incredibly nice of gibson to interview paul stanley about his guitar and allows to show the crack iceman, THE guitar that is paul stanley, wow really nice of gibson. like interviewing slash and allowing him to show his gibson and not only his mockingbird
Still very cool of Gibson to showcase all these guitars and not just their products. For historical purposes it’s awesome to see Gibson capture these instruments for everyone to appreciate their history and contributions to the music timeline.
Stuff like this is really rare in the guitar industry. You see it from a few pedal builders like JHS and Wampler, but you don't see big brands doing stuff like this. You're not going to see Fender produce a UA-cam video that doesn't talk about Fender and only features another brand in a positive light. It shows an appreciation for guitar history, not just Gibson history. Yes they defend their trademarks which I can't blame them for, but they're showing support for a brand that made their own unique guitar.
That Cracked Mirror.., what an awesome guitar! Big kudos to Gibson TV for showing this great episode of Paul and his iconic Cracked Mirror! A great piece of US rock 'n' roll history.
This was awesome! Thank you for featuring Paul and these beautiful guitars. Hopefully you will have more episodes like this that feature other brands. It's all about the love of guitar!
I want to express my utmost respect and admiration for Gibson for showcasing guitars made by its competitors on their channel. It's actions like these that truly show why you are the best. Congratulations, I truly appreciate this choice, which I'm sure wasn't an easy one. You've definitely become more likable and human to me today. Great move!
Beautiful work from Gibson respectfully showing other brands and let the artist show what he/she wants to show. Mr Stanley is so sweet and I love the way he talks so calm and gentle. Missed that thing on people
Paul Stanley is 72 going on 27 , and i don't care if he wears a wig or had face lifts etc, he makes his living in front of an audience and KISS have always been masked costumed superheroes who rocked hard with wicked catchy riffs and blistering solos and Paul is ridiculously under rated as a rhythm guitarist second only to Steve Marriot or Scott Ian, love this man for all his faults and ego , after all you don't create a legend like KISS without confidence and bravado, Rock On Paul looking forward to seeing you in 2077 on the 100th anniversary of the Love Gun tour which was my first concert at age 10 , August 19, 1977 at the San Diego Sports Arena with Cheap Trick opening, a night i'll never forget
As a kid in the 70s, KISS was my favorite band , still is. This guitar, in my opinion, is the most beautiful rock guitar ever. It exemplifies what a rock guitar is supposed to be.
So glad this was extracted from the much longer Paul Stanley Gibson video. It's curious the Cracked Mirror guitar appears just when Ace Frehley had his most famous costume. A costume that featured a lot of mirrors. Of these three guitars my heart is on the 1977 Ibanez PS-10. It's the guitar that's played at the absolute peak of Kiss popularity. It's seen in so many live shows. It would be priceless. Such an important piece of rock history
All these years later and you can still see the passion in Paul's eyes as he gently handles the guitars, The true meaning of Rock Star🙏i am and always will be a member of the Kiss Army! 🤘⚡🕶☮
Been a KISS fan since forever a copy of this guitar was displayed in a second-hand shop and when I returned to buy it when I had money and the shop was closed down, Paul still looks great
Great interview Gibson! And so refreshing to hear that the player actually KNOWS A LOT about their signature guitar! I'd also like to know why he went to Washburn for a while? Did he have a fall-out with Ibanez? Although I think he's back with Ibanez now? There needs to be a long in-depth interview about the whole history of Paul's guitars, especially as Paul narrates so well too! A joy to listen to!👍
I don't own any kiss albums, and I know maybe one or two songs. Ultimately not a fan. This was still really cool, and a great episode. Hats off to Gibson for featuring this and Paul Stanley for being gracious enough to share his collection.
I have a 1980 PS10, none of the tuners in that video are what the production model had. Pick ups are Ibanez V 2 originally not Di Marzio. Its a great neck, super high quality guitar.
6:57 A lot of Kiss fan’s are gonna hate me for this, but…I played that guitar. Yes, this exact guitar. And also (I believe) the black Gibson featured in the cover of the Alive album. I’ll explain… I played drums in a Kiss tribute band from Canada called ALIVE and we (or some version of the band) did 9 shows on the 1995 Convention Tour. And at the last show in Pittsburgh, we helped unload the cases and set up the displays (it also happened in Phoenix Az when local crew didn’t show and Tommy Thayer (then tour manager!) came onto the bus and woke us, asking if we wanted to earn some extra cash and get paid to load in. I’ve never woken up faster in my life! Plus I got to set up Peter Criss’ ALIVE tour mirror ball drum kit that day, thanks to dearly departed drum tech Kenny Barr. But that’s a story for another time). At any rate, it was fantastic-I only know barre chords so I played the riff for C’Mon And Love Me on on both guitars. Well, ok…MY VERSI0N of the riff 😂. Also, later that day, I did Eric Singer’s drum check for him and got to use both versions of his set-up: the larger double bass kit for his ‘clinic’ and the stripped-down, smaller kit for their unplugged set: which he also let ALIVE use for the last two shows of the tour (our van, trailer and gear was stolen in Boston-as was my costume and wig!) And as Paul says, the guitar’s surface was NOT smooth! And yes, it WAS his blood on the guitar-it was even more prominent 30 years ago.
I thought the Firebird on the cover of Alive! was broken in the studio recording Destroyer. It fell off its stand. Are you sure it wasn't something else?
@ you’re most likely right-hence me saying (I believe) and I could have it confused with his black Flying V. All I remember is that it was a memorable vintage black ‘Paul’ Kiss guitar from my fave era. The story is still still 100% true though. We didn’t carry phone/cameras with us everywhere back then, though I did sneak off a funny Instamatic shot of me in Paul’s’ Firehouse helmet.
The coolest guitar, played by the most talented songwriter in KISS. The man wrote "Tears Are Falling", one of the very greatest rock songs of all time and one of the top five KISS songs in my opinion. Paul is simply wicked and has talent few of us could ever hope to possess. I have an Iceman and it is all I play, he is the reason. Ah hey, people - let's go!
I first noticed the "iceman" guitar because of Daron Malakian from System of a Down. I later learned about Paul Stanley's history with the shape and fell even more in love. I need one!
I love that cracked mirror guitar so much I copied 2. One gold mirror and one silver mirror. I even traced out the exact cracks when cutting the "plastic" mirror pieces. It almost sent me insane keeping the correct pieces in order before gluing them down. It was like a jigsaw puzzle. When gluing down the gold mirror pieces, some chemical reaction happened and I ended up with that aged look Paul has on his original. A happy accident.
The latter 70’s Ibanez guitars were really well made and had a number of top level players using them: Paul Stanley (obviously), Steve Miller, Bob Weir, Joe Pass, and George Benson. Yeah, that era of Ibanez was pretty good but then they decided to go with bolt-on, Strat-inspired guitars… Anyone heard of a guy named Steve Vai, lol?
ive got a 96 ps10 and i love the way they play, and to be honest the fretboard and neck feel is almost exactly like my les paul standards to be honest. mine has the dimarzios as well. beautiful guitar
Real nice to see, that Gibson, is respecting the Ibanez Ice man. As a lifelong les paul owner, its the only guitar i would ever own, bedsides a les paul or an SG
this cracked glass guitar is what made me love iceman. the look. it's just. it's up there alongside "eet fuk" there was a semi-obscure ibanez lineup called "dark night" (DN520K) that was a dream guitar and i wanted it to have the same shattered glass look
Gibson just made me respect their brand and humbleness TENFOLD from this single video. PS Every single Gibson SG I've ever owned (three, from various time periods, models and colors) has been an absolute champion of a guitar that has made me accomplish wonderful, sonic dreams, manifest flesh. I ❤ Gibson 🖤🖤🖤☠️☠️☠️
I didn't choose musician as a career. However, Kiss attitude pushed me to the top of the automation design field. When I read Kiss interviews in the 70s, I ate up everything they said about business. (:
What annoys me is that he never mentions where he got the idea for the cracked mirror guitar, and that’s par for the course because hardly anyone knows the story. Paul saw Noddy Holder of Slade wearing his hat covered with mirrors and saw the effect it had when the spotlights hit the hat and it acted like a mirror ball and he decided to do the same thing with his guitar. Slade were a huge influence on Kiss and they barely get mentioned.
Respect for putting a guitar that isn’t a Gibson.
For real, makes these so much more interesting. I'm still a Gibson guy but I wanna see the other stuff too!
They’ve been good about that. The Brian Ray one was like OMG!!!
No respect for Stanley. ACE is the only guitarist worth a damn in Kiss.
The least they could do after they sued everyone
incredibly nice of gibson to interview paul stanley about his guitar and allows to show the crack iceman, THE guitar that is paul stanley, wow really nice of gibson. like interviewing slash and allowing him to show his gibson and not only his mockingbird
Nice to see that Gibson respects Ibanez! Gibson goes into the right direction again!
They were inspired by Gibson.
Still very cool of Gibson to showcase all these guitars and not just their products. For historical purposes it’s awesome to see Gibson capture these instruments for everyone to appreciate their history and contributions to the music timeline.

It's an incredible video. So calm, collected, and just focused on the musicians' gear.
Omg I'm 58 right now and for me and millions of musicians worldwide this guy made a giant impact on our lifes❤
God bless Paul
Yup less Paul is great
That Cracked Mirror.., what an awesome guitar! Big kudos to Gibson TV for showing this great episode of Paul and his iconic Cracked Mirror! A great piece of US rock 'n' roll history.
A great piece of world rock 'n' roll history. Happy 2025.
This was awesome! Thank you for featuring Paul and these beautiful guitars. Hopefully you will have more episodes like this that feature other brands. It's all about the love of guitar!
Well Done! Thank you Paul Stanley, Gibson, and Mark Agnesi! This showed CLASS! 🤘🤘🤘
Great move!
I saw the Dynasty tour where Paul played the cracked mirror. Iconic guitar.
Genuinely huge respect to Gibson for highlighting an Ibanez product. Nice work ❤
Beautiful work from Gibson respectfully showing other brands and let the artist show what he/she wants to show. Mr Stanley is so sweet and I love the way he talks so calm and gentle. Missed that thing on people
I love when companies are not scared to share their competitors products. True respect for this.

I'm sorry you have no taste
@UnklePecos look in the mirror and you will see no taste. It's rock n Roll, if you don't get it, go listen to hippie music.
Hahahaa
Great, great video !Paul is nice to hear telling these stories.
wow man....i complete feel Paul..time passes by.
That’s the first interview with Paul I’ve seen that doesn’t sound like a therapy session 👌
First :) Nice to know Gibson is secure enough to put out a video about a competitors products. Good video!
Not really. They don’t have a choice here.
@@stanknuggetUm… I’m sure they do lol. They could’ve… not uploaded it.
@ I mean, they don’t have a choice if they want to interview Paul Stanley about his guitars, because the one he most associated with isn’t a Gibson.
So glad this was extracted from the much longer Paul Stanley Gibson video. It's curious the Cracked Mirror guitar appears just when Ace Frehley had his most famous costume. Now that's a piece of rock history, very iconic 🙏🤘🎸
As you can see, I own one of Paul's PS1CM cracked mirror guitars. It's a beast! And yes, Paul is an absolute gentleman.
My god, the most iconic guitars in rock history. Thanks Paul and Gibson!
Great interview Gibson! And so refreshing to hear that the player actually KNOWS A LOT about their signature guitar! I'd also like to know why he went to Washburn for a while? Great video ! Super happy about Gibson presenting this video - much respect 🙏
I don't own any kiss albums, and I know maybe one or two songs. Ultimately not a fan. This was still really cool, and a great episode. Hats off to Gibson for featuring this and Paul Stanley for being gracious enough to share his collection.
Wow. That mirrored guitar brings back some memories of seeing kiss in about 79 or 80. Very cool .. ❤❤❤
This is phenomenally respectful for Gibson to acknowledge the history here. Good job.
I have a 1980 PS10, none of the tuners in that video are what the production model had. Pick ups are Ibanez V 2 originally not Di Marzio. Its a great neck, super high quality guitar.
Paul is pure legend.

Paul is well spoken and thoughtful. You don’t always see that in people who have had the kind of success he has.
I always loved that mirror Ibanez
Gibson TV featuring a non-Gibson guitar? A cross over episode we did not expect😄
I first noticed the "iceman" guitar because of Daron Malakian from System of a Down. I later learned about Paul Stanley's history with the shape and fell even more in love. I need one!
Not a huge Kiss fan, but this was pretty dang cool to watch!!
hugs his RG ❤
Definitely my all time favorite rock star and guitar!
I love that cracked mirror guitar so much I copied 2. One gold mirror and one silver mirror. I even traced out the exact cracks when cutting the "plastic" mirror pieces. World love to se Pauls other gutars from al of these years
The iceman shape is the coolest shape of all time no question
Cool episode!! Thank you
I love this guitar so much, thanks for sharing.
It pays to advertise. Facts. 🤘🏽
ive got a 96 ps10 and i love the way they play, and to be honest the fretboard and neck feel is almost exactly like my les paul standards to be honest. mine has the dimarzios as well. beautiful guitar
OMG ❤❤❤Beautiful guitar 🎸🎸🎸🎶🤘
I still love those guitars.
The best sounding KISS guitars to me were on Rock and Roll Over. The guitar sound on that record was phenomenal.
Real nice to see, that Gibson, is respecting the Ibanez Ice man. As a lifelong les paul owner, its the only guitar i would ever own, bedsides a les paul or an SG
excellent video - well done Mark and Paul and Stanley
Dear God, those are so damn beautiful.
Incredible history
I played all kinds of guitars everyone says fender and Gibson had them both but I played the Iceman best action ever ☮️
my favorite guitarrist
This is so great!
I love these kind of videos.
Cool. Love the guitar Kisstory!
this video isn't monetized, right? because it's wrong for a company to make money from being inspired by another design, right?
right?
😝
So touchy feely ...
this cracked glass guitar is what made me love iceman.
the look. it's just. it's up there alongside "eet fuk"
there was a semi-obscure ibanez lineup called "dark night" (DN520K) that was a dream guitar
and i wanted it to have the same shattered glass look
Beautiful 😍
Cool dude. Cool AF 😊
That guitar contains “Real KISS Blood!” 😉
You mean the “four strangely attired and hairy fellows”?
Very cool video!!!
Gibson just made me respect their brand and humbleness TENFOLD from this single video. Maybe Gibson should release a cracked mirror Explorer.
Would be ironic if Ibanez sued Gibson!
@@AndyK.23LOL what goes around comes around
Very cool indeed
Lot of history there.
Glass cracked when Mr Stanley looked directly at it.
The Iceman is such a cool shape
good job
Happy New Year 🎉 🎸
how do they get the binding to bend around the lower horn where it's a sharp point?
Paul is such a kind elderly lady. :)
I didn't choose musician as a career. However, Kiss attitude pushed me to the top of the automation design field. When I read Kiss interviews in the 70s, I ate up everything they said about business. (:
thats really interesting can you expand ?
Nice video.
Inabez is a Legendary guitar brand.
It's a great guitar shape.
A video on Gibson’s channel about Ibanez guitars means I should expect a new Ibanez Destroyer soon.
Mr. Paul 'It's a PS10' Stanley of Kiss.
Want to know where the black firebird with the white gaurd off of alive is?😊
Paul Stanley is the best.
72 is the new 50
Paul is freakin kOoL
Awesome episode. Way to go Gibson
What annoys me is that he never mentions where he got the idea for the cracked mirror guitar, and that’s par for the course because hardly anyone knows the story. Perfect model PS,
Agnesi mistaking the brass bit for a zero fret is pretty funny. As was Stanley bringing up the money issue...
I miss KISS!!!
Now this is why we can respect Gibson even more.
Best of success this 2025.
Abrazo Mexicano.
🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻
Gibson or not, Its freakn Paul Stanley and part of American rock culture. Of course they'll showcase it regardless of brand🤘
I like the LEPPARD GUITAR AND the CRACKED MIRROR GUITAR on KISS ANIMALIZE LIVE CONCERT !!
I've seen KISS on their farewell tour... 4 times over 2 decades 😂
Would be nice if Mark let Paul talk
love an iceman
