    Thunder... rain... and the sounds of a flowing river...
    Yep!... That's EXACTLY my idea of a relaxing day... it's what my bedside "sound device" has programmed! 😂

    There is SO much to see in that part of the country, The Biltmore in Asheville,NC…… built in the 1920’s by Cornelius Vanderbilt’s son……he was 27 at the time. Imagine a 27 yr old boy accomplishing that project today..

    Can’t believe believe you got a camp spot no reservations ‼️. Good for you. I’ve camped @ Smohemount & Elkmount many years ago. The SMOHkES IS the most visited NP in the US, being on the east side of the Miss Rv….enjoy

      Hey Kevin. We are thinking of going back to That area next year too. Stan lives in Kingsport TN. So not that far from the Smoky's What was your cooler doing out when in bear country? Especially when sleeping in a tent. One of the first thing I learned when we moved to New Hampshire. Alway Keep everything in the Bear box or your car. Good to hear from you. Gary

    Hello fellow Hiker, Great to see you at HTC. You mentioned in this video about a pop sound with the grill. I had the same issue with a heater and thought it was bad. I purchased a new one and had the same issue. I figured out that it was a few bad propane cylinders that I had. I used a fresh cylinder and no more issues. this might have been the issue instead of the adapter. Have a great holiday.

      @recuerob1 Hey Gary Here. It was good to meet you. We spoke to Tembo at the Overland East Expo. They said it was a design flaw with the old adapter and they had a new one. They gave us a replacement with a extra right on the spot.. Thanks for watching.

    The last time that Deb and I hiked to Laurel Falls, I slipped on the mossy rocks and fell on my ass. The only damage was a bent filter thread on my camera’s lens, and a huge dent in my pride. The place was packed, and everyone turned to see what had happened. 🥴

      Apologies for the late reply @Steve_and_Deb_Explore_the_USA Oh dear... welp, better a bent lens, than a broken bone. I feel your pain. I tripped and fell recently, at our friend's bday party in the middle of the restaurant! Good thing I have an afro! My head just bounced right off the floor! LOL!!!!

    Great installment as always! I love that you two just roll with it when the weather turns sour. Does your 270 setup have floors, too?

    • @skywaystohighways
      @skywaystohighways  7 місяців тому

      Apologies for the late reply @dantekarraker6851 Thank you! We've come to accept that the rain clouds follow us around! Lol! It doesn't have floors, but I think it's a good thing. We prefer to have our rugs down. easier to keep tidy and we don't have to worry about moisture. The rugs dry in minutes.

    👍Nice episode. The 270 awning and the wall kit ranks at the top of my likes when it's pouring rain. What was the name/location of the campsite when y'all were near Smyrna? Looked like a nice spot. I always go for pull-thru sites. I'm terrible at backing the trailer.

    • @skywaystohighways
      @skywaystohighways  7 місяців тому

      Thank you @retnav92 ! That awning is the GOAT! Hoping to upgrade the wall kit next season. It would be nice to have more light and air circulation. That spot is a Corp of engineers spot that we stayed at a couple times, now. It's nice and peaceful.

      Backing in is definitely a thorn in the side. Lol! We'll figure it out...eventually!

      @@skywaystohighways Thanks for the info on the campground site. Backing: now that I finally have the Ark wheeled tongue jack, if a site is paved, I can disconnect and push the Hiker in :) . As far as COE campgrounds, if you're going through KY, checkout COE Wax Campground (Wax, Ky). It's ~45-60 minutes from Mammoth Cave. Hard-packed gravel sites, and clean restrooms/shower bldgs. C Loop has the more level spots, and some pull-thrus. Water/electricity mostly on the back-in sites. A & B loops are hilly. Marina and restaurant across the road from camp entrance.
