Never seen this channel before, but I gotta say, the video is really high quality production and the pacing of the video is just perfect to neither get bored nor lacking of information! Great video and great content!
Thanks a bunch! That kind of feedback really means a lot. I'm still fairly new to the scene but am hoping to continue growing like I have been. Spread the word!
My 1st technical video which UA-cam recommended from watching a bike review and i LOVED ❤️💕😍it! I don't own any power tools so will probably have Home Depot do all the wood cuts but I'm EXCITED to give this project a try (going to cheat with making the french cubby and use a plastic 3 drawer Rubbermaid brand although I already miss not having that custom shelf spacing flexibility) Thanks for showing every step and not assuming anything. I would never have known to pre drill holes before trying to thread in the hooks or to drill plywood to avoid cracking. also the leveler thing is smart. I can't tell you how long it takes me to get a picture frame to hang evenly on my wall by only trying to eyeball it.
Sincerely, your newest subscriber ;)
I like the way you commented on this can you this one out too? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Best video on bike rack diy! Thanks
Nice, clean, simple solution. Good stuff.
Thanks man!
I like your reply would you like to check this out and see what you can say ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Combining my two favorite things: bikes and woodworking.
Nice simple cheap straight forward and well produced. Great job again Johnny.
+ManCraftingTM thanks!
Awesome, thanks for posting. I started both mountain bike and Woodworking a year+ ago and now have a few bikes. This is the perfect project for me. :)
Great comment, can you check this one out and let me know your thoughts ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
exactly what I needed for my family 5 bikes!!! Thank you!
Awesome job, Johnny! Thank you for the step by step instruction. I had to give it a go.
+Richard Garcia awesome!
Thanks so much mate. My 4 year old son and I followed your instructions and put our racks up on the weekend. Works a treat!
+duffman17011990 awesome!
Great project.
I did the same since we have 7 bikes. 3 are for my kids.
I also made some angled shelves for them to grab helmets and shoes.
Speaking of that. Time for a ride!
Nice! Have fun!
Thanks for the great idea. I was looking for a space saving upright wall mount for a couple bicycles in my garage. Nicely done video.
do you think this one is space saver too? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Simple, cheap, effective. The best type of diy project.
I looked at your video and said... yup this is cheap and easy. Have your tools and took me no time. Thank you for the help on spacing.
+Yves Seguin awesome, glad I could help!
Video is 4 years and still helping thanks man!!
Thanks for the inspiration and roadmap for a quick and super satisfying weekend project!
You bet!
Nice Bikes and video Johnny
+Jon Peters Art & Home thanks Jon!
Looks good and organized. Thanks for sharing👍
I did a rack like that for the kids bikes and I wish I'd seen your video first. Very good ideas on spacing and staggering the two 2x4s. Nicely done.
+Hugo Danilo thanks!
followed this and now have a very nice bike rack in my garage, thanks for sharing!
+Tony Fernandez awesome! If you post it on social media, tag me @craftedworkshop
Crafted Workshop done!
Same! Thanks Johnny! Very happy with ours :)
I m going to build five
Just finished building. Quick tip: Don't just use the cheapest hooks you can find. It makes a diffrence! The large square ones sag alot which you need to account for. They also allow the bikes to slide around which throws off the spacing. The smaller curved ones seem to hold bikes in place just fine. Thanks for the video! 👍
What a fabulous workshop. This man is THE BUSINESS.
+Ystadcop hah, thanks!
Thanks for the video. I built a 6 ft version for 4 bikes today. Works great. Cost: $8.00 for the hooks. Already had the wood on hand from prior projects.
good for you. can you take a look of this one? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Thanks. This video popped up just as I bought a new bike and ran into the same issue in my garage. Perfect solution!
+Michael Clark thanks!
very well done and informative! Cheers!!
Cool project and great video quality. Thanks to Seth's bike hacks for introducing me to your channel.
Thanks, welcome to the channel!
I agree, and no British accents, with no articulation
Seth is awesome.
Man, You are a genius!
This is a really great and concise video. Thanks so much for making this!
+David Blakeman no problem, glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. I made a similar system for hanging my numerous bikes but didn't think to stagger the height of the hooks. The one useful addition I made was to make it so I could secure the bikes. I fastened another 2x4 at crank height. I attached rings to this 2x4 which lets me use cable locks to lock the bikes. It is super easy to unlock and remove whatever bike I would like to ride. While this will not deter a seasoned bike thief, it will certainly keep people from helping themselves when the garage door is open.
+Steve Taylor nice, that's a great addition.
Just looking for bike storage ideas for our garage, was happy to find you had a video!
Are you done searching, mind if you check this one too? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Dayum. This is such an "elegant" solution (simple, efficient, etc.) and sooo much better than hanging our bikes from the rafters in our garage...(insert visual from a horror movie of a room full of hanging, rusty but sharp tools swinging all over the place).
😢 actual, valuable, original content on UA-cam. Bless.
Thanks!
Wow, great wood work! Great video. Thank you!
+Sanj Gunetileke thanks!
I made a video on a diy bike rack thats more for indoor use if you want to check it out!

I know this is an old post, but this solution worked perfect for me. I just wanted to thank you for making this video, it took all the guess work out, and really helped.
Thanks for posting this video! I watched it and did exactly what you showed! Thanks!
Application is the key right? Would you consider doing this too if you haven't finished doing yours? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
This awesome I just did mine! Thank you for sharing
Nice, glad it was helpful Michael!
good for you. would you consider doing this one if you saw it earlier? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
I used your idea/dimensions and added a few things. I did it with just a single 3/4” sheet of plywood and cut two longitudinal 4” pieces to build up the hook lines. I added stain and poly to match the garage doors. Thanks for the inspiration.
Nice one. would you be able to consider doing this one if haven't finished your project? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Nice bike collection!
Thanks James!
Thank you for the great idea! Very easy to follow and adapt to my size (6') for our garage space! Also very compact to hold more bikes than a premade one!
No problem, still using mine years later after moving to a different house!
Thanks for that, great job.
Like your comment, would like to take a look at this? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
I will learn to build one . Love it. Ty
Good luck!
Thanks for the video man, I just did that in my garage and I love it..
Looks great! Cool design.
+Bruce A. Ulrich thanks Bruce!
Very nice! The cabinet was also a great idea! Impressive!!👍😀
+Arizona thanks!
I think you are the new standard for just-the-requisite-facts-ma'am no bullshit instructional video. Thank you & please keep up the good and necessary (and no-bullshit) work.
Really helpful video, I was able to knock this out in an hour.
Saw you on Seths channel doing the e-Bike thing, PROMPTLY came looking for your channel when I heard you were into woodworking.
Turns out I had visited this channel before and I actually BUILT your bike storage solution TODAY BEFORE I saw the video.
Its a good thing I already subscribed. GREAT STUFF man.
good you already apply it. let me know your thought about this one ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Great and cheap solution! Love the bike collection, too :)
Thanks!
AWESOME PROJECT MY FRIEND GOOD JOB BRO :)
Thanks TJ!
No problem my friend :)
Love it dude!
Great Video, gonna get started on a few of the ideas that you have shown to store my MTB in my very small flat, Many thanks and keep the ideas coming looking forward to future vids cheers.
+JAMES WEBSTER thanks!
Nicely done!
Thanks man!
Great video! Looking for a DIY way to store EIGHT bikes for myself, may give this a shot.
I have never seen this channel before but I really Love how you made your video! You made it quick getting to the point I didn't get bored nor did I miss anything and I was able to keep up. 😎
Your editing made me laugh in a good way 😅
You're really good at building stuff. You should consider carpeting a small business 🤠
Thanks a lot!
Excellent home project 👌...thanks very much
It's like watching a extended 'satisfying to watch video' but better and with purpose 🙂
great comment. let me know your thought about this one. ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Great quality & super helpful, thanks
Sweet Rack! I recognize you from Seth's!
Saved me over $256CDN dollars in buying the monkey bar racks! I cut the 2x4x8 in half to make a bike rack and a rack for shovels and other tools. Total cost came to 44 dollars! My garage is now organized.
wow nice savings, would you consider doing this if you saw this earlier ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Not sure why it took me so long to think about looking here for a bike storage solution. Knowing you have done stuff with Seth I should have also known you may have something bike related for storage. I have been trying to come up with an idea to store my 7+ bikes in the least amount of room possible but still be able to get to them with ease. I am also renting so had been planning on building something free standing but at this point this is a way better solution and ... Spackle for the move/win haha.
Thanks for this amazing video and I also love the shelf idea, only wish I had picked up the table saw someone was giving away last week.
Looking forward to you and @Seth's Bike Hacks doing another video
I did this years ago in my garage and it worked well. I used to have 20 bikes in my garage and still could park 2 cars.
Wow! i bet you have big garage though. Let me know your thought about this one. ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Super clean!
Thanks Dylan!
Very nice! thanx for taking the time to make this video!
No problem Craig!
It's easy when you know! ( and have the tools) looks neat I must say bravo.
+jr M thanks!
Nice project Johnny!
+donny carter thanks Donny!
Great informative video, just what I needed. Just wish I had your workshop and tools. 😉 🚴 .
+David Bradbury thanks!
This video was really well done. Thanks!
Thanks!
Proper tools are everything.
Nice efficient use of space.
Thanks Charlie!
Thanks, good ideas!
Well done!
Very handy project, man!
+Humus Workshop thanks!
LOL...I WAS wondering about the tear out on the plywood. I know you would not let that happen even with a "garage" project. I breathed a sigh of relief when you cleared that up for us. =)
Great project you have given me an idea for the 6 bikes (sometimes more depending on how many kids friends are over) I have floating around my garage.
Hah, yea man I won't be having them cut my expensive plywood again.
Fantastic video. Nice work!!
+KJMTB thanks!
nice simple idea
This was so helpful, thanks
i wish i had your skills, man. great work.
+Guy Fir thanks!
Nice indeed! cool solutions!
+Cactus! workshop thanks!
Nice build. make the space look much neater
Thanks!
Nice setup
Thanks!
Nice shirt! I'm a huge Liga #9 fan .. .especially the robusto. Nice video too.
Thanks! I used to work for Drew Estate, loved Liga!
Thanks this worked for me !
Great content, thanks.
Nice comment, can you check this one as well ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Awesome 👏
Hey Johnny, great vid! We used your design in our garage and now we have a LEGIT (and pretty) bike rack. Thanks dude!!
Nice, that’s awesome!
Can you point out what part of the video shows the second attachment point for the bikes? I see the hooks at the top, but what keeps the lower part of the bike from moving... thanks.
The lower part stays in place due to gravity, it doesn’t have any attachment points for the bottom.
Crafted Workshop thanks
Great video. Def want to do something like this.
+Carlos Almendárez thanks, have fun!
I stopped in for the rack, but stayed for the bourbon shirt! Great video...cheers!
Hah, thanks!
Great content.
Great. Tahnks
very nice,thank you
Super cool project
Thanks Greg!
Thank you very much! The video helped me save some good money!
Great!
Saved me massive cash brother. Thanks
Glad I could help!
Awesome video friend. Words of advice "push stick"
Awesome! Very clean and concise - you talk well with a nice tinge of humor ;o)
+Anil Kay thanks!
love your skill
+JaydSpecs thanks!
Good ideas thanks. But - to be honest - thinking of that cabinet you made, not many folks have those very nice saws/tools etc you are using! However, the rack with hooks was a great idea, feasible with the usual 'amateur' diy tools - and I'm working on it!
Nice honest opinion liked it. can you comment on this one too? ua-cam.com/video/jq-nh_QP9cI/v-deo.html
Nice job!
+Fred McIntyre thanks Fred!
Cool project! When I saw the thumbnail pic for your video and then heard you say "French cleat" I thought you cut the entire rail with a 45 degree angle for both of the pieces with the bike hooks, that would have allowed you to hang other cabinets/shelves or accessories anywhere along the length of that wall. Great space-savings, I may copy this for the many bicycles that my kids, my wife, and I have!
ChicoMillion that's a cool idea! Thanks!
nice job Johnny.
Thanks!
Thank you for the video. Just completed my own version today and it works great. With mountain bikes, I find you do need to be careful about scraping the tip of the hooks as the coating can come off. I am not a craftsman type by any measure and this only took me 3 hours to complete..including going to get the wood.
+Brian Suter that's great, glad the video helped!
