We’re on a 4 night, so yes I had pre-planned and woke up at 5am to get our reservations! Gunbae, Pink Agave and Extra Virgin booked, the 4th night we’re planning the early Another Rose then a late night pizza. Razzle Dazzle and Wake for brunch so just missing the Test Kitchen… but we have got an 11 night coming up so we’re not really missing out… and we plan to make friends with a Black Band 🤣 cheers guys! 🍸
We have two back to back cruises this November and December. This will be our 2nd and 3rd on Virgin. We forgot all about asking for the specials in restaurants on our first. Thanks for the reminder. We won’t forget it this time. We think Virgin is the best cruise line ever! We love that there are no kids and we love the atmosphere. So many types of people and everyone was nice and enjoyable. Great video!!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed us and it’s reminded you to ask for the specials 😂 (we forgot on our last cruise too, after this video 😂🙈)! Hope you have the next time on your back to back cruises! We hope to do one some time 🤞🏻
On our first VV cruise, we made friends with Reeces Pieces on a sailing out of Barcelona and got invited to a secret event. It was great!!! We are booked for the Scarlet Lady for NYE and just for Christmas, too!
Is there a shaded area to lounge in around the pool? I don't remember there being an inside pool or solarium like on other cruise ships. I can't do the sun thing; I melt into a mound of goo.
Correct, there’s no indeed pool (well, apart from in the spa), but that’s more of a big hot tub. There’s shaded areas each side of the pool, underneath the overhang of deck 16. I (Mark) also melt in the sun 😂
Yes, you are lovely people! We have not seen a Gourmet Galley. We've done 6 sailings but not a transatlantic, so maybe it's a transatlantic thing? We're doing one in Nov and will watch for it. Water bottles: I bring two - one for water, one to fill up at Richard's Rooftop during the happy hour. Great tips!
Thank you! So glad you found it useful! One thing to note, I think we mention about ship eats in this video - things have changed since filming. They now have a minimum spend in order to get the free delivery. The minimum is $10.
When you plug a US (110 I THINK) appliance into an EU (220 I THINK) socket, the appliance is likely to get ruined. This MAY NOT be the case anymore, but in the 90’s, my dad plugged his electric razor into an EU socket and it fried it. It didn’t catch on fire, but it never worked again.
Thanks for this. I've watched lots of Virgin Voyage videos by my fav. UA-camrs, and they didn't mention any of the things you guys did! Now I know what not to do. Joining in is not my thing. So I will be avoiding a lot of activities. Thanks for the head's up.
You’re very welcome, glad you found it useful! A virgin voyage really is what you make it, plenty of chill out places for relaxing and quiet time away from the ‘forced fun’ if that tickles your pickle, equally very inclusive if you fancy dipping your toe into some of the activities.
Food festival last year was a great time. Happenings cast are one of the most unique parts of V V. Pink Agave is a must. Gumbae was a less than great experience- it is very dependent on the server and the other guests. Great job with the lasers! Really enjoy your videos. ☮
you guys are the best…am taking my first VV and first cruise end of March on new Scarlet. What time would you recommend booking dinner so you get to see the shows before…not sure of if i need to leave 2 hours or less for dinner (not the galley obvs)
Thank you so much! Glad you’re enjoying watching us. The popular shows usually run twice a night (7ish and 10ish), but you’d want to get there early to avoid missing out (for the first come first served shows). Service is ‘usually’ pretty quick in the restaurants, and if you tell your server that you have a show to get to they’ll usually try to speed things up if needed. We tend to see the later timed shows if we want to eat before hand. That way you can eat at 6/7ish and not have to rush. Also, if once you get onboard you find you’ve booked a restaurant with an awkward time for a show, they’re squally good at moving your dining reservation. So always ask. ❤️
Most shows on Virgin are first come first served now and they can fill up quite early. Would probably recommend getting there about 30 mins or so before? The dinner shows need to be booked though :) Thanks for watching :)
Hey - pretty much yes. Although, as with anything it depends on the agent you get. The only thing we don’t think they have much leeway with is shore things and some of the exercise classes, because they have finite numbers so once they’re gone they’re gone
Guys you've made me smile throughout your video. Our first VV is the short Comedy Voyage on 14th Sept on Valiant lady and No 2 is on Scarlet Lady 24th October. I'd love to say hi it if you were on one of these? xx
So glad you enjoyed it, and hope you found it useful. We aren’t on those sailings unfortunately! Hope you have the best time, and hopefully we get to say hello in person at some point xx
Guys, I'm weak😂😂 youre hilarious and very entertaining We're trying our first VV this September and can not wait Fantastic tips for us newbies Thanks, now i must check out your other vlogs❤
😂😂 thank you so much! We’re so glad you enjoyed it! We really enjoyed filming this one 🥳! How exciting that you’ll be on your first VV sailing soon!! Very envious! ❤️
I have sailed with them multiple times and my next sailing is in 40 days. Believe it or not I have never tried ship eats. We may try it this time. Thank you!
Greetings from North Carolina! My husband and I are Virgin virgins and we're sailing this March for a 10 day voyage as Rockstar. My question: as a Rockstar, do you get "preferential treatment" in the queues for the shows or for show seating? Not trying to be an elitist, just trying to squeeze all the juice out of the Rockstar thing lol
Hello :) That’s so exciting! The answer is yes :) There is always a separate rockstar queue for the shows, which gets let in first so you have the best pick of seats. You also get priority disembarkation at the end too, and usually priority boarding for getting back onto the ship at ports along the route - just find a staff member and show them your black band :) Where are you heading on your sailing?
Oh awesome, thank you for the explanation! So we'll be sailing out of Puerto Rico and going to 7 ports, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados, Martinique, St. Vincent, Tortola, Antigua. I can't wait but, Lord, I'm going to get so fat lol.
That sounds like a fab itinerary! Hope you have the best time - please let us know what you thought when you’re off :) And it is very easy to gain weight with all the amazing food haha
Hi guys, we are boarding Scarlet lady on the 1st September in a MRS Suite, looking forward to it and really enjoying your tips and hints, much appreciated, thank you 🤩
Very funny and informative content! We've been on four voyages with Virgin and still learned a thing or two. Did anyone ever tell you that you are doppelgangers of Ewan McGregor and one of the Property Brothers!
Glad to hear it! Thank you :) And funnily enough - we do get those comparisons! Mark certainly gets more comments about looking like Ewan than I do about the property brother though haha
We are going on our first VV cruise in September, the Comedy fest one. We’ve done 55 cruises with other lines and are looking forward to the different way Virgin operates. We are both 70, will we “fit in”?
Hi :) We wish we had done that many cruises! Haha. You will absolutely fit in. Virgin market themselves to the ‘young at heart’ so physical age is no barrier. Some of the best people we’ve met onboard have been in their 60s and 70s :)
Thinking about taking first Virgin cruise on Transatlantic from San Juan to Barcelona in April. I mainly decided on Virgin because of the food! It looks yummy and upscale! Going as a solo traveler. Any suggestions?
Hi there :) First of all, if you haven’t booked yet, please consider using our referral link - it directs you to the website so you get all the current deals, it just shows Virgin that someone booked after watching one of our videos :) The link is - jerne.to/3AVc69g . As for your question, a few initial suggestions would be to find and join a Facebook group for your voyage and introduce yourself. Sometimes other solo travellers will be on there and organise meet ups. Go on the grog walk on the first night if you drink alcohol and want to meet new people - it’s a fab way to do that right at the start of the cruise. And look on the line up of activities - virgin usually organise solo sailor meet ups :) Hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)
@@TheDoddolds my boyfriend and i are doing the greek island glow next july - 20-27 july :) In your experience are there many other lgbt solos/couples onboard? 😊
Absolutely, Virgin Voyage sailings are one of the most inclusive for LGBT solos and couples. So you find quite a few of the community are very loyal to the brand. It’s a lovely safe space. 🤗
Thank you so much, and thanks for watching. We’d recommend The Wake (steak and sea food), Pink Agave (Mexican), or Test Kitchen (tasting menu experience) for something a little fancier for a special occasion. Depending on your food preference. ❤️
The Grog Walk sounds like a great way to meet people, but I don't drink. Is there anything similar on Virgin for us teetotalers? Also, I know you need to book Dinner and Brunch (or try to), but do you need to book Lunches in the restaurants that serve it?
You can request non-alcoholic beverages during the grog walk, but it’s still $50 so not the greatest value for money, and I suppose it depends if you mind being surrounded by drinkers/drunks 😂. Outside of that, there are usually social meet ups onboard called “friends of Bill W” for teetotallers periodically through the voyages, if that’s more your thing. Yes I believe you still have to book for lunch time slots. Although we’ve never done it, we usually grab a lighter bite during the day at the sun club cafe, the dock, the social club or the galley (no reservations needed for these).
I wish the special teas cahi and macha would be added to ship eats. There are loads of coffee optiona, but only regular tea options. I also wish there were more vegetarian options in the ship eats app. Thanks foe the info.
What about the special menu items of Richard’s rooftop? I hear there is sushi (nigiri) offered there, coming from Sun Club Cafe but only for Richard’s rooftop… did you try it?
We didn’t try it, we aren’t sushi fans. But our friends on board had it and the vegetarian sushi options in Richard’s and said it was lovely (some of the next sushi they’d had)!
Planning restaurants is all very nice IF you are a Rock Star. But by the time the 40 day mark rolls around, the only slots left are after 9.30pm. We are on Resilient Lady this Sunday 29th Oct so fingers crossed your info works out for us plebs :)
We followed our own advice on our most recent voyage and managed to book our restaurants when we boarded. Just make sure it’s the first thing you do when you get onboard :) Hope you have a fab time :)
I made reservations and several of them have been canceled. We leave this Sunday. Not really impressed so far but I am hoping there are plenty of grab and go options if needed. Not a rockstar… obviously 😊
That would be sooooooo annoying. I don’t like the whole having to book restaurants days in advance it’s so annoying. Sometimes you just want to go and eat something at any time
You guys are adorable! Your nipple lasers are fabulous! You need to shoot them off, ahem, more often however! We're planning a trip now and I'm getting more and more excited watching all the different youtubers and the Virgin stuff. We're Virgin Virgins and hope to be pros like you guys someday! Lovely content gents!
Brilliant video. Really practical for our upcoming cruise. We will be rewatching before we go. I also want to shoot lasers from my 'fingernips'. What software did you use for that 😂👍
😂 thank you! I just use iMovie, and then add keyframes to make it look like the picture of a laser has moved. Bit fiddly, but we all like a fiddle! One thing we didn’t mention in the video…. If you’re after snacky bits for lunch, as well as sun club cafe, and the galley, the dock has some great tapas options. There’s defo some fishy seafood veggie options too. 👍🏻
It will blow up/melt your appliances if you plug a US appliance into the UK socket. I used to live in Europe and had to invest in all new appliances and left mine at home in the US
Where’s the fun in that 😂. Personally., we’ve always enjoyed getting to know the staff, they’re always very friendly. Each to their own I suppose though ☺️.
First of I was literally lol and truly appreciated your tips! My husband and I have never been on a cruise, ever! We're very excited to do a VV and your videos are so helpful but moreso entertaining! We are sailing February 2025 from San Juan and curious if you have any tips about port days re: how long does it take to get off the ship for tours and such?
Thanks so much for watching and glad you enjoyed it :) Getting off the ship really depends tbh, it’s hard to say. If you have a VV booked shore thing though it’s usually quite smooth and you get a number to wait on the ship and then you get off when they call your number :)
We’ve always taken a hair dryer on board with us, and not had any issues. Interesting 🤔. Not heard of others having issues either, is this something you experienced?
@@TheDoddolds interesting...must be ok on virgin, which I haven't done.. Usually anything with a heating element is confiscated as you get on. I've walked by many tressle tables with hair dryers kettles, extension cables etc on them.
Very interesting indeed. Yeah maybe they’re just a bit more relaxed, although I know Virgin do confiscate irons, steamers, extension cords etc. Will see if we’re still ok with our hair dryer in a few weeks 😂
Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it. It’s something we’ve actually been thinking about, and are currently working on a different space in the house for filming (one that’s less echoey than the kitchen 😂), but it’s not ready just yet. Thanks for watching 🤗
Not too sure of the intent behind this comment, but we’re actually very proudly gay, so if a simple friendly greeting is all it takes to unveil our sexuality, then we’ll take that as a win :)
Edit on tip number 5 : Ship Eats delivery is now $10, but is still waived with a purchase.
Thanks for the info!
And is it true it's ANY purchase for which there is a charge? I saw a Ship Eats menu on VV Insider and a single espresso is only $3, so would that provide complimentary food? Looking forward to my first cruise in January and doing the sailaway party and asking about specials in the restaurants. Thank you so much! ❤

Fab tip!! We often do that. Or grab soft drink cans from some of the bars (Sip for example, and take those back to our cabin too).
is the charge form this from bar tab or loot please?

Test Kitchen not only has the two menus but also an alternate version to each menu (addressing one’s food restrictions). So, on our last cruise I opted to have the alternate dishes for each course of menu 1.

And look on the line up of activities - virgin usually organise solo sailor meet ups :) Hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)
@@TheDoddolds my boyfriend and i are doing the greek island glow next july - 20-27 july :)
In your experience are there many other lgbt solos/couples onboard? 😊
Absolutely, Virgin Voyage sailings are one of the most inclusive for LGBT solos and couples. So you find quite a few of the community are very loyal to the brand. It’s a lovely safe space. 🤗
@@TheDoddolds Even if we’re flying BA to join the cruise? 😅🫣
Great video! Where would you recommend dining for a special event like an anniversary?
Thank you so much, and thanks for watching. We’d recommend The Wake (steak and sea food), Pink Agave (Mexican), or Test Kitchen (tasting menu experience) for something a little fancier for a special occasion. Depending on your food preference. ❤️
These are the best tips!!!!
Thanks so much! Glad you found them useful!
You are both fantastic! I hope to meet you on a future Virgin Voyage!!
Thank you!! ❤️! Oh that would be fun, shout up if you see us! 🥂
@@TheDoddoldsPretty sure the friends of Bill W are Alcoholics Anonymous meetings..
I wish the special teas cahi and macha would be added to ship eats. There are loads of coffee optiona, but only regular tea options. I also wish there were more vegetarian options in the ship eats app. Thanks foe the info.
Good points! Ship eats does seem quite meat heavy! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment ❤️
😂😂 so glad you enjoyed it! Ooo how exciting!! Virgin will pull you in, and then you’ll be pros before you know it! 🤗
They give away free badges?! I love badges! Those are so cute! I guess my mission on my next cruise is to be all their BFF! :D
😂😂 they do indeed! I think they only have a few each day to give out, so good luck!! 🥳
It will blow up/melt your appliances if you plug a US appliance into the UK socket. I used to live in Europe and had to invest in all new appliances and left mine at home in the US
🤯that’s crazy!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Fun guys good tips
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and found it useful.
Australia calls them power points not socket
I think we swap between Socket, outlet, and power points in the UK 😂. We don’t like to keep things simple 😂.
Thanks for watching 🤗
Thanks for those recommendations. Like your videos! New subscriber. 👍
You’re very welcome, and thank you so much for the sub! Glad you’re enjoying our videos 🤗
Thanks from Canada
You are so welcome! ❤️
Great video! How did we make friends with these lovely black band people 😂
😂😂😂 keep your eyes peeled and then FOLLOW THEM TO THE BAR 😂😂
Glad you enjoyed the video 🤗
Yay... Cheers!!
Cheers to you too! Happy Friday! ❤️
Great top tips guys but where was the special guest (the cute pooch) 😂 vvinsider is amazing to
Thank you! 🥳! Oh she was in the other room, must have gotten bored of our ramblings and didn’t bother to show her face 😂😂
Not sure about mixing with the staff. You can probably get those pins on Temu and cover your bag with them without the agro.
And you can't take hairdryers onboard.....only hair straighteners...they do confiscate...
Hair dryers are included in the Virgin voyage cabins. You don't need to bring one.
The audio part can be improved
A noice cancelation mic of a room with less echo would be a much appreciated improvement
Thank you for the feedback, we really appreciate it. It’s something we’ve actually been thinking about, and are currently working on a different space in the house for filming (one that’s less echoey than the kitchen 😂), but it’s not ready just yet.
Thanks for watching 🤗
Wow, I almost could not tell that were gay by the way they waved and said “hi everyone”.
Not too sure of the intent behind this comment, but we’re actually very proudly gay, so if a simple friendly greeting is all it takes to unveil our sexuality, then we’ll take that as a win :)
An Asian what now?
It’s been a while since we published this and honestly can’t think what you might be referring to 😂
