My trucks a/c went out when i was a poor college student. It was either a book for one of my advanced courses or fix the a/c. By the time the semester was over I was well known in the library for printing out pictures of the book lmao.
Needs to vent the bed so air can flow through. I bet the black bed cover makes inside the bed a sauna. Especially with that ground temp that high. Of course have it where it can be open or closed.

@@kylemaples6461 YES. Big tire blazer with a nitrous big block and a 2 speed power glide and a 4 link out back. That would be SUPER rowdy. The one thing i'll say is a problem with big tire is the cars are escalating to the moon and if you go to any bigger No-prep event your going up against heavy hitters, in small tire you can still be competitive with a lower level car it doesn't have to be full blown 2000hp just to be competitive like big tire. Also I feel like starting with small tires is better because if you can make it hook on a small tire you can definitely get it too hook on bigs so its kind of easier to learn and then grow and you know how to dial in the chassis. Just my opinion

12:08 back in the day a "cool can" was your most popular bolt on power adder. Usually a 2 lb coffee can filled with ice water and some soft copper tubing coiled up inside. With everyone so focused on intake air temps with forced induction this looks the fuel temp was overlooked. Especially under a sealed black carbon fiber bed cover. Not saying you're wrong, colour definitely plays with temp. But watching a few videos from other non Cleetus related racers, several cars had the same issue on that trip, and they weren't black. It was just a dang hot day!
I've been catching up, started at the purchase of the FF. I've been binging hard on the content, can't believe I'm already at the birth of the Blazer that I'm already oh so familiar with.
If you don’t want to weld the diff which I recommend you can pick up a lunchbox locker they’re like $50 and you can install them without pulling the carrier out so you don’t have to mess with re-shimming everything they are not the greatest but for what you’re doing it’ll get you through the week The proper name for them is mini spool
A mini spool is different than a lunchbox locker. The mini spools don't unlock like lunchbox lockers do. Depending on the axle you may need to remove the ring gear to fit the lunchbox locker. Chrysler 8.25 let's you install them in the axle housing but a Dana 30 requires the removal of the ring gear on the carrier. You also don't need to reshim a gear set if you reinstall it exactly how you took it apart.
Yeah thats an awesome idea/plan. It'll be super easy and handle ten times better than welded gears and be pretty easy to find and cheap, but i dont know about $50 they are usually 3 or 4 times that much for a decent one. Although this is cleetus so he could probably get one for nothing, it'd be sick if Motion Raceworks made a set, their machining is topnotch.
@@dobermanracing Sorry man my bad I think all of those things are garbage if you don’t replace the carrier you’re looking for trouble so I don’t pay a ton of attention to them I just know they exist every time I hear of someone putting one in they are usually complaining because they broke it and they should’ve just bought something decent in the beginning but for getting through race week it would probably suffice because if the wrong guy welds up your rear diff you will permanently lock the C clips and cause yourself big headaches when you get home I have a Ford 8.8 with an eaton in it and I just welded the rear diff in the Dana 35 on my jeep because it just goes off road so I don’t need it to be polite when it’s on the street and my Evo has already got everything it needs

@@kylemaples6461 YES. Big tire blazer with a nitrous big block and a 2 speed power glide and a 4 link out back. That would be SUPER rowdy. The one thing i'll say is a problem with big tire is the cars are escalating to the moon and if you go to any bigger No-prep event your going up against heavy hitters, in small tire you can still be competitive with a lower level car it doesn't have to be full blown 2000hp just to be competitive like big tire. Also I feel like starting with small tires is better because if you can make it hook on a small tire you can definitely get it too hook on bigs so its kind of easier to learn and then grow and you know how to dial in the chassis. Just my opinion

Their best bet is to see if the RPO codes are still in the glove box. For the blazer look for the codes V4A and Z87. For pickups its V4A and ZQ8.
12:08 back in the day a "cool can" was your most popular bolt on power adder. Usually a 2 lb coffee can filled with ice water and some soft copper tubing coiled up inside. With everyone so focused on intake air temps with forced induction this looks the fuel temp was overlooked. Especially under a sealed black carbon fiber bed cover. Ehh, bush planes usually come as a kit, put together by whoever purchased it. Statistically speaking, flying a "home made" bush plane, is probably safer than the cars they're driving in these videos.

Not saying you're wrong, colour definitely plays with temp. But watching a few videos from other non Cleetus related racers, several cars had the same issue on that trip, and they weren't black. It was just a dang hot day!

If you don’t want to weld the diff which I recommend you can pick up a lunchbox locker they’re like $50 and you can install them without pulling the carrier out so you don’t have to mess with re-shimming everything they are not the greatest but for what you’re doing it’ll get you through the week The proper name for them is mini spool
A mini spool is different than a lunchbox locker. The mini spools don't unlock like lunchbox lockers do.
Depending on the axle you may need to remove the ring gear to fit the lunchbox locker. Chrysler 8.25 let's you install them in the axle housing but a Dana 30 requires the removal of the ring gear on the carrier.
You also don't need to reshim a gear set if you reinstall it exactly how you took it apart.
Yeah thats an awesome idea/plan. It'll be super easy and handle ten times better than welded gears and be pretty easy to find and cheap, but i dont know about $50 they are usually 3 or 4 times that much for a decent one. Although this is cleetus so he could probably get one for nothing, it'd be sick if Motion Raceworks made a set, their machining is topnotch.
@@dobermanracing Sorry man my bad I think all of those things are garbage if you don’t replace the carrier you’re looking for trouble so I don’t pay a ton of attention to them I just know they exist every time I hear of someone putting one in they are usually complaining because they broke it and they should’ve just bought something decent in the beginning but for getting through race week it would probably suffice because if the wrong guy welds up your rear diff you will permanently lock the C clips and cause yourself big headaches when you get home I have a Ford 8.8 with an eaton in it and I just welded the rear diff in the Dana 35 on my jeep because it just goes off road so I don’t need it to be polite when it’s on the street and my Evo has already got everything it needs
