Nice instructions Deano. Trev had another technique that he used when the wind was manageable. That was to position yourself on the weedbed or edge, throwing your lure into the wind and bringing it back towards the edge. The theory was that it would imitate a baitfish heading towards the weeds for cover. We slayed them that way on some nights...

nice one mate, have done similar for bass. would be keen as to try it on the mundis. easier to keep your lure tracking at depth coming up the slope as well.

Hey mate, do you anchor up at a point like that or use an electric motor? If you anchor up, what type of anchor do you run to hold you on that weed bottom? Cheers

depends on the wind and waves mate, much prefer to use spot lock on my trolling motor. There isn't any weed out where you ned to put a physical anchor but you will need a substantial size plough anchor and plenty of chain as the bottom is pretty soft. running a bungy on the front of your boat helps to stop pulling the anchor as well.

how long would you stay on that point before you move? Are you waiting for a bite time (eg.moonrise, tide)?

yes mate, waiting on one of those triggers to show me they should be moving. If nothing is coming through within the twenty mins leading up to a bite window i would quickly relocate to another point and try there.
