    I think we got a hint about Kaeya’s identity from Cyno’s recent story quest. A vessel for a god fragment. They tend to be sickly in their childhood.
    Crepus had connections to the Fatui, and treated Kaeya better than his own son… Now, the reasons behind his assassination are still unclear, but inspector Eroch is undoubtedly a Dottore segment. He can shapeshift, but look at his clothes!
    There was a suspicious amount of effort put into this mission: Sending the Second Harbinger into Mondstadt like that seems like an overkill. A segment didn’t need to blend in for an extended time just to kill Ursa and put the city in their debt. He didn’t *need* to lure Ursa then and there to just to kill Diluc’s father.
    The fatui is clearly VERY invested in controlling both Diluc and Kaeya’s lives.

      I really really like this theory. WHen I was making my venti video and thinking about mondstadts significance i was noting that they have had three different Harbingers assigned there for various reason. SIgnora of course, Scaramouche in unreconciled stars and Dottore in the manga, but I never considered Eroch more closely. This is very interesting indeed.

      @@theunlikelygenshingamer Yep, that’s Dottore! Sending him on an extended spy mission like that seems like a misuse of his abilities unless we’re missing something…
      The new Caribert quest only confirmed the Kaeya’s god fragment theory… Taming Abyss power is extremely tricky. It either kills the host, or distorts their personality and takes over their minds.
      The unaffected show a very particular pattern: Losing everything at an early age. Why was Caribert a good candidate for becoming the Loom of Fate? He said “Extreme sorrow and pain. Hope and regret coursing through your veins… and a degree of Abyssal power that defies comprehension.”
      Coincidentally, another child roughly 500 years ago was struck by tragedy after tragedy and gained control over the Abyss: Jakob Ingold. The Book of Esoteric Revelations, created by him and Rene shows the room where Dainsleif’s brother is hanging. Golden butterflies… Canotila saw them in the book, now they were Caribert’s way of giving pleasant dreams to hilichurls. This is undoubtedly the same power.
      Maybe Kaeya’s life needed to be ruined thoroughly to make him suitable for controlling it? He doesn’t need to be loyal to Khaenri’ah, he needs to be constantly torn between hope and despair.

    honestly if Kaeya does go bad and fight again us, i have full faith in him that he'll bounce back to our side in the end. after all, his emotional ties are in mondstadt. he loves the city and its people. he doesnt have to do any of the kind things he goes out of his way to do for others, like planning a party for Jean and giving us the credit, or being like an older brother/uncle to Klee. Mondstadt is his home and its why hes so conflicted. he feels torn apart trying to decide where his loyalties should lie. his blood abandoned him, putting so much weight on the shoulders of a child, while Mondstadt has for the most part been nothing but kind to him and shown him how good life could be.

    The main reason that i used to hesitate on the idea of Kaeya having said something to Diluc that we dont know about from his Character Stories that was what caused him to attack is the question of why he would stop atterwards - some people say that Kaeya recieving a Vision made it seem like he was claimed by the gods and therefore off limits in some way, that they wanted him to live so Diluc shouldnt ignore that and keep going, but its never sat right with me for reasons i havent been able to fully parse out.
    But watching your last video in this series point out that Diluc clearly attacked Kaeya's face yet managed to not kill or severely maim him like one would expect if a claymore had been involved as well as fire actually got some mental gears whirring! If Kaeya's eye does indeed have something up with it thats worth covering, what if it has some sort of passive effect that Kaeya has no control over, like sending information back to the people he left behind, and thats why the Vision was enough to get Diluc to stop and cool down and eventually start seeing him around Mondstadt with nothing more than pointed comments and increasingly less harsh conversationnas time goes on - Diluc wasnt aiming to kill him at the time, but to remove the eye before it could do any more damage to Mondstadt's safety, but the gods gave him some protection and approval, and with time Diluc has realised that harming Kaeya for something that isnt his fault isnt the way to go, but his shiftier behaviour, larger sway within the Knights that Diluc is now aware arent perfectly capable of defending Mondstadt, and overall more manipulative demeanour (think the way he handles his Story Quest by both tricking us and by finding out information with a lot of charismatic tricks) would still set off alarm bells now that Dilus is aware that he and he alone is aware of the danger Kaeya is posing just by being here, unable to tell anyone without risking Kaeya's life because if he, who used to call him brother, reacted like that, then what would the rest of their home have to say about it?

  • @impishtwink8144
    @impishtwink8144 5 місяців тому +38

    i really need to add something about Kaeya revealing his secret to Diluc. its very much implied Kaeya was feeling s*icidal out of guilt as he anticipated Diluc's anger and already knew he wouldnt take it well. i could easily see Kaeya rationalizing that it would only be right for Diluc to be the one to off him, bcuz he feels so horribly guilty about lying to him for all those years. neither of them were in an emotionally stable place after Crepus' death and were likely acting based purely on emotion without stopping to think. you can kinda see how Kaeya keeps everyone at an arms length, and i think its because hes afraid of getting too close to som1 again. and Diluc keeps his distance from Kaeya out of guilt for nearly killing him. they both clearly still care a lot about each other but dont seem to know how to approach the other. Kaeya is constantly masking his true feelings by putting on that suave, charming persona. i think its pretty obvious that underneath it all he really hates himself and struggles a lot with inner conflicts.

    I've been saying this since the Hidden Strife event, people have two parents. It's unusual for a Noble family amongst others to step up if they have no familial connections with royalty. It's said that King Irmin didn't have an avaible heir at the time of his fall, I speculated that he actually did have an heir but they were too young to take the throne, so the Alberich Clan a.k.a. the possible in-laws of Eclipse Dynasity, took the position as regents, like Lord Protectors. There is no way they are going to cancel a popular theory in a limited event with vague details in a closed brick in the wall unless it is to confuse the players. Dain assumed Kaeya is from Chlothar's linage but what if he is Knight Marshall Anfortas' descendant? Mashall btw literally means a : a high official in the household of a medieval king, prince, or noble originally having charge of the cavalry but later usually in command of the military forces. b : a person who arranges and directs the ceremonial aspects of a gathering. It kinda fits Kaeya

    Things really got a little more interesting with the new Traveler Quest, and while I was hoping for a more direct mention or appearence regarding Kaeya, I think we got a good indirect answer regarding Kaeya's bloodline or rather if he truly is a descendant of Chlothar/Caribert.
    Spoilers! If you still haven't played the quest.
    A lot of us had the question of what had happened with Caribert after the end of the last quest and this quest answers that question. Caribert died the moment he became the loom of fate. He never grew up and technically never beyond being 8 years, the adult version we see is the copy of young Chlothar that Caribert uses to see himself as a normal person if he had the chance to grow up.
    This means that Caribert didn't have descendants, for obvious reasons, and therefore Kaeya's ancestry doesn't come from him.
    We could make the theory that Chlothar had another son, but that's unlikely since there's been no mention of other children after the cataclysm. We could try to suppose that, since Chlothar refered to Caribert as his "bastard son" then that means he had pure-blooded ones before and Kaeya could descend from them.
    Or... Kaeya has absolutely nothing to do with Chlothar in a direct way. There are other Alberichs at the end of the day; one in particular is so present in all of Sumeru and his ultimate destiny is still unknown. That person is Anfortas, the king regent of Khaenri'ah and who we know controlled the giant ruin golems in Sumeru with the Schwanenritter.
    It's even more interesting when we discover that Anfortas, in a battle between Hadura, a member that betrayed him, lost his left eye and had to wear an eyespatch.

      I love it so much when i come across another player who knows there lore back and forth :D. I have dont the quest and i agree with everything that you said. I would also like to add that Caribert which means Chlothar by extension looked very much like Kaeya- same hair color without the suspicious white streak, the same earring even, though Kaeya's is bigger.
      To me it implies that the bloodline is not watered down any bit and that Kaeya is either descendant from chlothar's possibly legitimate purebood son or from Anfortas who could have possibly been Chlothar's brother.
      Further more i dont think many people realize that the Alberich line is a very long lived line in the nobility.
      In Perinheri the girl who came to the orphanage with Perinheri was listing some of the most powerful figures in the kingdom who were affiliated with the orphanage and she said Alberich was one of the best fighters, commander of half of the army.
      That's not a small deal.
      Im begining to understand why Kaeya's dad wrote that the Alberich clan must burn brightly like fire where ever they go or wherever they find themself.
      Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts.

      @@theunlikelygenshingamer yes yes! There is definitely a big physical resemblance between Kaeya and Caribert/Chlothar, Kaeya's skin tone is the only thing missing and why a lot of people theorize his mother could be from Sumeru (besides the multiple connections he has for his name and constellation) and thus making him half-blood.
      It's also very interesting how big the Alberich clan actually is and how they basically burned every record of them except the paper Kaeya rescued and kept in the secret box. In reality, Kaeya could come from any of them, but the two major candidates are Chlothar and Anfortas.
      For once, Kaeya is not cursed or has not been revealed to hold the curse of Khaenri'ah and this directly ties him with Chlothar since he is the only one we know broke the curse.
      But also he shares many similarities with the descriptions of Anfortas and we've been shown Anfortas was a king that didn't approve of the abyss and looked for ways in which the technology of the nation were functional without abyssal powers. This intolerance/distrust of the abyss is something we can see in Kaeya as well, so it's also very possible he was taught to go against the order by a direct descendant of Anfortas.
      I love discussing lore with people! especially about Kaeya since he is my favorite character and every piece of information that can be tracked down to him I will devour it whole 🤭

      I was just thinking about the clues about Kaeya's ancestry again and how connected he is and then it hit me:
      In Kaeya's voicelines about Khaenri’ah, He says only the sinners are left. We assume at first that he just means the people who got what they deserved I suppose.
      But he probably completely meant The Sinners which means he us very much in the know about certain affairs in Khaenri’ah.
      Also it's time we reexamine why it is that Kaeya was able to "Fraternize with Abyss Mages during the Dvalin incident and find out that they have a princess over them. Info no one else could know.
      Was he actually Fraternizing as he put it or does he have certain rank that allows him to question them and they must answer??

      The high possibility that Kaeya knows a lot more about Khaenriah's history that he lets on is killing me. I wonder if he has always had that knowledge or if he is just collecting the pieces.
      In the Caribert AQ, when Dainsleif reveals he is the descendant of the abyss order's founder he responds that information "answered some questions he carried in his memories" so.. could it be he is using his "fraternizing" with the abyss to obtain information about other questions he has? And if so, for what purpose?

    I really enjoy listening to the story of Kaeya and Diluc, at first I didn't care much, but after reading Lore and Kaeya's story, I became curious about how complicated and important this character is, none of the characters are as interesting to me as Kaeya!
    I continue playing Ganshin only because of these two and Khaenria's story, which is definitely the amazing point of the game!
    *spoil*
    It seems that the Alberich family isn't only related to Chlothar, and it's very likely that Kaeya is from Anfotas's generation, as we learned in the new archon quest , it seems that we have two sides of people in the "cataclysm", those who are with their people and protect Khaenriah (being on the side of the king Irmin) and those who betrayed which Dane's older brother were also among them!
    I am somehow sure that Kaeya will save his people in the end (maybe even from Celestia's curse) he is mentioned as the last hope ofc.
    He's from a true generation of Khaenri'ah's people.

    So how do you read this line from Kaeya's Vision story?
    "Since that day, Kaeya and Diluc have gone their separate ways. But he never discusses it, just as he never discusses the origin of his Vision."
    Specifically at that time back in v1.0 these character and visions stories were taken to be truthful whereas this one appears to be lying. Clearly (1) Kaeya and Diluc do not go their separate ways but continue to closely co-operate in various ways as well as the fact that Kaeya is always in and out of the Winery, making free with bottles of wine. (2) If Kaeya never talks about the origin of his Vision then what is the source of the Vision story?
    These stories only become visible after you reach a certain level of friendship, suggesting that they represent reaching a level of trust with the character that they are willing to tell you juicy details they don't ordinarily tell people. But with Kaeya alone the highest friendship level story still lies to you. Is this significant?

    • @theunlikelygenshingamer
      @theunlikelygenshingamer  5 місяців тому +19

      Ive actually always felt that because you pretty much only gain friendship lvl exp when spending resin (leyline deposits and domains mostly) and the leylines contain knowledge of everyone and eveything, then really they are gaining knowledge of the characters without them being told.
      This is further implied by the fact that one of Kaeya voicelines has him sounding surprised and even a bit annoyed that the traveler seems to already know that he's from khaenriah without being told.
      I really dont think the information in the stories is things that the traveler has been told. For example im pretty sure Wanderer has not told the traveler all about what Dotorre did to him. And Tartaglia only recently told the traveler about how he fell into the abyss as a child. He actually specifically said "I never told you this' when tell him about falling down there. The traveler just pretends not to know.
      Also going their separate ways does not mean they cant interact or work together from time to time, but Kaeya is a member of the Ragnvindr household any more and they do follow different paths in life.

    • @davidjohnson8273
      @davidjohnson8273 5 місяців тому +5

      I used to get a lot of friendship from that hill in Mondstadt that gives you 50% extra friendship compared to all the other "random" quest places that you get ten times a day. But even when spending resin the person has to be in the team.
      At any rate you try to interpret the statement to basically not mean anything so the Vision story can be interpreted as true. That's quite a stretch but I can see why that would be necessary.
      The problem is that it's not just that they apparently live together, eat together, work together, correspond with each other, go on vacation with each other, spend most of their free time in the same pub, in the same section of the pub and generally turn up together, but that on several occasions they seem to be collaborating very closely on important secret work.
      * In the manga Kaeya baits Dottore's servant into the basement where Diluc attacks him
      * in the manga Diluc distracts the servants of the Fatui envoy by attacking them and Kaeya "protects" them with his ice shield
      * in the game Kaeya provides cover for Diluc's Daknight persona
      * in the game Kaeya is hanging around outside the manor secretly when you're asked to read over Diluc's secret letters - some of which are from/to Kaeya
      These two are closer than Alhaitham and Kaveh. So the statement that they "have gone their separate ways" just seems super weird. Even directly after Diluc leaves to go on his 4 year walkabout after the death of his father, the one person he keeps up with is Kaeya. This ought to be the one time that he and Kaeya are most estranged but instead Kaeya is his confidante.
      Plus isn't it very convenient if everyone thinks they are estranged? It means they can cover for each other and play off each other while drawing less suspicion.
      Do you see any issue with the timing of Diluc giving up his Vision to the Knights, vs his supposed fight with Kaeya? Namely in the manga it seems like he gives away the Vision before the night of the death of his father and therefore couldn't fight Kaeya using it?

      And there are a tons of other similarities as well. :)
      For ex, one of Nightwing's listed 'superpower' is seduction. XD
      From Kaeya's constellation, and talents, this is a method Kaeya uses too. (Frostbiting embrace, Frozen kiss, Dance of Frost, Gltial waltz)
      Also, both Kaeya, and Nightwing have a lots of emotional intelligence. The way Kaeya can manipulate people around him is a testament of that. This is the reason Nightwing is such a good leader, and this is why almost every superhero in the superhero community trusts his judgement. (Dick can build relationships, trust)
      Also Kaeya may be or may not be a spy. Nightwing also worked as an undercover double agent for a spy organization called Spyral.
      Another similarity. Both of them tried to defy their fates. Kaeya is shackled by his ancestry, just like Dick Grayson/Nightwing.
      Nightwing was actually destined to be the tool/undead assassin of the Court of Owls, since his great grandpa was one of their 'Talons'. Dick was chosen as a kid to be the next 'Talon' Luckily the death of his parents happend, Bruce/Batman adopted him, and the Court left him alone (they didn't want to tip Batman off their existence)
      Later of course his great grandpa came for Nightwing and tried to force him to join the organization, but Dick was an adult by this time, and could protect himself. (later he was blackmailed into working for the Court tho;They used his little brother, Damian to control him)

Of course this would be wishful thinking maybe it was a mistake. I would probably check the way it was drawn in the manga compared to everyone else's to see if they maintained the difference. That would lend credence to the idea that it was deliberate.

    Could Kaeya’s age & ability to grow up - which shows him to not possess the curse be down to this:
    What if he was the natural son of Clothar hence the mentioning so much of the ‘illegitimate son’ & he was unable to be with Kaeya because he’s mad, lol, or whatever other reason so he went with Caribert.
    And what if Kaeya WAS cursed with immortality & lived as a hilichurl somewhere protected until the curse could be broken, and when they had the opportunity, they broke the curse, let him experience life until he was sent to Mondstatd
    Why are there not baby hilichurls?
    Maybe a tiny baby would be a normal hilichurl and then when the curse is removed, ( many years after we see Caribert in the dream sequence as the twin) Wouldn’t they turn into a baby human?
    Am I mad? Lol

    • @Gnidel
      @Gnidel 5 місяців тому

      What if Kaeya IS Caribert? The one we met wasn't real Caribert, just his consciousness, a copy or that would make Caribert's body amnesiac. I doubt Clothar would sacrifice Caribert, but copying him wouldn't be out of question. We also know that Caribert's consciousness looks are a result of him imagining himself as younger version of his dad.

      It says he was thinking about Khaenri’ahs plan to go to war with Mondstadt and whose side he should be on. It was implied that they have a beef with Mondstadt in specific.

      I thought that was a hypothetical cenario made up by kaeya like
      What if my perant devorce where woud i go ? But the perants don't devorce and don't plann do like a what if scenario
      Also in the calibert quest we go in the archive they changed his line abt why he thinks he's in mondstad
      In the ring des niebelung raihnmaidens and albrech have beef
      I asumed it's related to albedo cuz he's gods 'son' . In general mondstad is wierd considering klee mona albedo where just put there
      I daubt khaenri'ahans have the desier to destroy another nation kill venti oi more resonable/likly but destory mondstad woud be more albedo as he admits that can/will happen and hopes travler stopps him . And asuming they want to destroy mondstad why only mondstad and not other natios aswell ?

    • @theunlikelygenshingamer
      @theunlikelygenshingamer  5 місяців тому +2

      @@Owudukan its not likely that he made it up because the exact lines in his character story imply the plan he was sent to help facilitate was always on his mind " he was an agent of Khaenri'ah, placed in Mondstadt to serve their interests. His father had abandoned him in this strange and unknown land to fulfill this mission"
      If Khaenri'ah and Mondstadt went to war, which side should he support?"
      But now, Crepus' death upset this delicate balance. He felt liberated, but also ashamed of how selfishly he was responding."
      "... as their father lay dying on the ground, he had hung back behind his brother, that ancient plot running through his mind.
      The line about the ancient plot specifically shows he was privy to something that had been planned out and set in motion long ago.
      he felt bad that he was sort of happy that he didnt have to choose anymore. And in the Caribert quest he also noted that Dain telling him that his family founded the abyss order sort of confirms to him that his father put him Mondstadt to hide him.
      We dont know yet to hide him from what.
      I really hope the new quest sheds some light this.

    The truth about mondstat characters is they are not the important ones, they are just are first look into all the crazy concepts.
    Amy is no different, Lisa is no different, Bennet will be no different and kaeya will be no different
    Despite his extremely important status as a living khaenrian. He probably won't be relevant in the main story

      Except monstadt has characters with hella deep backstories that still has yet to be touched on.
      -Lisa being the best scholar from sumeru in decades
      -Albedo's creator being rhindottir
      -Venti being the most suspicious archon
      -Klee's mother being the most powerful mage in teyvat

    • @bloomiii7481
      @bloomiii7481 4 місяці тому +2

      The point of mondstadt characters is to have them introduced at the very beginning so that hoyo can have the player get invested in them over time and so they can slowly build their arcs. That is why you have so many lore relevent characters, both to hint at the "crazy concepts" but also to have their story arcs culminate in something really emotional because they have been around the longest. Mondstadt character arcs are a slowburn. (Also, Kaeya was the first non traveler character to be in the traveler main story quest AND the first character to interact with Dainslief. He is going to be an important part of khaenriah's story but we won't see that until we get to the khaenriah chapter, which is at the end.)
