For me, this reminds me to live my own life whenever I start getting obsessed with politics and current events. Especially nowadays with all this media, its easy to get caught up in all the suffering and corruption in the world, I start taking it too seriously, it stresses me out and this is becoming my go-to song to help me relax and remind me to stay grounded in the present moment, life is short and its the end of the world for some people every day.
Never thought I would be so mesmerized by music as I was with Early Dylan, but this man is maybe even better. Dylan got a Nobel Prize a few years back. Howard might well get the next one. Add the brilliant Fingerstyle guitar work, and it adds up to the best singer-songwriter of this generation. And I just heard him for the first time 3 days ago. My loss, now corrected. Way better than I have been lately.
The strength of a melody coupled to words that go straight to the heart. Ben makes each song a different experience. Thank you for being the person and the artist you are. Inspiring. This said, is it a shared feeling that his presence is different since the Burgh Island EP, seems as though something has changed in his smile and in the way he shares his happiness. It is conceivable that these last three years have been wearying for him and the band. I wish them to continue as they do and to have all that energy they so greatly share in every performance. See you in December in Paris.
I met him at Falmouth, i couldnt get tickets but i know someone who is friends with one of ben's band and we got put on the guest list and went backstage! Ben was really lovely and warm and grounded.
Christopher Gettins I personally like the electric version better. To me it has more emotion in it, not to say this version doesn't. Both sound amazing
Why "I forget where we were"? Ben: I think it sort of summarises a lot of things that were going on, I think a lot of things, mm sort of general lack of understanding with popular culture. Ok, thanks Ben.....
Pablo Sprake "The blind leading the bored" - popular culture. It is exactly what he said it was. British reserve and humour. I think it's autobiographical, and it's aimed at someone he loves - quite the beautiful love song to say "sorry I take things seriously, I love you for how you rise above it."
[Verse 1] Oh hey, I wasn't listening I was watching Syria Blinded by the sunshine strip And you, you were in the kitchen Oh your mariner's mouth The wounded with the wounder's whip [Bridge] And that's how summer passed: The great dividing range, the green, green grass And oh, maybe it was peace at last Who knew [Chorus] Then, hello love My invincible friend Oh, hello love The thistle and the burr Oh, hello love For you I have so many words But I, I forget where we were, no [Verse 2] Oh hey, I wasn't listening I was stung by all of us The blind leading out the bored And as per usual You were skipping and laughing Eyes at the bedroom door "Don't take it so seriously, no Only time is ours, the rest we'll just wait and see!" Maybe you're right, babe Maybe [Bridge] That's how summer passed: The great dividing range, the green, green grass And oh, maybe I'll hold on fast To you
***** baahh bahhhh how dare people have different opinions on music than I do, they must be stupid because I can't comprehend people having different taste I'd rather concern myself with blending into the crowd. Get some self confidence you fucking idiot.
Time is dancing is actually a really dark song, the whole album is dark but I fucking love it. There's not one singer songwriter that I'm aware of writing music as ambitious and honest as this. This is complex shit, not just your four chord 1 5 6 4 chord progression pop shite.
How ridiculously good is this guy? Been listening for over 3 years now and just can't get enough. Soul provoking!
"The wounded with the wounder's whip" --- what a line.
I've never heard the original song but those are some of the most beautiful lyrics I've listened to in a long time
Thankyou for watching :)
This song really helped me get over a rough break up. It'll always have a lot of meaning for me.

+Jay bizness this is literally my life hahahah

This comment, coupled with the music and lyrics occupying it, really made me stop in my tracks and reflect for a moment. Thank you.

Welcome along. He will not disappoint you. I've been listening for 10 or more years and I still find my self looking through old videos of his.
The quality and tone of the guitar in this sound so beautiful
This will always be one of my top favorite songs 🫶🏼
Is it just me or is acoustic always better?
+Maja Lindqvist I agree with this comment 100%.
It's definately more intimate, which never ceases to give me that warm and tickly feeling.
100% agree. Acoustic versions are always better, full with emotion.
Always
Always

Pablo Sprake You go write songs and then try to explain them to people. It's harder than you think.
Noah McDaniel I was just joking man..
[Verse 1]
Oh hey, I wasn't listening
I was watching Syria
Blinded by the sunshine strip
And you, you were in the kitchen
Oh your mariner's mouth
The wounded with the wounder's whip
[Bridge]
And that's how summer passed:
The great dividing range, the green, green grass
And oh, maybe it was peace at last
Who knew
[Chorus]
Then, hello love
My invincible friend
Oh, hello love
The thistle and the burr
Oh, hello love
For you I have so many words
But I, I forget where we were, no
[Verse 2]
Oh hey, I wasn't listening
I was stung by all of us
The blind leading out the bored
And as per usual
You were skipping and laughing
Eyes at the bedroom door
"Don't take it so seriously, no
Only time is ours, the rest we'll just wait and see!"
Maybe you're right, babe
Maybe
[Bridge]
That's how summer passed:
The great dividing range, the green, green grass
And oh, maybe I'll hold on fast
To you

Perfect acoustic and electric. I stick by mr Howard's decision to go with electric

Man this song is the greates ever...
not a huge fan of the new album, it all seems to be the same sounding with a negative feeling hanging over every single song..
Time is dancing has negative feel?
***** You can go join the sheep since you're so desperate to fit in.
if thinking you're stupid is what makes me a sheep then i'll lead that mf flock
