I'm an American, and I find it amazing that no matter what comes out of Baron's mouth, it seems incredibly smart based solely on his accent... I can be explaining Einstein's Theory of Relativity, but I'd sound like a complete moron because of my accent...
Favorite video that I've watched so far. Got bored & started re-watching your old videos. I actually enjoy your philosophical tidbits. Quite funny & equally true.
Baron i found you 4 days ago and i watched all of your 86 videos in this 4 days. You are f*cking awesome man. I loved to watch your vlogs. Keep this up man!
I'm massively using modern technologies. So I'm glad that I'm still not the kind of person who needs a blackout to get the idea of picking up a good book for a change. It's amazing that there are even books out there which taught me quite a lot about proper bike riding techniques. It's obvious how one could profit massively from printed words of wisdom and yet so few actually do. But that's just how our first world society works. Regarding the acpocalypse scenario: not only did all great, old empires disappear, also "modern mankind" was having wars over the last couple of hundreds years almost on a regular basis. Big wars always acted like some sort of reset button for countries' economies and the people had to stick together to rebuild and start all over again. I'm convinced that World War 3 is NOT going to happen. Still the financial rulers of the world think our economy/economic growth needs to keep on getting bigger and bigger. Soon we'll face problems which we did not have to face before. More and more people, also in our "privileged" countries are struggling to afford their lives and satisfy their daily needs while very few get richer and richer. We've seen people rioting in the streets in European countries like Greece, Bosnia or right now in the Ukraine. I think we'll have the same situations in our countries as well sooner or later. I think it won't be that apocalyptic but there will be some sort of "big bang" happening on the streets because at some point hopefully the so-called 99% is going to realize that it is in their hands to actually change the system we have right now. A system of turbo capitalism and an evergrowing gap between the poor and the rich. Just like you "welcome" an apocalypse I welcome a scenario like this. Bring it on, I'll be the first to throw a big pile of shit into the first corrupt bank manager's face I come across. But I'm not welcoming this for the sake of vandalism and violence. Rather because Austria is a very wealthy nation. The wealth has fucked with a lot of people's heads and they turned themselves into egocentric bastards. And from every country where "the shit is going down" you can hear stories about a never seen before form of solidarity between people. Because "tough" situations let them realize that living gets easier when you decide to stick together. Just like back in the stone ages, we'll realize that we need to stick together and share if we all want to have better lifes or even simply survive in the end.
SuperSneakyOwl The 99% are sheep programmed by television, advertising, facebook and other shit. They will never rise against the 1%...look closely to what`s happening in Ukraine..or what happened in every country the U.S> invaded...the 1%does whatever they want and that ain`t gonna change soon. Apart from that scenario though there are like 27553 possible "apocalipses" waiting to happen..and one of those will eventually happen...so I hope you know how to grow your own vegetables, have a basic understanding of hunting and using to the fullest what gain has to offer. Good day
This is why I want to move even further up the hill and build gun emplacements - so when you lot flee the city and want my vegetables, I can fend you off!
Damn it Baron, no sooner had I watched your video this morning before we had a power cut lasting all morning! If I see 4 horsemen today i'm going to be bloody worried, double bloody worried in fact!
BBQ for winter emergencies! Haha! I once stayed in a longhouse village in Borneo, no electricity and the food they ate was whatever they could get from the rainforest/their crops that day. Everyone eating and living as a proper community. The mind fuck moment was, as I was leaving I saw one of the teenagers with an acoustic guitar, playing Nirvana?! Oh, and if we have a zombie invasion, I'll live on a boat. I'm yet to see a zombie swim.
Completely agree about the anticipation being the exciting bit. I get so excited over the anticipation of the weekend that Thursday is my favourite day of the week. The weekend is inevitably shite, but hey, at least its not mid-bloody week and there's no work.
***** A dyslexic complained that they didn't find it funny, to which the response was: Probably because you read it as "A dyslexic man walks into a bar..." (Before the haters pile in, I'm lexdyxic too so I've got carte blanche!)
I was driving to work yesterday from Englefield Green to Sunbury and saw the woman in the front of me had one of your BVG stickers on her boot. Your fans are everywhere!
Don't say "outages" - we don't have "outages" - we have 'Power Cuts' and we're proud of them. Remember we are not American, we are not Bruce Springsteen, we are Bruce Forsythe ... and proud!!
Great video. Often contemplate the same thing. Having power cuts can bring you back to what's important in life and you do realise how dependent we are as a species on the knowledge of a very small few. I agree, the simpler times are often the better ones. Criminal that you hadn't read a book in ten years though! If you choose to do it again I have recommendations.
Really Funny. Love seeing the local towns and London. Im in Atlanta so we had some big rain and tornados and stuff. Problem with tornados is they give you a week to freak out about it. To much lead time. I bought 400$ worth of survival stuff and never got the bad weather Cheers. thanks for the videos.
Mate, you're so Jaded:p Of course Summer will be awesome, you just know it! Loving this little bit of Sunshine, Spring hasn't Sprung but it's close...So close ;-)
Yeh, i was in Montreal when the ice storms took out all the power.Watching people panic and hearing on the news people lining up for food from the only places open. Others having to sleep in sports hall, which created problems-over loaded toilet systems,a few fights. It was like watching civilization break down. This is from a Country that prides itself as being able to handle extreme weather. What did i do??, when the power cut hit my place, i cooked food on the log fire- baked potatoes yum yum!!
Wow really? Pretty good quality. Thanks Baron. Just a shame that I bought the Gopro 3 and about a million bucks worth of extras like a week before the Drift cams came to South Africa. Really enjoyed your euro trip. Inspired me to ride down to the Cape from Johannesburg in december for my matric vacation with my 08 cbr600rr. Already bought the little touring screen (amazing...) and a tank bag. It's not as far as your trip but it's a start...
I like the idea that a lot of the people in the US have about living in home made houses and powered purely by the sun and a small generator. I'd love to do something like that in the future, just as long as your apocalypse doesn't come along and wipe us all out. The weather here in the UK has been terrible so far and it's only February!! I really hope we get a proper summer this year, not a wet and horible one like what we've had in recent years.
Keanu Lornoy haaa, amazing eh?! Yeah, bloody touring version! i actually wanted the race version of course - still, should provide a few giggles/talkoftheapocalypse...
Great vid. You make valid points. Our civilization all hinges on the drug war farce and fossil fuels being around indefinitely. And FaceSchmuck. I'd miss bikes after an apocalypse. All that open road.
If sometimes communication would fail people would talk to each other again. Instead of talking with whatsapp etc. And we will look up and see the world instead of our 10 inch phone-screen. A little back to basics. I love it when i'm abroad and don't have mobile internet.
BaronVonGrumble - Did you perhaps read "Dante's Inferno" while you were out of the grid? If not, you'd really love that book! :) Thank you for your great videos!

Energy wise, nuclear fusion seems so slowly be progressing forward. Other renewable energies are also progressing rapidly in their efficiency. Food wise GM has huge potential, if only the public eye would see it as a benefit to humanity rather than some mutant apocalypse inducing way of making food. Nations need to become self-sustainable, producing their own food, energy etc. The only real problem I see in the near future is to do with rare-earth minerals used in much of today's technology. There's not a lot out there which can substitute for them and so once it's gone, well hipsters ain't gonna have the new iPhone. But then again technological advancements might make us able to produce substitute materials. Science always finds a way...problem is it takes time and funding. Don't be so negative and pessimistic y'all..
Sitting in the line for a ferry, killing data watching baron. I put the bloody phone down and read zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance at the 5:28 mark. YAY BOOKS
You certainly are a funny fucker listening to your shit always makes my day a little better this video has given me an idea to buy a survival book I've been wanting to do that for ages keep up the good work

I've got one of those cellars too, except there's no Baked Beans... and it's not a cellar.
So it's just a stash of porno?
It's not so much a stash as it is a mountain.
"The anticipation of summer" Exactly!
Baron i found you 4 days ago and i watched all of your 86 videos in this 4 days. You are f*cking awesome man. I loved to watch your vlogs. Keep this up man!

maybe because he's part of the 9.9% who still don't know how to use the new comment system?! ;)
This is why I want to move even further up the hill and build gun emplacements - so when you lot flee the city and want my vegetables, I can fend you off!
Wow that started off really positive, talking about spring coming & I really wasn't expecting that topic to be the outcome!
Been on an old baron binge in the current day apocalypse and there was some really unusual content for a motorcyclist. Quite like it though
Me too... Coronavirus strongly resonates with this
We had a 3 day power outage just before christmas. Most peaceful 3 days I've had for at least 10 years. Loved it.
Damn it Baron, no sooner had I watched your video this morning before we had a power cut lasting all morning! If I see 4 horsemen today i'm going to be bloody worried, double bloody worried in fact!
More theories Baron! entertaining stuff! Baron von Scholarly.
Seriously, I loved this video.
I just wished you have more time to make more awesome videos. Thank you for the awesome entertainment and your time! Cali boy from U.S.A
The teleporting bloke at 6:01 ! That's simply bloody amazing and awesome!!!

Cheers Baron! Now I know what to buy my elderly mother for those cold winter's.

Spat jam sandwich over my screen, Thx.
You're welcome. I wish I could see this work of art that I've created by proxy.

It's never a mistake to spend 10 minutes watching a Baron video. Thanks bud. I laughed.
If your power goes again, read the Ranulph Fiennes autobiography. You will realise how soft us modern blokes are.

Porn mags are a MUST, apocalypse or not...
Bring on the apocalypse, but please leave my bike :))
is Baron telling Klaus Schwab what the grand plan is??
"Bring on the apocalypse" is definitely something that Alan Partridge would say.
I could imagine a post-apocalyptic baron, Mad Baron searching for the lost orange lucozade paha
Same here. Except I sacrificed the beans, to make room for more mags. I won't last long, but I'll be spent and smiling...
From yay its almost spring to the end of the world in 9 minutes bugger me are you Bi-Polar ? ..
great stuff as always Baron....
dyslexics Rule, KO.
Got my BVG fix. I will miss this when the apocalypse comes.
To quote George Carlin. The planet is fine, we're fucked. Will shake us off like ants. :)
Lovely video as always!
Congratulations on "winning" (:p) the KTM 1290R for the summer, i expect we will see many a video from you on that bike soon?
Amazing video as always!
“I NEED TO MAN THE FCK UP!……….so I had an interesting experience” 😂

I can just picture it now: Baron Von Mad Max - with chronic flatulence and hermit crab arm :D
My mum walked in as you said "I've got a cellar with loads of baked beans and porno mags in it"
I experienced a similar productivity boost due to the power being out but about 10 mins. In it came back on and I youtubed for 4
Great vid. You make valid points. Our civilization all hinges on the drug war farce and fossil fuels being around indefinitely. And FaceSchmuck. I'd miss bikes after an apocalypse. All that open road.

You sound happy Baron! apart from the apocalypse stuff... great vid!
More apocalypse please.Great steaming piles of human bean waste on the edges of little farmsteads and a shortage of non crispy socks.
Great video i couldn't agree more.

Great vid for the "Big Thoughts" :-)
LOL - the comment on surviving via a cellar with Baked Beans and Porno mags.
The best video you have ever made .. Actually makes sense aswell cause we are fuckin idiots tht spend most of our times fucking the internet and electricity. Love you Baron.. ❤️

Jeebus .... were you reading World War Z :D
Baron Von Harbinger of Doom.
I did a stint offshore (searching for oil ... long story) and was without TV for a month.
Interrupting the stream of bullshit tv banalty of was one of the best things that I've experienced :)
Reckon I'd try and haul up in the cathedral in my city.
