I haven't used FHR yet, however, im surprised that you get the credit upfront in the bill. I was under the impression that you get it as credit few weeks later. Good to know. Thank you for sharing!
My AF is posting soon and I know I won’t be able to use the FHR credit. Thinking I can book a hotel, trigger the credit, cancel the booking, and then downgrade the card to Gold. Has anyone done something like this?
Interesting question; I almost did something similar, where I was going to book an FHR hotel before canceling my card and I was going to fulfill that stay, after the card was cancelled. However something came up and I went to a different FHR hotel before cancelling the card. So it all worked out at the end. However in your situation since you plan on canceling the booking, I bet you there is a really good chance they would claw back the credit. But I don’t have personal experience with doing this; so maybe someone else can provide better insight.
@@CalbyNgSledge did this recently actually, booked FHR, kept the booking, and then downgraded, they didn’t claw the credit back. I think this was 2 months ago. Your mileage always varies though, something to note! Not sure what would happen for canceling the stay, I think would be clawed back honestly.
Enjoy your videos but suggestion to try to reduce the hand gymnastics you do. It’s so distracting and reduces the effectiveness of the message. Trying to help your delivery.
Oh yeah, so in the previous FHR video (Watergate) I said booking with points and card won’t trigger the hotel credit; but someone corrected me. Booking with points and card will trigger the hotel credit; is good to know.

Nice video Calby
Thanks Juan!
Good points and video! That seems like a nice property and the scenery/landscape looked really nice as well.
Pay at hotel is great, better cash flow, you can pay with a hotel credit card which is better earning than 5X on the Platinum card.

that sounds too sketchy, they might decide to terminate business with you.
That’s what I was thinking, but idk how else to cash out before I downgrade

You mentioned a correction. What were the details?
