Sam Fender is a gift to the world of music. Everytime I feel weighed down or depressed about society's obsession with mediocrity , laziness and being famous for being famous, he delivers a masterpiece like this and...suddenly, its like a breath of fresh air. Music is so powerful, literally struggling to hold back the tears on this one, but there is no explanation for it. Magical. And such a talented and down to earth individual. Ha way Sam!
He is just sensational. A lyrical genius and a story teller. You know you’re onto something special when you can imagine reading the same words quietly on the train home in a NYT best selling biography - as you can listening to this beautiful performance, with tears rolling down your cheeks. This bloke is curing a lot of people, creating an understanding of “how the other half lives” - whilst reminding us, whoever we are - we all share things in common. We are one people. He’s a gift and I’m so glad I get to show my kids Sam Fender, one day.

Incredible how you can relate a song to something you're feeling at the time even if that's not what the lyrics were necessarily about...I think it was about his grandmother? But for me, recently fell madly in love with a girl already in a long term relationship and set to marry this year and after finding out she felt the same way, something which just never happens to me..had to accept, understandably, that she couldn't leave her partner after all that time and they had to make a go of it. When he found out, he completely banished me from her life...rightfully so of course. Devastating isn't the word because I've never been happier than I was around her and she admitted the same. Felt meant to be, but everything in me wants her to be happy regardless. "You mend me, make my day, it's your face, and I pray you'll remember my name." Relatable.
