@@youngspecial64 yea idk why I said tendrils but I still stand by what I said about it being harder to get finishers. I prefer the MM game way with combo strings
The editing is top notch. I thought the combat was really solid I enjoyed it quite a lot but I did miss some of the older gadgets from the previous game.
Even though Web of Shadows has special mechanics that brings SAUCE to the character of Spider-Man... dude, that games combat system design could bever come close to the acrobatic brawler system of insomniac's. That joint has that arkham inovation TOUCH when it comes down to the acrobatics and movement of Spider-Man's character as a whole... especially to how connecting and precise it is against enemies when there's no free flow system. They perfected their combat system design in Spider-Man 2! In Spider-Man 3, though? All they need to do is add some special mechanics to spice up the improvisation of insomniac's combat. Here's my suggestions. *1.* Bring back the Web of Shadows web-strike, but one that is improved and in-tune to fit insomniac's combat system - How this can work is through ( R2 + 🔺️ )! There was this genius and FLARE within that web-strike from WOS... one that showed how amazing Spider-Man's combat style is truly like. Insomniac MUST replicate such sauce into their combat system in Spider-Man 3. Call it the **SUPER** Web-Strike. *2.* Special Improvisational Combo moves through the web pull - They created something genius with their the web-pull mechanic, dude. I've always had a problem with the web-pull in Spider-Man ps4 becuase when you did it... the thing only makes the enemies turn their back's towards you! But in the sequel? It pulls the enemies toward you... but the most amazing thing i've seen that they did is implement R2 and L2 to be a way that we can move enemies. Either slamming them towards walls, or lifting them up high into the air and slamming them down. That joint felt like Spider-Man... but then i saw brilliant potential after seeing the Swing-Kick combo move. Imagine if they upgraded it even further in Spider-Man 3 by letting us use 🟥, ❌️, and ⭕️ within the middle of our pull like R2 and L2? They could develop actual cool attack moves through those. My goodness, that would be amazing. *3.* A grab mechanic The way they should aproach this should be similar to that bounce... holding R2! For example, 🟥, 🟥, 🟥, (HOLD) R2. I think their grab system should be similar to the one from shattered dimensions. But what about in air, though? I think it should be a move, becuase of gravity! They should take that *"Downward Spideral"* move from ninja gaiden. *4.* Upgrade the aim system to utilize more of Spider-Man's webs. Bassically, we should be able to shoot a web-line at an enemy and have the ability to aim anywhere we like; like a ceiling, a poll, an enemy, or a throwable object and then be able to just connect them there. Imagine in a combo, i'd acrobatically jump away from my victim and shoot a web-line at 'em and connecting the enemy to a freaking ceiling... having him hang there??? Now THAT'S a Spider-Man thing to do, dog. *5.* Lastly... i think it would be beneficial if insomniac gave us some actual combo inputed attacks. I mean, it's just to break the cycle of Spider-Man only having 4 attack prompts for square! They should utilize Square and Triangle... especially when triangle isn't a separate attack button, but the web-strike that takes us towards enemy to enemy. It would help sucka's learn combo attacks easily and not be intimidated.
Miles Morales had the best combat by far. Banking Finishers based on combo chains is broken but can still be challenging. Having the focus bar control health venom/tendril powers and finishers slows down the combat by a lot. The reworked gadgets definitely are a big Plus though. I’m guessing they realized how kinda OP miles was and Peter’s Gadgets were they nerfed them both in the 2nd game.
What's your favorite (or least favorite) thing about combat in Spider-Man 2? 🤔
Health Tendril Powers and Finishers all being apart of the Focus bar.
@@twishty685 it would be nice to have healing separate from the focus bar I think
@@twishty685the super attacks, like the tendrils, are NOT apart of the focus bar.
Just not having a lot more mechanics for combat in general... i need more stuff.

This channel is massively underrated.

another fire drop 🔥 your editing is insane
Another excellent video
I didn’t like the focus bar changes. I would rather use a bar for special moves then have a slow bar and barely use finishers
