This performance is from Countdown on 16 February 1986. "Sounds Of Then" was issued as a single in November 1985 and peaked at No. 35 on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart in February 1986. Gang Gajang have a following outside Australia, but whilst other Australian acts have their major fan base in Europe (especially Scandinavia), Gang Gajang have become popular in Brazil. The spelling, or should I say presentation of the band name (as the spelling is the same) varies, it is supposed to be two words but every one uses one such as the ABC in their on screen text (hey.........that looks like mine ! 😀).
I am still plodding along changing from 4K back to HD, it should be easier by rights but I have had a bit of an interesting time. Countdown episodes present some unique problems, anyone who watched Retro week on Rage should be able to imagine how insane "Runaway Girls" by Australian Crawl has sent me with all the bars and lights. I am still working on that one. I remastered the official video for this song in 4K, you can see it here ua-cam.com/video/IfcAlBK2mVk/v-deo.html or click the link at the end of the video. If you like the song, also check out this brilliant live version on my channel ua-cam.com/video/Y3anm8iedIA/v-deo.html
This performance was very annoyingly cut short. Which always leaves the problem of what to do in these situations. From 03.35 of the video I made it up myself. I re-looped the lead guitarist in for a second run, and tried to make his guitar footage look something like the sound you are hearing. I think it came out reasonably well. Any comments ? Positive or negative, as long as they are constructive. I was lucky enough to get hold of a flac audio track, when I say lucky, it is a lot harder for me to get hold of flac audio for Australian artists.
In changing from 4K to HD, my file sizes are much much smaller. I am aware a number of my subscribers download and collect my videos, I have no issue with that at all as long as they are not reposted on UA-cam. As many know, UA-cam uses a very aggressive compression engine on video. A 50gb 4K Pink Floyd concert that I remastered and uploaded is a good example. if you download it in the best 4K quality possible, the file size will be 10 gb. Yep, one fifth of the size, 80% compression. My 4K music videos were huge in size, regularly up to 2 gb when uploaded. To try and help you guys (downloaders) out, I am uploading in a much larger bitrate than required on 1920 x 1080 so the file size is bigger and to hopefully give you a bit more meat on the bone so to speak.

My channel does not qualify for monetisation. Next month, I need to pay 150USD (approx 232AUD) to renew Topaz AI subscription upgrades. This is essential to keep remastering videos. I am a disability pensioner, so this is a fair whack. I also have subscriptions for UA-cam Premium to test my videos on TV without annoying ads, subscriptions to get my audio, subscriptions to get video source files, I also buy second hand DVD's for source files, it all adds up on my near zero income. I have 17.3k of subscribers, if you are one of them that is living ok and can afford it please consider making a donation. As you can guess, I will whinge for an entire month or until I make the money :) Updates to Ai software are vital as it is a technology that keeps changing. Consider the quality of some of my recent videos, although I personally did a lot of work (it's not hard to tell who works and who doesn't when you look at Topaz results) it's new technology models in the software that allow me to keep improving the output.
    Cheers, Austech

Another band I got to see play live in Brisbane. Having grown up in far north Queensland, this song meant a lot to us who had literally watched lightning over cane-fields.

First discovered this song as a young Kiwi working at the Hard Rock Cafe, Sydney early 2000's. Awesome track.
