What's even worse than phones around the table is a phone around the campfire.
You know the scene. Someone's telling a story. Maybe it's half-remembered, maybe half-bullshit. But that shouldn't matter in this context. Maybe the others doubt it, and maybe there's a back-and-forth. Here, when the exact facts aren't known in the moment, the group is forced to grasp for generalizations, or specifics, or analogies, and builds on the subject together to find the essential. The conversation can then go deeper when everyone is brought along this way.
But now, we have the very smart person who pulls up Google to fact-check everyone right in the moment, or read you some expert's well-polished piece. It might seem efficient to cut the crap like this, but it shortcuts the whole process of forming our shared understanding together. Everyone ends up with a superficial understanding, memorized tropes, and outsourced thinking. I don't want to hear "let me send you a link that proves me right" - I want to know what you actually think.

This girl I was dating in the mid 90's was one of the few people I knew who had a cell phone at the time. She warned me to never get one, you can be tracked because they know everyone you call. She said every number was on the phone bill, how long you talk for...etc I can only imaging the surveillance they have now on these cellphone that are hooked into everything even bank accounts.
She racked up so much debt she had to get a 2nd job to pay off the over $2,000 bill she got. She was just trying to finish paying the bill so she can get rid of the phone. I looked at that thing, held it and though I have no need for it. Even though we didn't date long, I held on to her advice and never got one. To me, people walking around holding their phone look so stupid, checking it every 5 seconds, they're insane!

I used the Optimus in an art Gallery application .. within 24 hours I was unable to regulate my temperature .. massive gut pain then flashbacks of the imagery both in my sleep and randomly during the days following .. all vagal nerve functional feedback

If you "don't get it", imagine how those of us who don't carry a cell phone, who graduated from college in the late 70s feel who grew up hearing people talking and laughing with each other in restaurants . Whereas today we more often than not walk in to an almost silent room with almost everyone looking down at their phones. It is creepy! Don't people want to relax and talk to each other? Don't they have anything to say to each other? For all I know they could very well be texting each other on their phones instead of talking to each other when they are seated inches away from each other. It is mind boggling.

Iimagine this sceneario: You get everyone to wear AR glasses and then you can just obscure whole buildings and shady stuff from the public view.
Was talking to some friends about this and that idea popped up and we we're like "woah, this is not a good idea to fully replace our current gadjets with AR galsses".
Seems fun and kinda cool when considering cool possibilities, like even in the rural world with thing like:
    - It saying if a mushroom is poisonous or not,
    - helping differenciate screws/car parts,
    - helping you look at schematics from a build,
    - having a measuring tape or level in your eyes,....
But then, you think about how governments and organisations work and it just feels so dangerous.

That is my concern, what the government has planned. I think its going to be used by 3rd party agencies that work government contracts so people have spy wear doing the work for the government. Eventually it will be a web of surveillance as everyone has one of these devices recording each other, conversations, location, NOTHING will be private anymore as an ever increasingly ignorant society records their own crimes and its all recorded for evidence in court. Time to leave Babylon.

I cannot relate to anyone, or have a decent conversation because they're not interesting and unintelligent. I don't see humanity evolving, they're going to be replaced by A.I. and only the smart people will be left behind to deal with that abomination.

All this neurological tech reminds me of the movie "Strange Days" (1995). This movie is by James Cameron (Titanic, Terminator, Avatar...etc.), but some how never was a famous movie that many people watched. What was interesting at the time it was filmed it was 1995 and it took place 4 years into the future in the end of 1999 when people thought the world was going to end by Y2K, the anti-christ or some natural disaster. In the movie the government invented a device you put on your head and it records everything the viewer experiences through sensory devices. Then you can relive what was recorded, emotions, sensations...etc through what they called "Playback" and people were addicted to experiencing other people's "Playback". I won't say more about the movie to spoil it, but its one of those sleeper movies that most don't know about.
I can see this happening with Elon's Neuro link, how long before this happens just like in the movie Strange Days.

If we all just hide behind something that makes us feel safe, it doesn’t really matter what that might be, tech or whatever it is that makes people feel safe.
We probably all remember if we close or cover our as eyes; as children, nothing bad was ever going to happen 😅
In reality we learned, that didn’t work.

This physical plane of existence is ALREADY a virtual reality, meaning that the Supreme Creator places us at this lowest level of Creation to gain experiences ... kind of like a school room (many people have heard it being described this way). Anyway, to add another level of virtual reality is truly an illusion and trap. This level of God's Creation requires quite a bit of self-awareness, courage and fortitude to master it, so it's not by mistake, or an overlooking by God.

Well I can tell ya it’s not going to make things better that’s for sure. It may be one of those fads that dies within two years and never makes it mainstream. Or it will be used and experimented upon those already with social skill problems or mental illness issues that in the end only drive them deeper into a deeper rut.

maybe this is my own bias, but i don't see this thing permeating society on a mass scale like the phone has. the head gear is goofy, cumbersome and impractical to carry around. your phone is easy, slip it into your pocket. plus it's 3,500 $. it's possible in the future a slimmer version of it that looks more like eye-glasses could become more mainstream. But i think at this current moment we are safe from the masses being absorbed into it.... idk about 20 years from now though.

Hi Curtis I enjoy your videos the intellectual analysis you provide. I hope your receptive to my comment. When you use the word "retarded" I just think its a bit insensitive for folks that have people or children in their families born with congenital or acquired conditions. Not sure if its just a habit or a Canadian slang or why you use it in the context you do. I have nothing against Canadians as my mother and father are born and raised in Nova Scotia. My father was a coal miner in either Dominion or Halifax.

On the End Times by Saint Nilus the Athonite: "He (the Antichrist) will then dispense crafty wisdom to the wretched man so that he invents ways to speak to one another from one end of the earth to the other, fly in the air like birds and cross the bottom of the sea like fish.
THE POOR PEOPLE WILL DO ALL THESE AND WILL LIVE IN COMFORT, NOT KNOWING THAT ALL ARE DELUSIONS BY THE ANTICHRIST. The Evil one will enable science to achieve such huge imaginary advances so that people will be misled and no longer believe in the existence of the Triune God."
