Dude don't get rid of the Theatre of Pain CD it'll probably be worth money someday. Kind of like the old vinyl pressings that had different albums on side B.
They are HDCD (Hybrid), so there is a layer with other content if you play them in a PC from that time running XP or Win 98SE. Maybe a bit old, but there is a chance getting a old laptop to run those. Agree, Bend Over. ;)

The two albums he did with James Gang, were "Bang" and "Miami" When Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple, Tommy Bolin replaced him "Come taste the Band" Bolins two solo albums were "Teaser" and "Private eyes" He played on Billy Cobham's album "Spectrum" I believe he played on a very early Moxey album.

I definitely prefer the 1999 reissues, these editions look cool though but for me I prefer jewel case not digipacks I most likely will never get these. It’s also sad Red white and Crüe, and the music to crash your car to box sets are no longer in print and available.

The crucial Crüe ones are definitely the best, they are in jewel cases and have great info in the booklets and I love the bonus tracks on Too Fast for love, Shout at the devil and the 1994 album, the bonus tracks on the others aren’t as interesting to me but still good to have. The crucial Crüe ones are so expensive now on eBay sadly. I don’t even think BMG have made a cd press yet for every album from the 1994 album-Saints of Los Angeles, so technically the only motley Crüe albums in print on CD are the first 5 albums and the dirt soundtrack
I too prefer jewel cases and whats worse is the digipacks with the sleeves, I'm always afraid I'm going to scratch the disc taking it out. When I do get the sleeve digipack, I usually grab an empty jewel case and put 'em in those but I of course still keep the digipack. I buy cds at thrift stores just for that reason and I only pick the ones with the best cases, they also make great replacement cases for damaged jewel cases I already own. As far as the hype stickers go, I wish I would have saved all of 'em from years ago but I do save them now and I usually stick them somewhere on the lyric booklet. I bought a hairdryer to heat up the stickers a bit just so they'd peel off easier without tearing, I have a heat gun but I don't use it on the hype stickers, it gets way too hot!

Theatre Of Pain is my third favorite Crue album WAY underrated even by the Band Vince in his recent Documentary said Smoking in the boys room Home Sweet Home we're all that made that Album go Platinum and they Headlined for the first time, I disagree Theatre has the best Deep cuts of any Crue Album
Personally I dislike Smoking in the Boys Room very much. It is a hell of a mediocre song. It is a song I have to skip. Vince's probably right, as the music video of this song went constantly on MTV back then to the boredom, creating a hype and sell-out big time. It is not very hard rocking. It is like Judas Priest's Johnny Be Goode-thing. Horrible decisions these bands took back then. I think especially, Crue might have been much bigger than they got back then if they stayed truthful to themselves, creating songs they had on the two first albums only. When Girls Girls Girls came out, I was done. Horrible, just horrible. Otherwise, beside this song (Smoking in The...), and the bad production, there are a few songs that are a hidden gem on this album.

When I first saw the BMG reissues my first thought was that the CDs themselves have a look like they came out decades ago because they look plain. The biggest complaint was they had no bonus tracks which also make them seem vintage. I have multiple copies of every album because I'm OCD so I can't afford to give money to BMG but great video. Funniest dude on the net these days. Don't agree with all your opinions, but it is sure fun to follow this channel. At least we share the love for Kiss and Mötley's first album. My guess is that those 1999 CDs are heavily compressed, and the new BMG's will surpass them easily. The same issue is with the Iron Maiden CDs from around that area (1995/1996/1997), drums are smacked to pieces. Those who say they like them, don't know how dynamic and great those albums were in the 80's. I still kept those very first CD's as well, and they are pure AAD, so the first stream of Maiden CD's (the CDP ones) seems to be the closest you get to the master tapes without a bunch of enhancements. What does those 1999 Mötley Crüe say, ADD? Seems like the old 1999 CD's is also BMG, but they are Hybrid (HDCD). Have you tried playing them in a PC with Windows 98SE or Windows XP? 2022 ones is mastered by Kevin Gray. One of the best in the industry. 1999 ones is mastered by Chris Solem, and this is what Discogs says about Chris: "Mastering engineer between 1997 and 2007 at Future Disc. Then Kris gave up his mastering engineer profession to start a new business in Pilates & Sports Training." Remember that 1997 to somewhere out in the 2000's was a brickwall-mastering period for CD's. The loudness war, so keep this in mind.
I looked at a review of the Dr. Feelgood Reissue on Amazon, and the reviewer said the inside of the booklet for Dr. Feelgood had the Theater Of Pain inner content!
The sleeves are made to look distressed because the record company didn't have the original photos. So they have a amazing idear. Make them look worn😎😍😂
I’m glad I still have my 80s cds for these titles. The ‘loud, compressed sounding’ 1999 remasters repackaged again with ‘faux sleeve wear’ covers, inlay card screw up’s and poor photo reproduction. I’ll pass.
Never get rid of any of them. I've collected music all my life, and it is fun to have different reissues of an album, even the mistakes they do sometimes is fun to have. Have to say this, because I got rid of my whole Kiss collection of vinyl records as a kid, and sold them for only $50, all 20 records. Do you guys think that I regret that?
@@rabarebra I have the new vinyl reissues of TFFL and SATD; which are indeed the new Kevin Gray remasters (or re-cuts) for vinyl. Talk on Internet forums suggests the new remastering has not been undertaken for the new cd equivalents.
@@gavinhardy75 Maybe Kevin Gray didn't do the CD remastering. He usually does vinyl records these days. This requires different mastering techniques than CDs. I've compared the new mastering (vinyl) to the old 80's pressings. There is more bass on the new ones, as they often cut the bass around 80 Hz back then. The bass sounds fantastic, and it is not overdone. It is perfect, and the other ranges is not compressed either. It is very true to the originals, but more bass. It sounds fuller, especially Shout At the Devil benefit very well on the upgrade. Mean while, I do like the Too Fast for Love the best - it is so raw and edgy sounding - plus more bass. All I mentioned now are the 2022 vinyl records. Don't get me wrong. Haven't checked the CDs myself, but only high-res on spotify. And clearly the spotify has its own streaming mastering. It doesn't sound anything nearly as good as the vinyl records.
I also prefer jewel cases. I can't stand digipaks. My favorite Motley cds are the 99/2000 Sweden versions. They include the logo font on the spine and the Shout cover came with the original pentagram cover.
Dude don't send that Theatre of pain album! It will definitely be worth some money!!! Just ask them to send you a new album cover insert with the correct Theatre lyrics! I'm curious if Dr. feelgood has Theatre of Pain's lyrics on the Booklet insert inside?!! You got get it and see if the messed it up? Well also alot of their t shirts online have like the Dr. Feelgood logo on a Shout at the devil era photo of band or A mix of one album logo with a different era photo... I honestly don't like when they do that!!
That’s not the “original” Shout At The Devil album artwork. The original LP cover didn’t have photos on it - it had a black pentagram done in glossy ink.
None is remixed. If an album is remixed, they will tell it is remixed. A remix takes the multitrack tapes, spread them out individually, then they level and EQ (remix) it before doing a new master tape. That is a remix. A remaster is the master tape remastered (the stereo master only). Sometimes they remaster an remaster, but they will tell which they remastered. LOL
Not sure why they were re-issued??? Looks like a boring cash grab to buy albums we already own. Shout was pitch black with an embossed pentagram. These reissues look stark. I'm probably done putting more money into those dudes wallets.
Because BMG now owns the Mötley catalog and they have to release new versions because the older ones are now out of print.Gives the chance for newer fans to enjoy the albums as well as long time fans to “upgrade” if they choose.
I think the remaster is a good call for us who wants a mint vinyl record, even though we have the original vinyl records as well. It is fun, and it introduces and keep their products in market for new fans as well. Remember that you are not alone in the world, Matt Lortz. Mick already said it, butt butt...... ;)

I also prefer jewel cases. I can't stand digipaks. My favorite Motley cds are the 99/2000 Sweden versions. They include the logo font on the spine and the Shout cover came with the original pentagram cover.

I'm curious if Dr. feelgood has Theatre of Pain's lyrics on the Booklet insert inside?!! You got get it and see if the messed it up? Well also alot of their t shirts online have like the Dr. Feelgood logo on a Shout at the devil era photo of band or A mix of one album logo with a different era photo... I honestly don't like when they do that!!

That’s not the “original” Shout At The Devil album artwork. The original LP cover didn’t have photos on it - it had a black pentagram done in glossy ink.

Honestly I can barely hear a difference between the 99 remasters and the new ones.
None is remixed. If an album is remixed, they will tell it is remixed. A remix takes the multitrack tapes, spread them out individually, then they level and EQ (remix) it before doing a new master tape. That is a remix.
A remaster is the master tape remastered (the stereo master only). Sometimes they remaster an remaster, but they will tell which they remastered. LOL

I love the digi-pack versions. They take up less room. Jewel boxes are fragile, they always crack, sooner or later.
Those are horrible! The Japan mini lp’s blow these cash in reissues.
Not sure why they were re-issued??? Looks like a boring cash grab to buy albums we already own. Shout was pitch black with an embossed pentagram. These reissues look stark. I'm probably done putting more money into those dudes wallets.
Because BMG now owns the Mötley catalog and they have to release new versions because the older ones are now out of print.Gives the chance for newer fans to enjoy the albums as well as long time fans to “upgrade” if they choose.
I think the remaster is a good call for us who wants a mint vinyl record, even though we have the original vinyl records as well. It is fun, and it introduces and keep their products in market for new fans as well. Remember that you are not alone in the world, Matt Lortz. Mick already said it, butt butt...... ;)
