I have a 3 ft x 5.5 ft church window that needs repair on the 2 outside layers of border glass because it is breaking away from the old wood frame. This is not a church repair but for someone who got it at a salvage place. I got it out the frame and have it laying on my table with the reinforcing bars face up. When fixing old leaded windows I wondered why the outside lead was always very soft, I didn’t realize it was lead and not zinc. I want to know how to turn this large window over to solder the other side and how I manage with the reinforcing bars still attached. I don’t know how to send you the photos.

You have to detach the bar. It's not a big job to reattach it at the very end. I'm guessing if you are talking about zinc your are in the US. In the UK we would only expect lead.
