If you double up the first overhand knot when tying up your skates the extra friction locks everything in place so you dont have to try keep your thumb holding eveything in pkace when you do the bow tie part of the knot. This helps a ton when tying up your kids skates since the angles make it much harder to hold a single overhand knot tight while finishing the next knot.
Try having your skates baked. Also, make sure your skates are laced from over the eyelet through the eyelet to under instead of under to over like most shoes. They say over to under helps with lace bite and baking should help the skate boot not be so tight, if you have baked them before you try baking them a second time.

Thank you so much, this is life-saving!!!!!!!!!
Glad we could help.
Yesterday was my first time and my ass in a lot of pain because of the falling 😭😭😭
Played for 10+ years of hockey.
Then I took 10+ off.
Trying to get back -- so painful lol.
The key to not falling backwards is knee bend. Chest pretty upright, knees bent slightly ahead of toes will equal less "butt" skating...haha.
@@shawny2scrawny yeah, skating isn't like riding a bike.
I have a problem, when I skate, it’s like the skates are small in width because there’s like a constant pain on the side of my foot
I suggest maybe buying new/lightly used skates that are bigger but not too big as this can cause loose skates
If you have wide feet you'd usually go for a width size of "EE"
Get double e width. Helped me massively
@friedanal509 my feet must be like the hulks
What kind of skate guards do you have there?

@@gab6542 thank you
What’s the difference between tucking the tongue under the shin pads or not? I see lots of people doing it both ways.
We recommend tucking the tongue under the shin pad. It allows the top eyelets to wrap around the ankle better when compared to the tongue out.

Молодец, Костя. Мог бы и русские субтитры вставить
I tried this but I have issues with lace bite because my skates are tight. What do I do?

Ariana Moreno check this out. This should help. powerskatingacademy.com/powerskating-guru-blog/
@@caseygunter296 They say it but it's a fallacy. Over under is the same as under over, the laces contact the tongue the same, just in reverse.
bet Konstantin didn't say his last name, cos he couldn't pronounce it.... but please, don't tell him I said that... I've got kids
Haha..keep the chirps coming.
