishing finding hidden gems. Definitely do explore the creek again bro
Well said! Will def do more creek adventures this summer! 🎣👍

Googan Creek Hunter inline spinner: Perfect for exploring new creeks with an ultralight setup
We called them creek chubs and used to use seine net where one person on each side of the creek drags the net. We used them for bait and they work great.
Bro! Rock throwing is classic Bigfoot behavior. Fisherman tend to experience that more often. That's so wild!
Definitely gonna need more creek exploration vids mike, keep it up 👍
Always going through danger for the honey holes. Much respect man💪
Im pretty sure those are fallfish not suckers. I catch them a lot in small creeks like that, they basically bite anything that moves. Great vid keep up the good work!!!!!
i agree...still looking for a subterminal suckerlike mouth never saw it lol

I love when you fish creeks. Please make another vid at that creek!
Will def make more in the future!
Everything you caught was fat and healthy! That is a great example of a healthy creek! Thanks for sharing Mike. Hope all is well!
You should def make a video, exploring the creek branch!!
1rod they are creek cub/ fall fish and in spring you can find the males with horns on there head. Awesome creek🎣
whenever me and my buddy’s fish a creek like that we think of 1rod ❤️❤️
You're right all those chubs are a sign of healthy creek. Usually catch them fishing for trout.
Some content to watch while I’m waiting till tomorrow morning to give it a send in the little pigeon river. Can’t wait. Talk to a few UA-camrs here in Tennessee and they given me a few tips and pointers on where to go.

YOU GOT A BIGFOOT THROWING ROCK IN THE CREEK!!! 😂😅
Love your vids! You should name the in-line spinner the “whirlybird” and you can call smaller jr and larger can be sr
The clapping push-ups will never get old! Huge fan ❤
Appreciate the support! 👊
I love small creek fishing so much
This was one of my favorite videos you’ve made keep up the good work I just coght my new on it was 4 and a half pounds you really inspired me keep up the great work bud

Fishing adventures are the best adventure.
You’ve been killing it with the inline spinners for real! Very underrated lure.
You already know 🎣😎
@@1Rod1ReelFishingYou wouldn't happen to have any idea what the price is going to be like for the in-line spinners would you?
Here in Kentucky we call them Creek Chubs, i've caught the biggest and most bass whie using them live. Also, flatheads go crazy for it. They're so popular here that you can sell them for $3 per chub
Wow!!! I might catch some for catfish bait then! They easy to keep alive??
@@1Rod1ReelFishingnot super hard, but once they’re on the hook they kind of go kaput on you
They also make good crawfish bait if you cut them up and use them in traps
@@1Rod1ReelFishing You have to use one of the bubble aerators. Then they will stay alive pretty much all day.
@1Rod1ReelFishing just get a minnow trap and use bread as bait. Super easy to catch them quick and in abundance
These videos are thee best in fishing tips, humor, and always adventurous
Wade fishing adventures is probably my favorite way to fish! 🎣😎

Well definitely that creek suckers. Nothing more irritating when I'm trout fishing and all i catch is creek chubs.
Eipstiens creek 😭😭 22:19

Mike I've watched your entire career super proud of you. now if only I could get you down here to Tennessee to fish with me I'd be stoked...
I’ll be in Nashville fishing with Reggie later this year hopefully! 🙏🙏
Damn youre so lucky to have a creek right next to your house. Not the biggest fish but area still looks beautiful and good fishing/exploring especially for kids.
Absolutely!! My kids love splashing in this creek, and now I have an excellent place to catch catfish bait 🎣👍
Orange Spotted Sunfish was the 2nd species caught

The In-line Spinner is a Rooster Tail
I fish a river bareley bigger then this creek and i have ran into some monster carp in it. You will have to keep an eye out for them.
I bet the monster fish you saw may have been a common carp actually, from what I have observed they will school up and if you get lucky you can find a piece of cover they will hang around at various points of the day.

In Ohio I fish these out of my backyard river all the time. They bite on 1/64oz jigs. Very tiny stuff. They bite non stop. It gets boring after awhile but you can catch them for cat fish bait, etc.
Could make this a whole series fr
Creek fishing is a blast. A trout magnet or one of Leo’s Eurotackle jigs work great.
Been a fan since 2017 love watching the vids for years to come
they should call the inline spinner the googan squad slinger lol
That beautiful one is a redear sunfish I believe. Those hybrids earlier have have been a redear hybrid as well. Forgot you’re in MD or south of Philly.
My local creek is loaded with sunfish and creeks chubs with the occasional largemouth or Smallmouth. Strike king bitsy minnow is the juice.
Definitely gotta do some more of these videos 👍🏽

More creek fishing!! I wanna see your microbait skills!
Bogfoot trying to spook ya ! They like too throw rocks from what I here !!
Mike it just came to me. Hope ur sitting down. So you all have the zinger. Since the inline spinner catches small fish mostly. The dinger zinger
I think Mike should do this again but with BIG baits. Like a swimbait or a big topwater
Yet another 1rod BANGER video🔥
Sir, you are the best. Crack me up every time.
The "suckers" were all Fallfish. They're the biggest minnow species and will hit anything.
they’re fallfish, not suckers
Remember catching fall fish (creek chub) as a kid. The ones with horns were cool.
@@bassfishingobsessionfall fish and creek chubs are different fish too
Same family
There all in the carp family of fish.
That second fish was definitely a white sucker
River chubs great pike and musky bait!!
WOW Ur backyard is Beautiful!
What that stick gonna do Michael 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It felt right in the moment 🤪🤪
Those are telecomm lines, powerlines are located at the top of the poles.
I think the name for the inline spinner should be the whipper flipper
