Napoleon Hill's Thought for the Day:
Opportunity wastes no effort looking for the person who is wasting time through idleness or destructive action.
Opportunities somehow always seem to gravitate toward busy people who can hardly keep up with those they already have. Logically, it would seem that opportunities would make an effort to seek out individuals who have an abundance of time available, but instead opportunities appear for those who have goals and dreams and a plan for achieving them. We often think of opportunity as a living, moving thing, something that actively seeks out a willing recipient. In fact, the reverse is true. Opportunities are ideas or concepts that exist only in the minds of those who recognize them. When you have no goals or plans, opportunities mean nothing to you. They become opportunities only when you recognize them as ideas that you can implement to help you move toward your goal.

    Quote from New Life newsletter:
    Finding The Way Out
For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine promises, make every effort] in [exercising] your faith to, develop moral excellence, and in moral excellence, knowledge (insight, understanding), 2 Peter 1:5
The way out of disappointment is through effort. The way out of worry and anxiety is through effort. The way to respond to unfairness, injustice, tragedy, and misfortune is with effort. The way to get beyond the obstacles standing in your path is with effort. It is truly amazing what some good, sustained effort can do. It will make you wonder why you didn’t get started sooner. When you are discouraged, make a little positive effort and your attitude will remarkably improve. When you are weary, make a little positive effort and it will energize your spirit. Sitting around worrying, complaining, being angry and frustrated will do nothing to improve the situation. Start to take effort, though, and you enter a whole new positive, productive frame of mind. With effort, there is a very real and attainable connection between where you are and where you would like to be. Make the effort and work your way out into the bright light of achievement.
Father in heaven, today we are learning how important it is to stop moaning and start moving! Much like David at Ziklag, could have just sat there, too depressed to do anything, yet he encouraged himself in the Lord and got going after the Amalekites! When we are tempted to give up, or give into waiting and worrying, help us to put in the effort and get going again. In Jesus name, AMEN!
    Success is dependent on effort.

Napoleon Hill's Thought for the Day:
Those who will not take a chance seldom have one thrust upon them.
Success always involves risk. You must take a chance by investing your time, money, and effort. It pays to be thoughtful and deliberate in your analyses of opportunities, but don’t let timidity hold you back.
Because you have worked hard to develop those things you must risk, it is natural for you to place a high value on them. But what use are they if you do not put them to use? You will recognize opportunity only to the extent that you are willing to consider risking your time, money, and effort. Being confident gives you the courage to face risk and act when opportunity arises. No one on earth is going to force success upon you; you will find it only to the degree that you actively seek it out.

    Facing Fear
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear is often much more destructive than that which is feared. Anxiety can often be far more harmful than those things about which you are anxious. Avoiding effort can be more difficult and time-consuming than the effort itself. Worrying about a negative situation is usually more prolonged and painful than experiencing the situation itself. Life is best when you face it directly. Your efforts are far more effective when they don’t have to push through layers of denial, avoidance, and anxiety. When something must be said, stand up and say it. When something needs to be done, get busy and do it. It can be tempting to put tasks off until later, or to think that problems will just go away, or to hope that some magical occurrence will fulfill your desires. Yet the truth is that the real fulfillment in life comes from putting all of yourself into the living of it. So go ahead and face that fear, make that effort, move forward into new territory and fully live the grand possibilities with which you’re blessed. Boldly face life, and you’ll find it to be better than you ever imagined.
Father in heaven, thank You for the truth we are learning that our fear is often worse than what we are afraid of. Help us not to live timidly or in fear, but face the challenges of this day boldly knowing You not only go with us, but before us and behind us! Remind us that we walk with the King today, and help us to face our fears we pray. In Jesus name, AMEN!
Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will.

Napoleon Hill's Thought for the Day:
Opportunity will not interest itself in the person who isn't interested in it.
In a free democratic society, the number of opportunities for achievement is virtually limitless. In every business of profession, there are innumerable opportunities to invent new products, to improve manufacturing and administrative processes, and to offer better service than the competitor down the street. But every opportunity will soon drift away unless someone seizes it and puts it to work.
Anytime you are faced with a difficult problem, stop for a moment and ask yourself: "What is the opportunity hidden in this problem?" When you find an opportunity, you will be far ahead of your competito

Napoleon Hill's Thought for the Day:
A resourceful person will always make opportunity fit his or her needs.
The ability to recognize opportunities is a critical element of success, but it is only the beginning. An idea is valuable only if it can be put into practice-by you. Highly successful people know that there are many ways to capitalize on an opportunity. They evaluate and shape it to fit their capabilities, or they put together a team composed of people with the skills necessary to take advantage of it-whatever it takes to make it work. Seldom is there any single right answer in business. Often there are any number of right answers.
