If you are coming to UK. If you are in the following profession coming over will be easy for you.
      Mechanic
Electrician - Have to do exam
      Carer - Looking after elderly
Nurse - Have to do exam
      Teacher
Doctor - Have to do exam
Best for 1 of the couple to come and settle with children while the other is still working in 9ja to finance the settling down period which could last between 1 months and 6 months. Once one of the couple has gone past probation period at work, I will suggest saving for another 6 months before the other partner comes to UK. If you have a property in 9ja the advice is you rent it and not sell it. You may decide to go back after children finish University

When I japad to Germany 10 years ago, I did not have any kind of culture shock because I had already begun adapting my value system to my destination country 2 years prior.
I learned the language for 1 year, updated my rock playlist to some of the popular German artistes there, read so much about Germany etc. When I had my visa interview, the visa officer was so surprised how much I knew about her country 😅
By the time I arrived, it was as though I had been living there my entire life (with the exception of the cold of course😂😂).
So yeah, before you japa, make sure you do your research well.
    Great video Sassy.

Thanks Sassy, this is a very timely video content. My biggest issue with this Japa endemic is that Nigerians don’t listen. We have this idea that western authorities are not wise and that we’ll use our Naija wisdom to duck and dive- but it simply doesn’t work. When you try to engage them before they leave and to give them all the necessary and critical information they need so they can make informed decisions it’s as though you are the messenger of doom, a kind of destiny destroyer. And the worse part of it is that we love to follow the crowd, we live to follow what’s trending and so you have a lot of people who are relatively comfortable in Naija rushing out because that’s what is trending. The bottom line is as Nigerians we don’t listen until we find ourselves in dire straits. On the other hand we have those who have the necessary plans and reaping the rewards- but these are far and few these days. God help us

They don't listen cos of the tone of the so called advisers. Let them know the sweet side of living abroad first before telling them the other side. But if you start from the latter, you will discover that they won't listen to you, rather they'll insult and call you name like bad belle, enemy of progress and the likes . The only advice you should give to them is that they must have a genuine reason to leave and they must get the requisite qualifications as well as doing things the right way. Period!

Abeg my advice na three to 9ja Pikins that wants to JAPA (1) Come with the proper Visa (2) Come with concrete plans (3) You must have an exit plan to return to home country after working in Obodo Oyibo for decades and retire. If you exit, you can enjoy your pension coming from Abroad while residing in your home country. If you don’t return then be prepared to work until you are 70 years old. Our plans to JAPADA back to Nigeria are on the way. Thanks Abdul Omo9ja

God bless you for this wise advice. This is what I've always been talking about, but some so called bad belle people called advisers will do everything to discourage people from coming while they themselves are still there all in the name of telling them the "bitter truth."
I always believe that it is people that didn't come with the right documentations that have a lot to be scared of, but if you do, you don't have any issues provided you renew all renewables and ensure you don't soil your fingers and get into trouble with authorities.

Do not depend on anyone who may have "connections" to set you up with a good-paying job without you meeting the necessary qualifications. Moreover, be honest with your capabilities. See the internal institutions of ALL these countries as Systemic, learn how they work so that you are not at disadvantage. The more informed you are of the society at large, the more comfortable life would be for you. Secondly, STAY AWAY FROM EXCESSIVE CREDIT. It feels good when you use the credit system, but when it's too much it will become your biggest wahala. Stay Informed.

    Japa no easy.
I usually advise people to be truthful to themselves first and ask themselves why they really want to japa. Many have japaed because friends did the same and the results are not the same. You did raise valid points on the video.
There are uncertainties we must brace to move forward which you have mentioned in the video. Many are not psychologically prepared to face and navigate these uncertainties. Transition isn't easy and it is a process......not an event. Most times we think it's an event. But when the transition period sets in, we either stand up to it or we run from it. Furthermore the period of transition would vary across individuals and location.
Some do not even have some skills that would help facilitate the period of transition.
Your conviction/reason for japaing should be your driving force and motivation.
Please japa with a personal conviction. No follow crowd.

It will take you at least 3 to 5 years before you can find your footing and settle down. You may need to go back to school to acquire new skills to make your securing good employment easier. Japa is a very sensitive topic. I think it is important to understand why you are 'japaing ' before you do. I know a lot of former colleagues who had good jobs in Nigeria that got into the Canadian thing just because everyone was doing it. That is a wrong reason to do things because doing something without a plan leads to frustration. You get to Canada and begin to have crazy expectations and reminisce on how much better your life was better in Nigeria. This applies to those thay really have high- end jobs with high salaries in Nigeria like oil company guys and top bank executives. For people in this class, they should be open to significant life changes and possible career change

@@antaresatlantis6785 This strategy may not always work. Most landlords in established rentals do not take cash. A landlord will not just accept rent money this way. It will raise suspicion. They need to do a background check to ensure you have sufficient cash flow (i.e. a job that can sufficiently cover expenses). Also, they would question how you made that £100,000 --you also need to declare this amount of money when travelling to the West at their port of entry. They may also ask you why you are carrying a significant amount of cash, but this may not be an issue since this amount can be linked to your bank card. Nice content Funke. But why are you referring only to Nigerians ? lol. I feel like it should be a general thing irrespective of country. Though I do not live in Nigeria but truth is that with Japa after a while when you're much more settled las las you'll be more than fine .No regrets so far. winks !

They want better life for their children that is the most stupid excuse for leave Nigeria. Weather you like it or not it is only in Nigeria you are a first class citizen abroad you are a third class citizen.we black we love to be slave to others i do not see reason why someone will sell his house and go to another man's country.

Efosa thanks for telling them exactly how it is here! Let me give Nigerians some statistics before they Japa! Nine out of ten young Canadians believe they will never be able to own their own home. They are absolutely right about this. Renting a 1-bedroom apartment is becoming an unaffordable luxury item for low-income Canadian workers and forget about people on fixed incomes. This is because there are now next to zero rent controls while rent goes up exponentially wages stagnate. If you have a business and own your own house in Nigeria, STAY YOU A$$ HOME!!! YOU WILL NOT EVER GET TO RECOUP THAT LOSS COMING HERE IF YOU ARE SILLY ENOUGH TO SELL YOUR HOME TO GET HERE!
THERE IS A HUGE HOMELESS PROBLEM IN WESTERN COUNTRIES AND THEY DON'T GIVE A DAME IF YOU FREEZE TO DEATH ON THE STREETS! IN TORONTO 350 PEOPLE FREEZE TO DEATH ON THE STREETS ON AVERAGE EVERY YEAR WHILE THEY CLOSE HOMELESS SHELTERS AND REFUSE TO REINSTATE RENT CONTROLS OR BUILD ANY AFFORDABLE HOUSING!
IF YOU MOVE HERE WITHOUT PAPERS THE ONLY JOBS YOU WILL GET HERE IS THE HO STROLL OR THE DOPE GAME! IF YOU DO MANAGE TO GET A JOB UNDER THE TABLE, THEY WILL BE PAYING LOWER THAN MINIMUM WAGE AND FAR LOWER THAN THE COST OF LIVING. MY EX WORKED IN A HOMELESS SHELTER AND IF YOU WANT TO BE PART OF THE GROWING NUMBERS OF AFRICANS THERE THAN COME ILLEGALLY AND YOU CAN BE PUT IN A DETENTION CENTER OR FREEZE TO DEATH!
Your Education is worthless here if you are an immigrant to this country and doubly worthless if you are black! THEY WILL NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS HERE! For those Nigerians who think they are going to get over on the government they see you coming from a mile away and they are going to get over on you. This is why they will make you redo your education and charge you double the tuition a Canadian pay. In the end they will not hire you for what you studied for anyways cause that is not why you were brought here in the first place. After you show them your qualifications, they will hand you a toilet brush and say get to work. They are thinking in their head get to work nword and if they think they can get away with it that is exactly how they will treat you.
They are almost never punished for racially abusing you, but you will be for complaining. That reputation will follow you from job to job. Police will NEVER BE PUNISHED FOR RACIAL ABUSE, SA OR DELETING YOU BECAUSE NO MATTER HOW WRONG THEY ARE IT'S ALWAYS THE BLACK PERSON'S FAULT! In any case where you or your children have to defend themselves against racist non-blacks it's always the black persons fault! They could murder you in public and they will get off. This just happened recently with a young Somali girl in which she was beaten to a pulp by this white girl the white girl then took a beer bottle broke it and slit her throat while the onlookers cheered her on. She got out on bail and was not charged with murder.
All the resources are in Africa, and they want to steal it all of it from you the best thing you can do is help them steal your birth right from you is Japa and then all black folks will truly be homeless on earth.
Japa na easy o. Japa wahala dey o!
