WHAT ARE NEIGHBOURHOODS IN LOME, TOGO LIKE? | HOUSES IN TOGO, WEST AFRICA 🇹🇬
If you have been curious about what kind of houses are in Togo you may find this video helpful and informative. In this video, I will take you around the various neighbourhoods and homes in Lome, Togo. We will explore Adidogome, Baguida and then Sogbositto. They had some beautiful homes within different budgets.
So this is what Cité Mokpokpo neighbourhood looks like. Its very quiet and well organised and it had some beautiful homes as well.
According to housing finance africa.org, Cité Mokpokpo is a project launched by the Government of Togo, in partnership with private investors. The project is still under development with plans to deliver 1 000 social housing units. The project will be completed as a public private partnership with a number of Ivorian real estate operators as well as banks. Partner banks will offer mortgage loans over a 15 to 20-year term at a 7.75 percent interest rate, with no down payment required. The housing units
will cost between CFA seven million and CFA 17 million (between US$12, 187 and US$29 596) and are exclusively targeted at civil servants. The project, which is partly located in Adidogome in the north-western part of Lomé, will comprise 420 villas and 120 apartments. The project is well under way as you can see in this video and some of the homes were already occupied during our tour. Also, there was security at the entrance to this community making it feel really safe there. Most of the homes had extra security at the front of their houses.
Cite Boad : This was my absolute favourite neighbourhood in Togo amongst all the neighbourhoods I explored. Its is located in an area called Baguida on the east coast of Lome. Which is just a few minutes drive from the beach.
The streets were well ordered, and I loved that there were plants within and around most homes in the community.
Apparently this project commenced in 2014 and was completed in 2017.
The residential program was put together by the West African development bank, with the objective of housing all the staff of its headquarters (based in Lomé). The housing project was put together to allow staff members to acquire housing there.
The homes in this neighbourhood range from
28 million to 77 million CFA francs (about 45,730 usd to 125 935usd ).
The Cité has 134 housing units and a leisure centre, open to outsiders [security is provided by guards at the entrance].
The purchase of houses is reserved for West African development bank employees only but home owners here are allowed to rent their homes out.

In Togo that is how we often build our houses,it's not that there's insecurity but it's just that we are very protective of our enviromments

Roads culverts in Accra will be choked with plastics and filth in less than a month after its commissioning. Some thinks will just not work in Ghana. As one UA-camr said anything goes in Accra. There is much more orderliness in the French countries as compared to the English speaking African countries. I am Ghanaian

them houses cheap as hell compared to america wth am i still doing here... houses here are 350,000 the least and thats the run down ones if you want fairly nice definetly 770,000+
Is it that dangerous that high walls and guard huts are needed ? Or is it that the public security force is unable to protect residents? The high walls dont allow communities to knit its just a neighborhood.
High walls in West Africa are really not about security. They're for privacy as people tend to always want to keep their business from outsiders

Please forgive my strange question, but is loadshedding and high internet costs a part of most African countries?
I can’t speak for every country but in Ghana internet can b expensive. Load shedding is not as frequent as it used to be though x
In Senegal for instance loadshedding is not commonplace and internet is quite affordable. I use about 30 dollars for monthly unlimited high debit and 6 dollars for my bundle with my Phone😊.
However i know in some countries such as Ivory coast and Togo, internet is freaking expensive. Don't know wether or not effort had been made about it.
Internet is very cheap and perfect in Togo.
Most of People use Wi-Fi which is available everywhere. Very cheap.

Very cheap according to you. In west africa , togo is the country where Internet is more expensive.
@@moim5033Most of People in togo are now using WI-FI which is cheap as i said earlier. You can use 2000 CFA ( 3,32 USD) Monthly.
You can but for one week = 500 CFA ( 0.83 USD).
You can even buy for a day= 200 CFA ( 0.33 USD).
WI-FI is everywhere even in the villages...

There is no way these houses cost less than $30,000! Are you sure you filmed in the correct area? These are upper middle class homes and are certainly not typical of what the average Togo citizen lives in .

Are you serious ? You call this prison houses, with tall garden walls and wire meshes on top, living homes ? Why someone would like to buy a private prison ? And not to mention the dirty streets. In Europe our gardens are open and beautiful in front of our houses. No thanks. I don't want to live in such a neighborhood.

There's nothing attractive about these homes or the community. It's pretty dam boring..why do they fence everything in. Is there a lot of crime?
Not at all but People are afraid of burglers in francophone west africa.
