Holy Cow, I put the wrong part number in the video and description. haha. I updated the video description with the right part number. MagnaFlow says its a "Cat-Back" system and they'll even tell you over the phone that it will replace the resonator, but they don't know their own products unfortunately.... it is a resonator back system.
It is definitely still sounding good. The sound has rounded out just a bit and I actually like it better. There was an ever so slight drone at certain RPM's for the first few months, but now there is zero drone in the cab.
Hey OP.... Currently running muffler delete only on my 18 f150 5.0 kept resonator. In this vid the magnaflow is essentially just in place of factory muffler keeping everything else in tact incl resonator? I'm looking for something quieter than I have now but just slightly louder than stock. Thanks
@@studio_tron thanks for the reply. Your post on the forum brought me here. Any chance you can provide a link to exactly what you bought? Having problem finding it... Maybe because I'm in Canada.
This is the link where I bought mine from: www.stage3motorsports.com/19079-2015-F150-5-0L-Magnaflow-3-Single-Exit-Cat-Back-Exhaust-Kit.html I bought mine during the Black Friday deals for significantly less, you might want to wait a few months to see if they go on sell again for this years deals.
Same here I’ve been running muffler delete for about 2 months and the wife told me it’s time to tone it down. I bought a Magnaflow muffler and will be taking it in to get put on.
@@tonypena818 hey thanks man. Can you reply back here when you get it on and let me k ow your thoughts? Or I'm also on f150 forum..... What model # muffler did you pick up?
Hey I just bought this system and am about to install it and you are right the instructions indicate you remove the resonator and connect this directly to the cat. So just to confirm this doesn't delete or replace the resonator? - it hooks up to the OEM resonator? Just want to make sure i'm doing this right. Thanks and good vid BTW
Awesome! Before I did the install, I set the new parts on the ground starting with the tip in its approximate location and lined them up to get a rough estimate of how long it would be. If you do this you will be able to confirm for yourself. For my application the kit did not delete the resonator, the kit bolts to your factory resonator. In the video starting at 1:50 you can see the resonator is still attached and that stays on the truck.
@@studio_tron Thanks man - looks like we have to same part # so i would assume its a resonator back system. Which is good for me as I want ZERO drone....because engine/exhaust drone will cause front right seat/wife drone. I could maybe live with one but not both lol!
I'm curious why do people buy a single pipe system when you could just buy a muffler a lot cheaper than a system and use the original piping? If needed a shop could do it and you'd come out cheaper.
Factory exhaust pipes will rust much sooner than this particular system. I can't tell you why everyone else does it, but I selected this option for the longevity aspect of having a higher quality stainless steel.
I just had a local shop replace my factory muffler with a single in, dual out Magnaflow and just put turndowns on right behind the muffler. If I want I can run duals on out the rear later for another $70+ any tips I want. I paid $180 out the door and was in the shop about an hour from the time I rolled up until I left. I was surprised how good it sounds and how good a deal I got when compared to the price of kits
Random turkeys walking buy @40 seconds lol
anyone else see the turkey crossing at :30?
Turkeys just strolling through the front yard. Lol
I saw that too...said WTF?
Haha. Yeah, there were 24 Turkey out there that morning! There's even some turkey in my video about making a work bench.
Oh yeah...That sounds great...Very deep and not raspy.
Resonator only sounds much better then the Magnaflow. In my opinion
Are those 🦃 in your front yard??
You know it!
awesome rumble ... by the way what wheels and tires do you have on ?
The wheels are Method / Grid... I do have flush mounted center caps on them by Chief Machining.
The tires are BFG KO2.
I love my 5.0 but maybe there is not enough displacement to make them sound like a classic V8
Was the resonator removed when installing the Magnaflow exhaust?
No. Resonator will stay on your truck. They say it's a "cat back" system, but it's actually a resonator back system.
Thanks for the comparison. What are the dimensions of the muffler from that kit?
The muffler body is about 18" long.
Is this a cat back system or muffler only? Can’t find any info online. I want something not too loud for my 2019 and love the sound of this setup.

Try magnaflow 19080
Damn Peacocks
Hi how is this unit since you installed it still sounding good?
It is definitely still sounding good. The sound has rounded out just a bit and I actually like it better. There was an ever so slight drone at certain RPM's for the first few months, but now there is zero drone in the cab.
Just gonna cut the muffler off mine
I was going to cut it off too. Have you done it yet?
I have just the resonator on my 2014 f150 5.0 and I love it. I get asked all the time what exhaust I have
Just cut mine off its a 2018 f150 5.0 sounds good..

That is correct. The factory resonator is still on the truck. This kit comes with a new muffler and stainless steel piping.

You run E85? Just curious about the water vapor lol
Nope. Plain old 87 octane.
