Seriously though... Used these at NAB after all my 2.4GHZ wireless mics kept getting interference and these things never dropped signal once. If you're doing weddings and need easy to set up audio that doesn't drop easily, these might be a trustworthy mic system you've been looking for. ============================= Join our Discord Channel💬 ► discord.gg/3aeNPU7GHu Twitter ► twitter.com/frame_voyager Instagram ► instagram.com/framevoyager/ TikTok ► www.tiktok.com/@framevoyager Join our UA-cam channel 📺 ►ua-cam.com/channels/mXGDFnFh95WlZjhwmA5aeQ.htmljoin
Hey man, I'm a Paranormal UA-camr and I'm looking for a good quad mic setup that just has a simple system where I plug the receiver directly into the mic output on my camera, I don't want any special adapters or anything, because I don't have time for all of that.
For the past couple of weeks I've been researching both the DJI and Rode wireless mic systems and have seen complaints with both. I'm definitely going to look into these, thanks for the video!
Glad I watched this before purchasing the DJI mic system. I’ve had problems in the past with wireless mic dropouts and so it’s nice to know why that may have been
The interference is the reason I used the Rode Wireless Go II as a recorder only and recorded scratch audio with the Duo. I had a feeling that was going to be an issue. Glad I opted for that option. I was looking at the more expensive Sony UHF's, but I will definitely have to check this one out as well.
Yeah, I love the interface for the rode wireless go II, but I just have had a lot of issues with audio drop outs. Been looking for something easy that I can trust and this is definitely it. If it had the internal recording too, it would be even better!
Literally myself personally and numerous other videographers have never had dropouts with the Rode system in normal range. If you go beyond 150ft and don’t have line of sight expect issues plus the rode system can record internally to each recorder/transmitter and can be synced right back when plugged in.
I used to have the original Comica Boom XU dual transmitters. I had drop outs 3 feet away constantly once talent would put their transmitters in their pocket or clipped behind their back (running lavaliers). It was very un-reliable. I've been using the DJI's reliably for 4 months now with no interference, and if there ever were, it does internal recording, which is better than the Comica.
Excellent overview. Can you comment on sound quality in comparison to DJI or Rode? I get UHF is more stable - but does it mean better sound quality too?
I used to have the saramonics as well and noticed all of the audio drop outs. Having internal recordings solves all of my problems for me, and on my DJI mic system i can turn trigger them from the receiver. Other things to note I generally dont prefer the audio quality on the UHF, i personally think 2.4 is better and overall i know uhf is more reliable but nothing is more reliable than internal recording and id much rather have that.
These mics might be just what I was looking for! Thanks! Also, just as an FYI, your link for the 4 Transmitter Pack is linked to a Kickstarter for the Revoring Swift Camera Filter.
outdoor content is cool. you should do it more often. and waiting for your short trip with Z9. you nee to make that happen as there only few UA-camrs did review it from Film making prospective.
haha thanks! And yeah, planning on more outside even a couple diving videos here soon. Have been busy with contract work here a lot lately so finally getting a chance to go out into the world again haha
The only problem with these mics that I found was a common issue and happened to me when I bought them. The clip of the back tended to break very easily.
@@FrameVoyager yeah the spring they used for the clip where way stronger the what I believe the plastic hinge is rated for. It might have changed over the years.
I have to say i recently bought 10 zoom f2 which do 32bit float and they are crazy good. The bluetooth file naming is nice too! But this doesnt work for live out.
I've used cheap Uhf wireless systems in the past and those have been as unreliable as a 2.4Ghz system. The lesson I learned from that is to not buy any sub 500 dollar wireless system that doesn't have some form of backup recording.
I just ordered the DJI's but they are back ordered so I can still cancel. I currently have the original Comica Boom XD, but you can't' (at least I can't find a way) lower the input gain to less than 0db, only increase, so I am constantly clipping as I work in noisy environments. I assume the X-U version resolved that? BTW, great review!
Hey! And yeah, from what I could tell there is a lot more level control of these. We were at NAB the whole time in really noisy environments and nothing ever clipped on me. So didn't really note it in the video because it didn't seem to be an issue for me. and appreciate it!
I'm a complete audio newbie! I would like to get the audio recorded to PC (if I were to purchase). Can I do so with USB or maybe even SD card? Perhaps an adapter of some sort is needed? Any help is appreciated!
Is it possible to split the 4 mics to the receiver then split them into the BMPCC6kpro with mic A and B into one mini XLR import and mic C and D into the other mini XLR import?
Unfortunately, the Blackmagic camera inputs are not stereo so you only get a left and a right input signal. So they'd end up getting mixed up. You could still run all 4 but the signals would end up mixed. Even if you used a mixer and ran it back still now way to record 4 separate audio tracks on the BMPCC6K
Sorry but I'm still trying to understand the BM6k Pro and this devise. Would I be able to run just two mics to the receiver and split them at the camera with the mini XLR inputs? Or would they still get mixed? I haven't purched audio for this camera yet and I'm trying to make a right move forward. I appreciate your time and the effort you've graciously put into your channel.
@@collincotterell995 no technically you could run them left and right off of one input. In the audio setting just set both left and right channels to the same Mini XLR or 3.5mm Jack you plugged them into. That should do it
Yeahhh, that's what it says but we didn't notice it being that long when we got back to edit. We thought it was kind of odd to have that much of a delay noted
The difference between an audio guy and a video guy 😂 From my perspective it's nice to have 4 but how many situations will you be using them in like that? Audio guys just sees MORE AUDIO lol
😂 same! But that's the space I'd put them in. I wouldn't use these for say a high end client just like I wouldn't use a ride wireless go for that either
Well I would definitely lapel them and no use the internal mic, though there are a couple ways you could do it. But it's much smaller than any other wireless mic setup. But it's going to do better than a ride wireless go would cutting through clothing.
But yeah, wouldn't use this for any serious high end client work. Just like I wouldn't use a rode wireless go for any serious client work either. But that's the category it's in

No problem! Yeah, not saying that you shouldn't go DJI or RODE but these are def. ones to consider as well.
Glad I watched this before purchasing the DJI mic system. I’ve had problems in the past with wireless mic dropouts and so it’s nice to know why that may have been
Nothing wrong with those systems! But yeah, this mic set won't drop out as easily as those do

Interesting... I'll have to do some test to see how that hypothesis works out between Audio quality UHF or 2.4GHZ
Only thing I wish these had, is the Sennheiser locking connector so I could use my higher end lapel mics.
Agreed!

Wow! I wasn’t aware of these! Instant buy
Looks great ! But i prefer my DJI mic…
The only problem with these mics that I found was a common issue and happened to me when I bought them. The clip of the back tended to break very easily.
Interesting. Yeah, I've yet to have any problems with them and I've traveled a good bit. But I could see that maybe as an issue.

For me it's "don't buy it for something you're getting paid for" 😂 but these have been great on the road for quick things here and there

Would I need something like a Scarlett 4i4 to plug it to a computer?
How do you record the audio, does it have to record to a camera or does the receiver have recording features??
Excellent video✅👍
Oh I assumed it was a higher frequency not a lower one as it says UHF and I guessed that meant ultra high frequency 😅😅
Are this mics 16bit or 24? Also, how is the latency? Thanks. 🙏

Guy #2: The DJI only has 2 channels, lol

the RODE wireless GO is not exactly a high bar 😂. I owned a pair of them…briefly.
😂 same! But that's the space I'd put them in. I wouldn't use these for say a high end client just like I wouldn't use a ride wireless go for that either
2022 and we still talking about using DJI products? Smh...
Explain please?
kinda ugly and large, no..? can't imagine strapping these to bride/groom, let alone any interview for a serious client.

Have you seen Senheisser packs? They're twice the size.
