You know, I used to be a treaty player and I was doing fine but I just... learned the game better and appreciated the default mode so much more. If you don't play a Treaty balance patch the game is too clunky and certain things lose their intended balance.
@@matthewafshin5961 NOTHING is easy by itself. a child finds it difficult to talk, a physically disabled person finds it difficult to walk. its all a matter of relation and perspective. nr 40 is easy COMPARED to the normal playstyle where you have to be quick and do many things at once where as nr40 cuts half of the games difficulty by allowing you to focus on building and economy followed by combat where you often have to do little to no constructing and economy.
@@matthewafshin5961 nah, you confuse difficulty with a challenge. its ALWAYS a challenge to beat a skilled opponent. no matter how EASY the task. you can have a challenge in digging a hole with a stick. takes almost no skill, but your opponent also got a stick so its gonna be tough to race him. im talking about the difficulty. what is required of you to be good, how much do you have to know and how much do you have to learn. in tready you have less micro, cause there is more unit spam you dont have to have any knowledge of all the early game strategies, rush, boom, ff, semi ff, fi, revolt etc etc and you also dont have to learn to identify them you dont have to manage your eco and micro you dont have to adapt to what your opponent is doing etc so all in all, nobody said nr40 is the easiest thing in the world. its just objectively way easier than normal aoe. i mean, i got the major rank in no rush within a couple of games... its not that hard. its just incredibly boring and time consuming xD
Initially my favorite civ was knights of malta from the campaign. When I found out about their similarities with spain, I played with Spain for a year...
The Aztecs are the best for treaties BECAUSE you max up your populatuon AND THEN push out all of the special side cards that make more men. This way you get over 330 pop and decimate any opponent. You can win against anyone this way
Aztec vs wall spam=Sadztec. Aztec early push is strong yeah but start fight wont decide everything and not to mention Aztec units arent the strongest with the exception of ERK. Their seige sucks too.

My personal list: Threaty= Germany Normal game no rush = China Normal game rush = Brits (because of the musk upgrades in age2 I feel safer as with russia ). I know they are slower than Russia but I win the age 2 battle against Russia strelets with perfect musk . No hate pls
@@thanasisthanos2152 depends. I get so much recourses. That helps me to win the game safe. I can spam units the whole game. I win one time a game after nearly 4 hours, and he destroyed my eco one time completely. I simply didn't care, because I still had 200k gold and food....

Japanese on maps with water and using walls is unbeatable ,who does not believe me to watch the games of the big final of the tournament esoc played by Kynesie.....
Recently kaiserklein has beaten kynesie with that japan... Fast fortress with france and germany and got through the walls before kenysie had enough millitary.
The asian civs dont build their units as fast in late game. Compare it with the european civs. They have upgrades in church to build inf and cav very fast, + they often have cards to build faster units so f. E the france can build kurassiers in under 1 second. The Portuguese can build dragoons per Click under 1 second an so on
@@Sagar_Patelv28 not really, and that's the problem, take Japan for example, with all their upgrades and buffs they're slightly better than some euro civs, and it's kinda balanced in general, but that's the problem, if you lose those wonders suddenly all your military it's just way weaker, and with them it's only the same as euro's... That's just not right; and it's true euro civs have 90% decrease for the time to cav and 65% for infantry, and asian civs get like 40% for all units and that's just not fair :(

But even with that it's not enough for japanese, cause apart from that they only have the shogunate wich is only -10% and with the church it's -35% for infantry and -60% for cav compared to euro civs wich is -65% for infantry and -90% for cavalry, that means euro inf creates almost twice as fast (65/35) and cav it's four times as fast (40/10) than asian ones and yes, japan can train in blocks of 10 but i would take fast training time over blocks of 10 any day
It's interesting that Portugal got top 5 in 5/6 categories. Russia, British and Dutch 3 each, Ottomans and Japan 4, Aztec, France and Germany 2, and Sioux, Iroquois and India 1. Spain and China aren't even on these. This isn't any sort of statistical attempt given that we're not looking at online match results SotL style, but it says a lot about play style and how easy each civilization is to use.

That is pretty historically accurate, but in reality the main reason the Spanish won is because they were able to turn a lot of the cities that the Aztecs had conquered against them.

Back in 06,07,08,09 and some of 2010.... I enjoyed Dutch the most. I was a DM player more than Sup or treaty. But I dabbled in them all. I heavily preferred DM though. Something about the microing fighting and having 2 manage ur economy made DM enjoyable. I also enjoyed Treaty due 2 DM. Sup was just for shits and giggles for me. I usually played Ottomans for a Rush and treaty. Then switching 2 Dutch, Port, Germ, and Russia for DM. Man I really needa make a comeback on this game. I never knew how much I could miss it.
Im surprised no one mentioned the aztecs for treaty and turtle strats -fortification dance -9 farm/plantation bonus shipments -300+population end game ---->wall up and do the fortification dance (32k HP on the wall) ---->spam defense builidings (you'll have 28K+ HP on each buliding late game) ---->farm up + get all farm bonuses from shipments ---->wait until it's 40+min game ---->get all upgrades and then get ---->at 200/200 population delete vills and get armies ---->at 200/200 armies research all the unique building upgrades which wil give u 15+ units each ---->you'll end up with 380 pop anti-everything army --->attack for the first time in the game ---->win this is mostly effective in team games

I'll also create another 2 categories: most fun late game - Romania most fun rush - Paraguay
The thing I hate the most about this game is that it's unbalanced, so that certain civs just can't play certain maps at higher skill levels. It got worse with the expansion packs.
Dutch is my most favourate civ, build six bank in colonial age and have livestock card (must have for all civ) with 10 vills for food from fatten cattle and 20 vills for wood (only 30 vills for resources). With that you can rush and boom like craze with Nassauer+Skirmisher+Ruyter+Hussar+Horse Artillery combo.
The good thing also is that the hand armed cavelry Cossacks are only 1 population instead of 2. This means you can build up a huge cavalry and not tax your population room as much. I remember the times I would build up 150 Cossacks and like 8 falconet canons and just raid the whole village of my enemy wiping them off the map in a few minutes 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Yikes, people saying the Iroquois are not the top rush civ when they're literally banned in competitive play because their rush is broken. Rush civs in order should be: Iroquois, Ottoman, Aztec, Russia.
A good 40 min treaty plan with aztecs is to kill off 10 villagers for pop space due to priest send in the skull knight pet jaguars jaguar knights eagle knights arrow knights card before the end treaty so that's 11 18 10 and 8 plus the extra 10 pop from dead villagers and dance a bunch of skulls until maxed pop cap then send in all your big button upgrades and switch to war dance organize your units separately they get all crowded ...use some pumas and skulls to defend your arrow knights and jaguars as meat shields on the front lines have warhcief in the center of battle you will have more than 300 population easy with your strongest units maximized already pre fire pit dance hopefully the skull knights mass will help your initial push and you can finish off any opponent with decent eco xp flying everywhere as long as your chief is up and maxed out fire pit 😉
They complain about treaties but if they want to play realistically that’s how war works...treaties and camping waiting for the opponent to get weak or be smart... sneaky... people act like children. Sorry I play like it is in real life

In Deccan, u can age up in less than 2 mins with russia, just by collecting the food crates, then u build a blockhouse as near as possible to opp (with wood crates), u send in 5 coss as ur first card after u age and boom, ur opp is not even aging in some cases and u already won.This is the 3Rs strat=Russian Rapid Rush :D(it also works with fast fortress turtle by using blockhouses, and then u can train 40-50 strelet, surrow reforms and again=R.I.P. opp).Well, I miss this game lol.
I am dissapointed you didn't mention strelet combat or boyars card for Russia. Veteran strelets + boyars + strelet combat is unreal. They will take on an infinite number of infantry and can even kill some cav. My win rate with Russia is crazy because of it. I still enjoyed the video tho 👍
I 2v1’d a Brit and Port in a DM match and won the fight. They kept spamming Musketeers.... I knew the counter was Strelets and man.... I straight smacked em. It was there fault for not transitioning. Since I was prepared for it. It was my finest moment in AOE3. That card literally saved me vs them musk.
I see that in the version you play the stupid cannon glitch was fixed. You know, the moment a battle starts they get stuck looping between move mode and fire mode doing absolutely NOTHING! All units with the 2 mode function do that crap except for he mortar because mortars can't attack units other then ships.
This list seems like a casual game tier list in competitive gameplay ottomans or Iroquois are much better. Players in casual probably get rushed by 20 strelets and resign making it look like Russia is the best rushing civ.
Yeah but we're talking about "best". Ports can train settlers much quicker than Dutch, so Ports can gather woods more quickly. Also, banks cost a lot of woods in early game which somehow conflicts with the water boom strategy. Dutch can go water boom, but not the best.
Best treaty Civs Are France Germany China Portugal Spain and Japan any of these in the right hands will destroy the other civs and any of these can destroy any of the ones mentioned above
I love the Russians there my main because you can build troops in groups that is awesome but you don’t have guard towers or upgraded walls which suck. Great video though man.
English not in treaty? With 70 settlers they can easily keep up with 80 French villagers. Their redcoats are great and they have an above average heavy cav with their King's Hussar to fight light infantry and arty.

Hard to say. I would also go with Britain because of the houses, but also with the Atztec because of the dacing. Russia needs a good eco to push out much musk, but would also be good.
well no cards means low hc level. low hc level means you get a bonus if you win. in high level games (pr35+) thats usually japanese players. cause the ashigaru slam is strong no matter what, and if you are lv 20 you got all the cards you need for that
No Iro or Spanish for best FF? How? And how is Iro not even on the list for best overall? Iro and Otto were always banned in high-level games before ESOC patch.
Iroquois is the strongest rushing civ in the game they're too strong Russia doesn't stand a chance... making aenna sending cav and hitting big button gives you a 3 unit comp at the start. If you watch the best players in this game they say it constantly. Re patch iro is the strongest.

I love the clipping glitch on the horse-haired helmet on the gendarmes. If you look, when they swing their weapon, their helmet goes wack.

Industrial for 570 damage unction monitor bombardment is pretty strong. In Imperial you can drop a 733 damage nuke on the enemy every 20 seconds too.

The thing I hate the most about this game is that it's unbalanced, so that certain civs just can't play certain maps at higher skill levels. It got worse with the expansion packs.

Ottomans must be the best civ, coz you can get the big bombard with shipment in Age 4.
Dutch is my most favourate civ, build six bank in colonial age and have livestock card (must have for all civ) with 10 vills for food from fatten cattle and 20 vills for wood (only 30 vills for resources). With that you can rush and boom like craze with Nassauer+Skirmisher+Ruyter+Hussar+Horse Artillery combo.

The good thing also is that the hand armed cavelry Cossacks are only 1 population instead of 2. This means you can build up a huge cavalry and not tax your population room as much. I remember the times I would build up 150 Cossacks and like 8 falconet canons and just raid the whole village of my enemy wiping them off the map in a few minutes 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Have you ever tried to go some kind of mercenaries strategy ?
that is late game stuff, you can use them during fortress transition after gold mines are gone and bring rice paddies/plantations

Also, keep in mind that the occasional mercenary shipment, most notably Mamelukes or Jaegers do appear frequently anyways.

Yikes, people saying the Iroquois are not the top rush civ when they're literally banned in competitive play because their rush is broken. Rush civs in order should be: Iroquois, Ottoman, Aztec, Russia.
My tactics as the European: rush age 3 as fast as possible, build a lot of Falconet and cavalry, always use alternative route to attack :))
Actually I think that british is better at rushing because I can do a successful rush on expert in 14 mins.
And also get all the villagers I need in 4 mins because of manors.

A good 40 min treaty plan with aztecs is to kill off 10 villagers for pop space due to priest send in the skull knight pet jaguars jaguar knights eagle knights arrow knights card before the end treaty so that's 11 18 10 and 8 plus the extra 10 pop from dead villagers and dance a bunch of skulls until maxed pop cap then send in all your big button upgrades and switch to war dance organize your units separately they get all crowded ...use some pumas and skulls to defend your arrow knights and jaguars as meat shields on the front lines have warhcief in the center of battle you will have more than 300 population easy with your strongest units maximized already pre fire pit dance hopefully the skull knights mass will help your initial push and you can finish off any opponent with decent eco xp flying everywhere as long as your chief is up and maxed out fire pit 😉

In Deccan, u can age up in less than 2 mins with russia, just by collecting the food crates, then u build a blockhouse as near as possible to opp (with wood crates), u send in 5 coss as ur first card after u age and boom, ur opp is not even aging in some cases and u already won.This is the 3Rs strat=Russian Rapid Rush :D(it also works with fast fortress turtle by using blockhouses, and then u can train 40-50 strelet, surrow reforms and again=R.I.P. opp).Well, I miss this game lol.

I am dissapointed you didn't mention strelet combat or boyars card for Russia. Veteran strelets + boyars + strelet combat is unreal. They will take on an infinite number of infantry and can even kill some cav. My win rate with Russia is crazy because of it. I still enjoyed the video tho 👍

I 2v1’d a Brit and Port in a DM match and won the fight. They kept spamming Musketeers.... I knew the counter was Strelets and man.... I straight smacked em.
It was there fault for not transitioning. Since I was prepared for it.

I see that in the version you play the stupid cannon glitch was fixed. You know, the moment a battle starts they get stuck looping between move mode and fire mode doing absolutely NOTHING! All units with the 2 mode function do that crap except for he mortar because mortars can't attack units other then ships.

This list seems like a casual game tier list in competitive gameplay ottomans or Iroquois are much better. Players in casual probably get rushed by 20 strelets and resign making it look like Russia is the best rushing civ.

Yeah but we're talking about "best". Ports can train settlers much quicker than Dutch, so Ports can gather woods more quickly. Also, banks cost a lot of woods in early game which somehow conflicts with the water boom strategy. Dutch can go water boom, but not the best.

English not in treaty? With 70 settlers they can easily keep up with 80 French villagers. Their redcoats are great and they have an above average heavy cav with their King's Hussar to fight light infantry and arty.

Saying germans have the strongest rush is just stupid. Aztecs have way stronger (to be fair they dont rush usually, but 8 min push) otto has stronger rush, even india has better rushing options. And i didnt even mention iro, the ace of rushing.

Hard to say. I would also go with Britain because of the houses, but also with the Atztec because of the dacing. Russia needs a good eco to push out much musk, but would also be good.

well no cards means low hc level. low hc level means you get a bonus if you win. in high level games (pr35+) thats usually japanese players. cause the ashigaru slam is strong no matter what, and if you are lv 20 you got all the cards you need for that

Iroquois is the strongest rushing civ in the game they're too strong Russia doesn't stand a chance... making aenna sending cav and hitting big button gives you a 3 unit comp at the start. If you watch the best players in this game they say it constantly. Re patch iro is the strongest.
