I’ve been using the 13 pro max for the past few days. First off this is my first NEW NEW iPhone. I upgraded from a 7 plus. So the camera upgrades for me and pretty much all the upgrades over all are insane! Also the battery life on the Pro Max is AMAZING. I can go all day just on one charge. However if I were to go back and choose again. I would probably go with the normal size Pro instead of the Pro max. I thought since I already had a 7 plus that I would be used to the Max’s size plus I wanted the iPhone with the biggest and best battery life. However this generation’s iPhone maxs are huge! Almost feels like a mini iPad mini. I mean the screen size is great for watching content as well as light photo and video editing. However it just feels a little cumbersome to use. I still LOVE the Pro Max. It’s an amazing phone. But if apple continues making their Pros and Pro Maxs the same in terms of cameras and features. Then next time I upgrade it will probably just be the regular pro. Just to downsize a little bit. Otherwise if you want an iPhone with the absolute best battery life, the Pro Max is the way to go.
I love your videos matti but something is still off with the iPhone skin tones in these videos, it’s like this orange effect, is it just me? I’m watching on an iPhone 12 Pro
I actually went BACK to my 8 plus, I know some people may think its a downgrade but for some reason to me photos seem more real, more color accurate. at one point my kids looked like they had fake tans😂 also my 12 pro max and 12 mini would dim the display everytime the phones got hot or were being charged. I dont have that issue with my older phone anymore
iPhone 13 mini is the under dog champ. Battery life of the 12 pro with the Camera System of the 12 Pro Max which was a phenomenal camera system. These cameras are gonna continue to be great for years to come and while the new Pro lineup is impressive and definitely an improvement it is not that much of an improvement to warrant having a brick in your pocket. Since rumors are going around that next year there wont be a mini I’m going to enjoy my 13 mini until greater significant improvements are made to the camera system… and then I’ll wait for the mini version of that ;-) Great video Matti, greetings from da Bronx!

I have had the 13 pro for 3 days and my mind is BLOWN! Stabilization, image quality, refresh rates - they all make a huge difference in my personal opinion! Great video mate!
For me, no matter how good the pro camera features are, my DSLR is always going to be better, so whenever I'm in a situation where I would need the pro features, I would just have my camera anyway. So it's good yeah, but for me PERSONALLY not a reason to buy it.
Flange distance! iPhones can only replicate the physics of flange distance so far before we reach into uncanny valley territory. It’s one of those things that makes the iPhone portrait/cinematic mode look fake. Once you see that the “vanishing point” doesn’t line up with the bokeh, you can’t unsee it.
I’m probably going to upgrade from a Xs Max. Matti really nails it with the form factor discussion. An iPhone will go places a DSLR simply won’t and it’s always in your pocket.
this! i‘d say everyone who thinks of doing a video project or film, doesn’t decide so spontaneously but rather plans to. and in that case, anyone who would purposely pick his phone instead of his camera-rig just wants to make it more difficult for himself. so, yes, the best camera is the one you always carry with you, but for me, that only counts for quick snaps and stuff. everything in a professional environment is planned anyway.
I used to shoot with dslr while travelling, the result was so good but it was so heavy, phone camera’s quality definitely can’t compare with dslr but it’s just so convenient! No right or wrong, just see what you want to sacrifice and how professional you want to be. :)
I’m going with the pro max. I am well overdue for an update (currently sporting the X) and am picking up my UA-cam channel again. My eyes are getting old and I hope the max will be easier to see.
My feeling is that the 120 Hz will translate to the Apple AR Glass at some point, less laggy for displaying animation. The 13 Pro feels super solid especially the wide and ultra wide, but cinematic bokeh blur with 3X zoom is impressive.
It makes sense that there aren't HDR in the cinematic mode. That's because the iPhone need to record 60 fps for HDR 30 fps to work. Half of them are exposed normal and the second half is under exposed
Under certain conditions, these cameras make your skin look like a flat orange canvas. Maybe with filmic pro this wouldn’t happen? Other than that being able to have such high quality video in a completely autonomous device, without the bulk of the device or the operator, it just opens a whole new world of resources and possibilities.
12:38 I think that´s beacuse if you film for instance in 30 fps in normal video the iphone is gonna be recording two videos. One underexposed and one overexposed and then combine them to make the hdr look but maybe it doesn´t do that in cinematic mode.

Excellent marketing, the guy lives in a chic house, forest, mountains, there is where to take photos for instagram, and what will a poor American shoot while living in a squalid town, working at a factory and living a poor life, what should he photograph? dumpsters, homeless people? cities where there is a lot of garbage and drug addicts, what to photograph? this is a pampering for the rich who do not care about everything and out of boredom they make their photos "crazy" and not social!
Interesting to know that the telephoto lens is your least used lens on the iPhone. For me, I use the telephoto lens as much as I use the wide lens. Ultrawide is my least used lens. I have the 11 Pro Max
Apple made a silly mistake on these with the telephoto camera. It would have been much more useful in the 50 to 60mm equivalent range with a wider aperture.
Hey. I plan on going with either Pro or Pro Max. I have till April 2022 to make a decision. I can't upgrade (well my family thinks it's a waste of money to pay $277.06 in order to pay it off). I'm coming back from a Samsung galaxy note 10 phone. The cameras and battery life are the reasons of why I want to switch, plus it would make my life easier. I own a m1 macbook pro and if I film on the Samsung, it is a pain to get the video to transfer. Anyways, I enjoyed the video. Thanks for the content.
I actually upgraded from my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the 13 pro max and yes the cameras are amazing I choose the 13 mostly because I like having a big screen with me
I am seriously considering selling off my Sony ZV-1 and just go with the camera on the 13 Pro as my primary for UA-cam and vlogging; I agree that wow, the cameras have improved markedly, and the convenience of having the one camera that’s always with you makes it that much more compelling. My only concern is transferring the footage from the camera to my devices, since, well, Lightning as opposed to USB-C. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for this!
The new cameras look great, certainly usable for UA-cam and Instagram. BUT it would be WAY cooler if they added a mic input to the new phones. Having the ability to attach a mic while charging with a battery pack would make this a content creation powerhouse! And I still want a headphone port so I don't have to worry about keeping my headphones charged. I feel like Apple focuses on features and never on user experience. But I'm still rocking an iPhone 7 so this might be time to upgrade

I have made it a mission to never buy a "big boy camera" and only stick to creation strictly ton Apple products, from taking notes, drawing, illustrating on an iPad, notes, measurements, photos, videos, communication on the iPhone, and final production on a mobile MacBook Pro while be driven around hopefully in an Apple Car someday, but currently still using HotSpot.

@@reivenvirgo4306 I thought at first that it might be too large to fit in my pockets, but I haven’t had that issue yet. I have been playing video games, watching UA-cam, but I haven’t used it to edit photos. I did that on my iPad mini. I have used it to take photos and videos also and don’t feel like it is too big and heavy to shoot with. Talking on the phone isn’t that odd either. Honestly after about a week, you get use to the bigger size. Some jeans might become a problem if you try to put the phone in your front pocket, but I usually put mine in my back pockets. It fits but still sticks out from the top a little bit. I hope this helps you. If you feel like the phone will be too large you can always go with the Pro. The only main difference between the two is battery life.

I have no idea why UA-camrs recommend upgrading from 12 to 13. There is like 0 difference if you look at photos. I would suggest them to make a comparison to see how little difference there is
I got the 13 pro, best decision I’ve made this year I think. Wide angels is absolutely amazing. I don’t always carry my DSLR with me so I went the pro simply to have the best pocket sized camera I could have.
Love Your channel but buying any phone for filming is quite pointless IMHO I'm gonna stick with my Moto One Vision and Pocket 4k. Even Old RX100m3 still smokes any Iphone today...

Lots of orange, and some skin smoothing. I stopped filming on the 12 and 13 Pro for this reason. It’s a little better on the 13, but not by much.

Apple did mention on ios update they’ll allow user to choose whether macro is toggled. Just get the pro for you, better aperture, macro mode.

I got the 13 pro. Big fan of the display and the cameras are nice too. Way better battery life than my 12 pro. Been using it almost a week now

If you check the models out in person the Pro's camera and video is way superior to the the mini and 13. Shame they are so much more expensive.

The stabilization is different on the 12 pro max and 13 pro / pro max. It's a different system.

I have used it to take photos and videos also and don’t feel like it is too big and heavy to shoot with. Talking on the phone isn’t that odd either. Honestly after about a week, you get use to the bigger size. Some jeans might become a problem if you try to put the phone in your front pocket, but I usually put mine in my back pockets. It fits but still sticks out from the top a little bit. I hope this helps you. If you feel like the phone will be too large you can always go with the Pro. The only main difference between the two is battery life.

iPhone produces for just good looking image for most of people, but some people need more than just good looking image then going to step into bottomless swamp...
I have no idea why UA-camrs recommend upgrading from 12 to 13. There is like 0 difference if you look at photos. I would suggest them to make a comparison to see how little difference there is
I got the 13 pro, best decision I’ve made this year I think. Wide angels is absolutely amazing. I don’t always carry my DSLR with me so I went the pro simply to have the best pocket sized camera I could have.
