Mike, the radio arrived a day early so I was stoked. Top shelf service to go along with a superb radio. This makes the 3rd radio purchased from you so I had no doubt it would be just as good as always. Thank you sir!
I bought Two ! Loved them ! Sadly, as one was sitting turned on, but not connected to an antenna, I fortunately was sitting in front of the radio, and began to smell a strange odor ! Then I seen a whisp of smoke coming out of the Quad Six ! I immediately turned off the radio, and power supply it was connected to ! I have no idea why this occured, but upon removing the covers, I discovered the Positive lead had apparently become hot enough to melt the insulation on the wire ! Not sure, but the area around the Positive lead, on the PCB is charred ! Plus the cover shows evidence with black soot ! Maybe evidence that there was actually a Fire ? And again, this was just sitting turned on, in receive if you will, not transmitting ! And had been turned on for some time, and had not been transmitting for several hours ! Has anyone else experienced this ? As stated in this video, these radios run extremely Hot when transmitting ! Hotter than any modern solid state radio I have ever had ! This seemed like some thermal runaway involving the Positive lead only ? Caveat emptor, don't leave them unattended ! And if used mobile, I think I would disconnect the power cord, while not in service ! Just Say'n !
So honestly 6666 og vs a pro as buying a new one is the pro Def worth it? I want a great radio? Also the radioditty qt80 is about the same as a pro.. Can thatbdead key he turned down lown to run an amplifier

If your rig can't run full power without overheating it's time to find another rig.

What would be a good radio for a trucker that wants a good power radio but knows nothing about all these new fancy ones?
Anytone Ares II or Radioddity QT40 come to mind.
@@ScottsRadios I should be more specific, I would like echo and it needs to fit in overhead console
@@stevec2569 Stryker 447 HPC2 is small and great for AM.
Warum ist das Display so schlecht lesbar ? Das alte Display war besser lesbar.
@@ScottsRadioswould i be able to do the cb conversion myself and then run it as is? Or you have to peak and tune it
