Right now I'm drooling. When I went vegan 7 years ago I also watched the Sweetest Vegan. She made the transition much easier for me. I'm going to make these, maybe for my 74th birthday which is coming up the day after Christmas. Have a wonderful Christmas, Rose. Thanks for the reminder of sweet rolls and how great they are.
If you have more time for baking try this: Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour Roll it out, put the filling on top (add walnuts!!!!), roll and cut it Put each one on a baking tray (with a baking sheet), they should not touch each other Let that rise again for 1 hour in a warm place (without the foil) Put it in the oven Voila! I swear, walnuts are so so so good in cinnamon rolls (at least of you don't have any allergies to them)
My pastry chef husband says you SHOULD let it rise the second to avoid them becoming ‘a dense mess of dough’? He says letting them rise will make them fluffy and nice :)
YUMM. Drooling. Whenever you were rolling out the dough I would suggest kneading it for a little longer until it’s smoother and the dough springs back when you poke it. Then let it rest for like 15 mins and then roll it out flat. When you let the gluten relax it will not be as tense and will be easier to roll out! Also, the 30 minutes of letting them rise again makes them more fluffy! Hope this helps. Xoxo
The first rising lets the holdy together aspect of the dough develop, the kneading helps it too. It's what makes the difference between a powdery dense dough and a elasticy dough that will rise properly. The second rising makes it extra fluffy before baking even starts, since once it starts baking the rising gets limited a bit by how fast a crust develops. Letting it rise a bit just before baking gives you as much fluff as possible. -not a pro baker, i just bake at home a lot.
I’ve never got the super fluffy result she got but I make mine In my toaster oven and it always comes out really great even when I accidentally mess up the recipe. I’ve made this so many times, I highly recommend making this.
Looks great! Cooking Tip: If your Brown Sugar is like a rock put a slice of bread inside a sealed container with the sugar, and let it set overnight. No more rock! It works!
So smart!!! My brown sugar always becomes rock. I tried some trick with adding a damp paper towel and microwaving it but it didn't work. Thanks for your tip ❤️
You can also store your sugar in a container with a terra cotta brown sugar saver/keeper :) it's a piece of terra cotta that you soak in water. It absorbs moisture. You then press it into your brown sugar before storing. It keeps it super soft and moist.
Wow! Everyone is sharing recipes for yummy baked goods, and I haven't baked a damn thing this year. I did buy a pound cake mix, for Christmas dinner (with fruit sauce and vanilla yogurt),,,but I've been slacking off...no lie! I used to watch The Sweetest Vegan, and still watch the oldie videos cause they're so much fun...don't know if she's made any lately. Cinnamon rolls are, by nature, messy things to make. Yours turned out so well, be proud....Merry Christmas, Rose!
Instead of the second rise you can put the dough in a cold oven then turn it on and it will rise as the oven heats. As far as adding the extra flour it would just depend how sticky it comes out and how humid your environment is. You don’t want your dough sticking to your fingers or too stiff and dry. Merry Christmas Rose!
Hi! I made these, I did let them rise twice! They were a crowd pleaser! I handled the dough minimally to ensure that it would stay tender. It worked out perfectly!
This made me miss The Sweetest Vegan, one of my fav YT channels because of recipes like this one, which I likewise made too often when I first saw it! Thanks for the reminder about her recipe and for proofing the Tasty one!
In pastry, it's always better to let it down a little. Especially when you are using baking powder or substitutes. It's the same thing with pancakes or cakes... it will taste better because the dough will "grow" and be more airy. I always wanted to make some vegan cinamon rolls... hmm i hope i'll enjoy them quikly. Have a nice day Rose.
I did make these by the way! They came out super delicious and we ended up with 14 total which lasted quite a while! Next time, I would probably freeze some of them - I've read online that it's best to freeze them without the icing and to apply the icing after reheating.
i loved ‘the sweetest vegan’ too! she had a baby and was posting on a new channel for a while (mostly baby stuff) but i enjoyed watching anyway. she hasn’t even posted on her facebook for a year or two. i keep hoping she’ll start posting videos again ☺️
I like it when you follow others recipes :) it's super reassuring to see how it really turns out ! Now I know I can make these cause the recipe is gooood 😍❤️
I love this recipe! I have made it twice already and it’s always a success. Btw, just wanted to let you know that the icing ingredients on your website are listed wrong since it says “1 cup powdered sugar | 2 tbsp powered sugar”. 😁
Looks fresh and delicious but I don't like my stuff sweet. I just use simple ingredients which is.. Flour, Water, Ground Cinnamon and a little bit of sugar. My Cinnamon Rolls don't rise when I put them in the Oven which is something I really enjoy and is healthier. Most people don't like how I make my Vegan food because.. I don't add Sugar much or Salt to my food. Unsweetened Cinnamon Rolls is what I enjoy☺ Good video and god bless!
when your brown sugar gets hard, put a piece of bread, or a marshmallow in zip lock bag and then put the brown sugar in the bage squeeze out the air and it will soften
Just FYI, tasty video only put in 4 cups of flour initially then the half after letting it rest, the last half a cup was to dust the bench. Also letting it prove again after cutting and putting it into the pans lets it start to rise again making it more fluffy because when you roll it out, it knocks out all the air. Also if you roll it out and wait a couple of minutes, it should let you roll it out a bit more fairly easily. If you let it rest it stretches easier again.
if you lack brown sugar, add a tablespoon or so of molasses to a cup of white sugar ( check exact amounts) .......this is more or less the same as brown sugar, anyway.....the 'no knead' method for cinnamon buns ( by that Irish woman cook - forgot her name), i.e, mixing the dough with only a fork, and leaving it in the fridge for a day or two to become fluffy, lets you skip the kneading process altogether
Hey guys, it’s the sweetest vegan here! I remember watching her videos years ago. I think she still has her cooking channel, but changed the name! Remember finding it again like two years ago
Rose I've watched this video and the original video like 5 times each now and I finally get why your dough was dry-the original recipe only mixed 4 cups into the wet mixture, then used 1/2 a cup after letting it rise, then used the remaining 1/2 cup when kneading on the table-so 5 cups of flour in total! Not sure why the written recipe calls for more...
Marcela Cortes I am the same I would love to be able to bake but I am useless in that department but I wouldn't give up trying because I don't believe in giving up because I am going to try to bake them.
Glad I’m not the only one lol I feel dumb every time I fail at the recipe to the point that I blames the recipe 🙈 but I’m going to try to make them for breakfast on Christmas Day. Good luck to you too 😊
I miss the Sweetest Vegan. The last I heard she had a baby girl a few years ago and I followed her other channel she made when she documented her pregnancy, childbirth and she documented her life being a first time mom. I can't remember what her other channel is. I don't think she's been doing cooking videos recently. I hope she starts making her cooking videos again.
I made this today. But I didn't have enough vegan butter so I did it with coconut oil. And I didn't have almond milk so I did it with soy milk. And I forgot the salt. And I put 3/4 butter with the sugar and cinnamon instead of only 1/2 😑 BUT, this was very yummy though!!! The coconut oil add a little taste that marry very well with cinnamon. The next time, I will put less oil, and more milk I think, to make it less caloric 😉
Do y'all think you could do this up until you have to bake and then freeze or refrigerate instead? I need to bring these for Christmas but I need to make them at home lol
Court Lynn whenever my mom makes like a yeast based sweet bread she will double the recipe, and then make one loaf, then proof the other 3 and freeze them until she wants to make them
Megan Merritt no, she makes the rolls, proofs them and then freezes them. She pretty much makes it until the step you need to put in the oven, but freezes them instead. Bakes them straight from freezer, no thawing
I really want to try these delicious looking cinnamon rolls.I need to know how many grams of yeast is in the small package?where I live the yeast comes in larger bags so I will need to know by spoons or my measurements.Thanking you in advance.
Better for the liquid to be to cold when you put in the yeast og it wil die. Check the temperature by putting your pinkiefinger in it, and it should feel like you did not out it in anything (the same temperature as yourself)
HAHAHA! ROSE! I ALSO USE A WINE BOTTLE AS A ROLLING PIN! CHEAPER THAN BUYING A ROLLING PIN. I always have a bottle of wine around so why spend the money?!
Hey i just wanted to say that on your website you wrote somenthing wrong i think. Down by the icing you wrote 2 times powdered suger, one should be almond milk? Or am i wrong?
I would use Tasty's latest cinnamon roll recipe instead ua-cam.com/video/_Q0FYoCl4Cs/v-deo.html and replace the milk with almond and the butter with vegan butter. This updated recipe is way better and more detailed + it works great with vegan ingredients too!
About three days ago I made cinnamon rolls. Didn’t realize until halfway through that my yeast had expired. I decided to plow through anyway and hope for the best. First thing in nearly twelve years I’ve completely botched to pieces...yeah, they made me vomit. 😂 Getting some more yeast and trying again soon
You can keep your brown sugar in the freezer. Close the top good. When you take it out you can easily get out what you need..it is not rock hard either. I have done this for years.
lol I also use wine as a rolling pin now, because I didn't have a hammer to build my bookshelf with, so I used my rolling pin to hammer in the nails. The rolling pin did not survive. o.o
I would love to make these, but I would have to make them gluten free. Any tips on how to make gluten free? I'm new to the gluten free world. 🙂 thanks.

Stick the filling in the fridge or freezer and it'll firm up. If you don't let it rise the last time it'll be more dense.
Yesssss....easy to become vegan when you have delicious recipes like this!!!
Yessss!!! ❤️❤️❤️

What perfect timing!! I’m going to make vegan cinnamon rolls for my family as gifts!
Such a good gift!!
I was sitting here thinking the same thing!! 💜
I ❤ The Sweetest Vegan. She's so awesome.
Sooo sweet teehee ❤️
FYI when your brown sugar is really hard, stick it in the microwave with a cup of water next to it and it’ll soften up
Thank you so much for this idea, Rose! I already have these ingredients in my home, now I think I'll make some cinnamon rolls!
I did make these by the way! They came out super delicious and we ended up with 14 total which lasted quite a while! Next time, I would probably freeze some of them - I've read online that it's best to freeze them without the icing and to apply the icing after reheating.

I got it wrong, they do put 5 cups in maybe just not in the vid?
Whoop! Whoop! OMG can’t wait to make these! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
the Rose drawing is really fair/pink and you look so tanned in the video!
The extra flour is generally if the dough is too sticky after rising.
Perfect for this cold weather!

2:14 Fleischmann is German and means meat man lol
In Germany this name isn't uncommon but it's funny that they use it in other countries...
VIVIEN SOPHIE fleischman / fliescher is super common last name of people from European Jewish descent and its also a yeast brand :)
If you put a piece of bread into your brown sugar bag overnight it'll soften your sugar right up so it's like brand new. Amazing magic 😁
I think adding cream cheese to the frosting would be great!
yummy : )
can u use coconut oil ?
