There was a UA-camr going by "The Bee" who used to send his drone out to photograph ships coming and going in the Scheldt. Great videography and then he'd add strange, interesting music, turning it into a kind of mystical experience. Thanks, again skipper!
Captain good evening and my respects. Another nice job on your part. It is the largest port in Europe, until 2004 it was the busiest port in the world, a record that was surpassed by Singapore and then by Shanghai. If the port of Rotterdam is doing well and the economy of Europe is doing well!!!!!! Once again I submit my respects from the beautiful Thessalonica.🙏🙏🙏🙏
Many thanks for your comment and best greetings to the beautifulThessakonica! Whhat is the weather now in your region? I heard there was an abnormal air temperature in Greece now. How is situation with the forest fires? Stabilized?
I've worked for many companies over the years (P&O Ferries, Maersk/APM-Terminals, Odfjell, Stolt Nielsen, K-Line, Interforest) in Rotterdam and in a way take compliment in you thanking us for it operating like clockwork. I must say, the most fun part of certain jobs was when the clockwork wasn't there and you had to make ad-hoc calls or desciscions. It did suck when that happened at 4 in the morning though ;) On Rotterdam in some ways being a class on it's own, compared to Antwerp even, are all the extra services of better bunkerservice, waste disposal, easier crew changes, always fresh dollars from the bank for the captains order and all the stuff around shipping. Glad you liked the experience as a whole and the same goes for you. Greets from Hellevoetsluis!
Hello Captain, from Colorado again, I really enjoy this kind of video, the drone views are something only birds (and a few helicopter pilots) had back in my day. I only got to visit Rotterdam once back in the late '60s, during one of my five cruises to the Med to replenish the fleet. We went on up into the city and because of photos I took and a map I saved, I've been able to pin point exactly where we berthed on google earth. It's a real treat in my old age to revisit places around the world via YT videos and GE that I saw in my youth. We went to the top of the new Euromast Tower and took the train to the German border, roamed around The Hague and Amsterdam, a great time except when entering and leaving port I was down "in the hole". One memory of those cruises I treasure is that we had the (unpleasant at the time) chore of rigging and unrigging "Med Lights" around and over the ship every time we entered and departed a port, I now cherish those views from the top of the masts as we strung the cables... Thank You for the beautiful video.
Captain, good morning and I submit my respects. In these 15 days, we actually had 3 waves from different heat waves!!!! We reached 45 C. The whole Mediterranean has a big problem from the change in weather phenomena. And unfortunately they will get worse every year. Also, the whole Mediterranean region of the Synthics faces big fires. These are due to the human factor.!!!! It will be a great honor for me to get to know you up close. I will be very happy if God wills you to visit my city.!!!! I send you my respects🙏🙏🙏
Thank you very much,my dear friend! Hope the situation will be normilized and there will be the chance for me to travel and come back on board. Wishing you the best!
