I'm not mad I bought the LE Rapunzel last year because I love her braid and dress and crystals so much better, but I'm thrilled they have this version for kids now! I might get the play line Merida if they do one! ❤ And I'm stoked for her cute painting set that has Pascal! 😍
She is so beautiful. I like her better than Elsa actually. I guess since Julie is a best seller, this is another similar doll that should be popular for kids. I want to touch her hair! I’m glad they are making the Disney dolls at better price points. One thing I loved about original Rapunzel was her long braid adorned with flowers but I guess that could be recreated on her. I received my play line Rapunzel today. I didn’t get the collector version because I didn’t like the hair dragging on the ground, this one is perfect for a doll. She has blue-green eyes, they don’t look like they do in the stock photos. Although I do like the dress and accessories on the collector doll more than this one. But I bought her to use her as a fashion doll along with my other truly me dolls, I didn’t get her just to display in her Princess dress. She’s wearing a cute little Etsy hoodie and jeggings with boots right now, she’s so pretty 😍 very happy to have her in my collection.
The release of this doll is actually very intriguing it really makes you think why truly were those dolls so expensive ?? The wig is definitely different so I can see the cost saving there but that’s at most what? $10? 😂 over $100 for a thicker cardboard box and glass sparkles is insanity

I was literally thinking just 2 days ago during the Frozen release that I regretted not splurging on the Rapunzel collectors doll when she released, so seeing THIS GIRL in my email inbox this morning was a true "wait is this some weird doll collector dream I'm having?" moment. 😂 Needless to say, I'm getting her!
Something I just noticed is that both of the Rapunzel dolls have blue-grey eyes, but Disney's Rapunzel has bright green eyes??? This seems like a weird oversight for such an expensive collaboration
I have the play line Rapunzel and her eyes are blue-green, they’re not gray at all. They do come off as grayish in pictures but there’s absolutely no gray in them.
Ooo, love her!! Though her facial features look different from the collector's version somehow but I can't figure out why. I don't know why they didn't include her second movie dress, I like her accessories though!

You make a great point about not having the meet style. It makes me want to get my hands on her and play with that hair.

From the business perspective, Well done to bring her back. Actually, I have the $300 version of the 3 Rapunzel, Belle and Jasmin. Frankly I was not that 'wooed' by Jasmin, I did just because. My store , is the NYC store. and Jasmin is still there. Not a good move to make a Jasmin again since she did not sell as expected from the business perspective. I love Rapunzel , I will get her again soon in this version and looking forward from the Frozen sisters, I purchased them. Wished that Ariel, had the hair longer and the fish tail of the dress executed differently. better, but Im looking from an adult collector perspective.

I had an AG craft book that was either Samantha or Addy...probably Samantha, but one of my friend's parents went bizerk over their daughter being an A+ student and she could not draw, paint or create to save her life. The parents were so tired of my stuff making The Wall or art show every year that they were even competitive with me coming over for play dates. It was always dolls that I loved so art was second to me even with AG. So...YES, kids nowadays need to do Color by Numbers or this new wet art.😢 Its sad that it has come to that, kids should feel comfortable in their own play environment without the parents commenting, but there are too many competitive parents who, let's just be real...think their kid's artwork looks crappy or not so great. 😅 Gone are the days that kids who have real talent for art, design or crafts can just show off through AG. Maybe it could also be the younger kids wanting to explore in a scaffolded play activity that comes with a beautiful doll such as this. I feel what your putting down though. Samantha's set was EVERYTHING❤❤❤❤😊

Maybe it would’ve been too expensive to redo the batches and to have green eyes. Just a theory tho because like others have said, there’s no way they fumbled the eye color on such a large collaboration.
Can I just say that they should get rid of collector dolls altogether? They're too expensive for adult collectors like me and children who want them have no way of accessing them because of the price point. So let's just do away with it (unless we have something like, say, a Kirsten doll in a bedazzled meet outfit studded up in crystals at a price point of, like, 200 bucks.) and make all the princesses and other dolls playline. Ok?
I don’t even see how it’s going to be successful from here on out after the release of Rapunzel. So I seriously wonder if we truly are getting anymore Disney LEs. I am a big Disney collector and even I won’t be paying those prices anymore. Only one I could see being a sustainable seller is Missy Original Snow White.
I will be getting this doll!! I was super disappointed that I missed out on the LE, but not anymore with this doll. Also, I think her hair should have been longer, and she should have automatically come with her crown. It should not be an accessory.
Yes, I agree that AG is probably going to make the Disney princess a staple line. I also think they are going to slowly put a pause of the historical AG line for a while since we are up with Isabella and Nikki in the 1999 Era. At least until they come up with a new historical line.
I honestly have mixed feelings about the doll. I bought the collector dolls because I loved tangled and honestly could not care less about the added "bling". I am happy for those who can now get her but at the same time sometimes you just miss out on getting what you want and that's just life. I feel like the whole point of the LE dolls and what the GOTY line used to be was to get it while you can because this is your only chance. There have been countless dolls that I have missed for one reason or another and I don't feel like AG owes it to me to release any of them because I couldn't get it. I do not think having her as playline is a bad idea but it just seems too soon to release it, give us new dolls first then maybe redo the LEs, in addition I have already seen people online talking about skipping the new Frozen dolls since they are not sure if they want to drop over $600 bucks for dolls that might be available for less than half the price in a year. I will say these new accessories are really cute and although not PC quality will for sure be added to my collection.
i sometimes wonder that in the future if , AG .. will release a. ‘adult line’ of dolls .. that are more detailed or if a whole other company could release a new line of dolls that are like these but more for the adult age i would def be buying lol
The thing is, with Swarovski is that they stopped selling crystals to DIY’s community stating they will cater to more high end licensed sellers. Hate Swarovski making this move in a sense that’s why when I see a Swarovski AG girl idk how to feel about it lol 😂 I’ll get over it but it makes me mad/upset. My wallet’s shaking with the price if the hair accessories lol 😂 but is something I’ll get

Can you make detailed comparison between AG and Our Generation? Coz if they were two times the price then maybe I see it, but I can't see they are worth 5 times the price. AG have better quality of hair, outfits and shoes but not $135 vs $25 better

Very Disappointed in American Girl for rereleasing the Rapunzel doll so soon after the EXPENSIVE $300 Doll. I love my collector doll, and I didn't buy her because I expected her to grow in value. But I did expect her to be unique and special. American Girl has destroyed my trust in their integrity and I will no longer buy anymore "collector" dolls at ridiculously inflated prices !!!

I think Jasmin is the worst doll poorly executed. First and mostly because she is middle eastern not Afro-American. Remaking a princess, well the proof is in the pudding. I love for the money the ILY18 inch dolls. They have character for play. Their bodies and great and for the price point better than the Target or Walmart brands. Just some thoughts.

The Corine mold is designed to represent Asian features and really should’t be used ever on a non Asian doll
