Several smaller counties in have become 'constitutional counties' where the the Sheriffs have vowed to only enforce laws that are constitutional. We need more of this!
I live in a county like that but it’s in a blue state. So, I still want to leave the state. The next things county’s need to do is secure the ability to garden and farm forever and no government involvement
I think if the Sheriff allows them to regulate that it is time for a new Sheriff.

I have done quite a lot the last two years, such as moved out from the city to the countryside where I bought an old farm, I have now chickens who lay eggs - witch is capital - have my own potatoes, chipping wood from my own forest and so on. Very interesting to learn about all this because it’s not something I ever have done before. And those eggs, potatoes, strawberries, carrots are a lot, read it again, a lot better than the stuff I could buy in the store. Life is just getting better and better, and all that hard work is very good exercise!
Its a great topic to raise. Freedom for me is ability to eat, live safely in my home and not be poisoned by what I consume.

I can think about a concept or idea for days and think I have it figured out but then when I discuss it with someone it's like they immediately see it from a different point of view and bring up things I didn't even consider. This is why it is so important to talk to people.

We're in New Zealand and about to try and leave a smallish 'shitty' ourselves... we may be able to achieve something close to what you have, we're so grateful for your expertise, knowledge and the fact you share so much of it with us. These days there are so few people out there who aren't afraid to say it like it is. We are awake, and our mindsets have changed exponentially (especially over the past couple of years) because of what we've seen. Everything has changed, the day our own church slammed the door in our faces because of our family's medical choices was the day we saw that NOTHING but God Himself can be depended upon. I can say most of the smaller towns i have seen are growing faster now and coming back to life again where ruins once stood from past generations. Building up your social circle opens doors you never knew were open.
Large groups of people living together brings democrats which destroys freedom.

I had another spin on this thought a couple days ago- haven't fully thought through it yet, but I'm thinking something like-
Liberty is the degree to which you are restrained from acting. (Complete liberty would be no restraint at all)
And freedom is the degree to which you are capable of acting.

Very nicely explaned Curtis. I can tell you, that at almost 70, this way of thinking/acting has more then "paid" off now. My mom could never understand me, as I was always generous with people, not with money but with time and support in their dream/path of life.

Thank you, Curtis. Mindset is key. It’s so hard to prioritize my life with so much to do on my 2 acres in Bigfork mt, build community for myself, and tend to extended family here. Sigh… time is precious. Freedom is accomplishment and attainment of goals, finishing tasks. Good vibes with humans and safe fencing for animals. Water freedom is key. I’m not there yet, except I’m practicing the idea of a “foot of mulch in the soil for every month without rain”. At least then the plants are free. I’m doing it alone, year 2, freedom=helping hands, (8forms of capital is great!).

Thank you for sharing. I grew up as the oldest of 3 with a single mom in America and the idea if scarcity is all I knew up until about 5 years ago. Its amazing to have my mind set free, but I am working through the practicality of it all. I will keep going at it little by little. Our family is getting there.
My Husband and I just found your videos. We live in the US. We left the Schitty 3 years ago. Bought some acreage far out in. the country. and have been working hard to be self sufficient . We haven't reached all of our goals quite yet. We may be late in the game, but figured it's never too late to start. Thank you for your videos.. Good thoughts and things to think about. Tried getting family on board, didn't get anywhere so I'm doing little things here and there on my property on my own. I watch a lot of videos for encouragement, information, and ideas.

I would express the perquisites to freedom in just 3 simpler terms: 1. Infrastructure 2. Tools & 3. Skills with these in place one can choice to interact with the mainstream intentionally and begin the work of true freedom that comes from transcending the prisons we hold ourselves within.
It's so nice to see you speaking out about some of this stuff on such a big platform. It seems many in the off-grid community come from the green, sustainability, climate change, part of the agenda/psyop.

This is another great reference for me as my boyfriend and I are embarking to look for our homestead property in middle Tennessee. I was living on a homestead in Cheatham county and totally agree with the value of social capital. I'm going to miss my friends and community around Ashland City, TN including the family farms I've worked on to gain Knowledge and skills. In the Quran, it says that offering one kernel of corn in service of the Creator (to help others for example) will lead the Creator to bless you with 7 ears of corn, with each ear of corn possessing hundreds more kernel. the definition of freedom is choice, the more choices you have the more freedom you have, we as in canada don't have that much freedom, limited with choice, i do agree that this country is awesome and the people are great, i love big city living and i also love camping in the woods then you meet some other group just chilling and we hang out and they are great, the random good people you meet in the middle of the woods is great
You articulated it pretty well. I was trying to come up with this the other day myself, mindset was at the top of my list too. I was also kind of lumping in freedom with true happiness and had points of doing what you were born to do irrelevant of money and materialism and cultural mind boxes, coming into your true purpose living positively and and making your dreams a reality now as i believe when doing so everything you need will be provided in one way or the other from the universe, it wants you to succeed when your doing what you are meant to do.

Totally agree about state of decline, we are thinking ahead, and working on off grid / we have our own water now with a small tank which is so awesome as New Zealand water is very polluted by nitrogen from dairy farming, we are now working on power (we have electric cars/hybrids), I have quail, chooks, gardens, (in suburbs ) we cook a lot from scratch, we are also going to build a tiny house for both our teenagers....I found with self-sufficiency that if you work on one thing at a time, get that right, then build the next, you get there and impletement those changes into your life
I stopped in a lay-by today on the way to my office … there was a very large oak tree absolutely laden with acorns. On the ground there were hundreds and hundreds. In the back of my car I had an empty sack used for holding 10kg Wood Pellets (About 20 lbs) I filled the sack with acorns and I’m going to plant and grow them on I’m not sure how many there are yet but tomorrow I’m going to weigh and count them there is probably 2000 … imagine that …..a whole forest in a 10kg sack…

Thank you Curtis!!! You actually made me feel better about how I’ve progressed thru life!!! Long story short, thru a series of decisions, Ive ended up debt free with 35 acres, a nice home and shop in north Idaho. Im 72 and female, but continue to expand my freedom with ever larger gardens and now fencing my acreage to run cows and maybe goats. Can’t decide what I’ll do after that, but I’ll think of something 😂🤗

Love this long format riffing. I agree about making your voice heard for small town politics. I stay out of politics as much as I can, but when you live in a small town, often silence is met with ideologies that reflect big cities, so you have to speak up. Small down values don't have to die with the old generation, the folks moving to small towns have to learn to speak up and represent the values that lured them there in the first place, or they will be lost with the old timers and all the city folk who are just escaping the shitties to hide and don't do anything or speak up ... those values will be lost.

I think you are completely correct.
I do not disagree with anything you have said here in this post, however, I have been wondering if we can ever truly reach "self-reliance" (AKA: "Freedom"). I am completely steeped in trying to build infrastructure on my property. I'm not living there 100% so that makes it harder. But, nonetheless, I am moving toward independence from the "system". I am often plagued within the thought that there is not a definitive freedom to be had. As I see it, we will always have to interact with the matrix. Can we ever truly escape the matrix? I know, the purists believe we can batter and trade for everything, but I'm not sure that can be a reality unless the entire matrix crashes and we are FORCED to figure it out on our own just as the early pioneers did. Anyway, no point here, just my own mental riff. Thanks!
I think the old mountain men were free. My feeling is there are still mountain men. My next thought is all the homeless people by choice are free. Unless they have a drug habit they are free. No taxes. No rules. If you live in the woods not paying taxes. Not using any government utilities then you are free.
Please consider building a rain harvesting roof over your water tanks. One year you may have less snowfall or rain. It all helps.

One thing I learned from working in the corporate world is that corporations care NOTHING for the human individual. All corporate employees are completely indispensable. And everything corporations create or sell can be dispensed with at any time, regardless of benefits to humanity. It's ALL about the bottom line. And interestingly enough, corporations are now recognized as having the same rights as a human being.

I recall while building an AD SEG facility at one of our local prisons here in the no-longer-free state of California, having a discussion with one of the inmates who had spent time in AD SEG or solitary confinement, who for the uninitiated is designed to break the human spirit.
He commented to me that in solitary most break. They break...mentally, physically. That's the point of AD-SEG. It's polite torture.
He finished with, "Most break, but some just become stronger.".
These psycopaths that run the world are creating their worst enemy. Their repressive policies are creating a class that will NEVER submit. The flaw in their plan is that they can NEVER allow dissent, yet they are creating the dissenters.

I’m at the Geographic phase but can’t make the move due to elderly parents who won’t move. You bring up several intetesting points. In my own case, I had the mindset and SOME knowledge, but in several cases lacked understanding of how to INTERPRET the data I had. And so while I had knowledge and the mindset, I acted on the wrong premise because my interpretation of that knowledge was flawed. THAT has been my biggest hinderance in moving ahead. That, along with in some situations not knowing how/where to get the reliable data.

Do not attempt to fix health issues if your mental state is poor
Do not attempt to fix your mental state if your spirit isn't fed
Begin at the top and it all flows from there. Build your relationship with God. Many of you do not even know what this means or how to do it. Others will join a Church and be warned, many modern church's have lost their way and will not help you. Your relationship with God is a personal thing. Begin by setting aside time every day to Pray.
To atheists, pray. It's doesn't matter if you reject God, he doesn't reject you. So why should Atheists trust my advice?
Because think on it. By praying you are concentrating your mind on what matters to you. You are being thankful for all you have. You are thinking of concerns , of others. you are gaining perspective in life by praying
The next step is to learn to listen to God. It is a very real phenomenon. Everyone has an inner voice. Christians call this the Holy spirit. Religious or not, it doesn't matter. You have an entity speaking to you if you'd only listen. This entity. God/Holy spirit/Inner voice is 100% on your side. Is 100% honest. Has a perspective you cannot gain yourself.
So learn to quiet your mind and hear and follow your connection to God. Your spirit will flourish with these two steps and from there your mental, then physical states will improve.
