I bought the same laptop and a protective plastic case, but I'm afraid to put on the case because I think it will scratch the laptop. Can you see if the plastic case really scratches the edges of the laptop or not?😊
personally i don't see any scratches on my laptop at all from the case that i bought, maybe it might be different for different laptops and different cases but for me, not as of now :)
Hi! I would recommend against getting a plastic case for your macbook as the screen is very thin and the pressure from the case can ruin it according to many reports, and that’s a risk you do not wanna take with a $1,000+ laptop. Plastic covers are also known to cause heating issues since the whole laptop acts as a heat transfer system, and a plastic case is essentially choking the thing. I do recommend getting a soft padded sleeve for your laptop and clean regularly with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a microfibre towel! Bonus tip: Do not use a screen protector on your mac as it can damage the anti-reflective coating on your screen. It’s also important to know that you shouldn’t use anything that will go in between your screen and the keyboard (e.g. camera covers, keyboard protectors, etc.), as the keyboard and screen close very tightly together and it may damage the screen.
@@linda409 What pressure is being put on the screen by a plastic case? It's not as if she's going to be putting a heavy textbook on top of her laptop or anything. I've had a plastic case on my old Macbook for years and have had no issues.
@@jaebeommie It's a very tight squeeze with a hardshell plastic case and the thin design with the newer m1/m2 MacBook airs especially. There have been multiple accounts of hardshell plastic cases ruining the display. Plastic cases also can trap a lot of dust buildup if left for a long period of time, which can scratch up the finish of the mac itself. It's ideal to just get a sleeve for your mac to prolong its life
@@jaebeommie Not to mention, the whole laptop itself is also a heat dissipation assembly, so using a plastic hardshell case can make the laptop actually run hotter than normal
