Nice video Jason , looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I will go up there one of these days for sure I think you can do a SOTA and POTA at the same time .
Thanks! It had a bunch of noise on HF up there by all the cell towers and what not. It was great on VHF & UHF. Making contacts on 146.520MHz was like shooting fish in a barrel. lol
Nice video Jason. I like the elevation/timeline overlay..Pretty slick. It was good to meet the group for Winter FD up on Diablo! If you guys need some assist with converting the logs to cabrillo format (or direct adif) for uploading, please let me know. There's also a few things that we can talk about regarding the number of simultaneous xmtrs on the air ("Class"). Some N6W ops reported "14, Oscar", and others "10, Oscar". Maybe we can also talk about the additional Section Lists (like VE and DX), front end mixing products/qrn from the local commercial tower, current prop condx, and what bands work for local day/nite in preparation for Summer FD. 73, n6spp
Very Cool! I believe that's how The Green Donkey got started too. He goes up there a lot and has a channel too. Check it out: ua-cam.com/channels/OjjIROB7XWmkcPqpMmAKvA.htmlfeed And here's his older channel that has a lot of CBing.
Hey! Just got into ham radio a couple weeks ago. Passed my tech. exam and found your channel. I'm actually right here in Concord at the base of Mt Diablo. I'd love to come out with you guys next time and see what this contest stuff is all about.
Excellent video Jason! I had a chuckle at the "it's not too cold, my car is showing 50 degrees (F). Here we just had a 40 degree Celsius (104F) day just after our Summer Field Day!
Greetings from SA. That's awesome... Can I ask what software did you use to edit this video? I'm running the hamradio club here In my town called GRATE "Hamradio group of Teresopolis" and your video is an inspiration for me. Congrats and 73 PY1CG Carlos.
Thank you Carlos! I use Final Cut Pro X on my older 2011 iMac. I'm in the process of building a custom PC and I will then be switching to Adobe Premiere Pro. 73 KM6FAK/Jason

My home! From Antioch, can see Mount Diablo from there, me and friends would go to the top and talk on our cbs back in the early 90s.

Hey Hayden, Thanks! Yup, our summers and winters are 180 degrees from one another. Summer in January does sound odd :)
@@HamRadioTV Winter in January sounds odd haha!
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that radio makes everyone sound younger than they seem
The inner child comes out to play.
Yup, it's like trying to judge a book by its cover. Although in your case, we all assume your a lot older. lol
Fantastic video. Looks like you all had a blast. De W8APP
Thank You! It was a lot of work, but did not feel like it at all.
Looks like it was an awesome event...Shout out to Nick W6NIK..I'm Nick ZR6NIK - Johannesburg South Africa.
It was a lot of fun! Oh, shoot. I will have to let Nick know.
@@HamRadioTV thanks Jason, have a grand week further and best 73's to you and yours.

Rock'n and roll Jason 🤙🤙🤙
Nice video.
Thank You!
Is that Joe Walsh of the Eagles inside the car?
HA! No. That is Jim NN6EE. He is a legend in his own mind and will tell you if you ever catch him on the air.
Is it not ok to have those radios outside? Are they not for indoor use only?
I don't see the difference, outside or inside when the weather is nice. I've always liked to play with my toys outside :)
@@HamRadioTV Just that every manual I have read says do not expose to outside weather.
Very Good video! Thanks for all of the Interesting, good work. de UA1CCE
