Thank you for doing it slow! You wouldn't believe how many cadets get this wrong because people go to fast! Such a simple knot but sometimes they get confused. Thank you.
So I’ve been trying to dissect this knot and make my simplest but correct way to tie. And I swear your way is the same damn knot. This is exactly what I’ve come up with. I wonder if the exact correct way creates a stronger knot or not. And if so is it something stupid like 2kn stronger. Which I’m fine with this method.
@@Josh92SA It most certainly is not correct. When weighted this will be hard to untie compared to the correct way. ua-cam.com/video/PJkCaUUhqgs/v-deo.html

Best video I’ve seen on this Knot
I like how you just showed me the relevant information and slowed it down
Here's how to tie a figure of 8:
U make a head
U strangle the head
And u poke the head in the eye
And there you have it a figure of 8
Awesome thanks!

Amazing
Cool idea with the video, but incorrect FoEoaB
i love you
What's a bight?
A curve which doesn't cross (that would be a loop). Look up Great Australian Bight, might help you out.
so basicly a simple knot from a bite makes a figure 8
Tencinu.
*Why do you do that to your finger nails? That has to hurt! Do you use a Dremel?*
Am I tripping or is this just an overhand knot
I'm tripping this just looks goofy with paracord
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brooooooo whaaaaattt happppeneeeeeeeed
thumb down for the unnecessary annoying music. those are the rules, knotty 🙇♂️
This is how figure 8 knots are tied incorrectly. The first loop of the standing end should be on the outside, not the inside.
If that were the case, it wouldn't have been able to dress correctly at the end. This is right.

@@Josh92SA Sorry, just thought I'd point out that they didn't actually dress it correctly.
That makes no sense. Just flip it over and it's on the inside.
As far as dressing, it needs to be much tighter but overall the correct tie
@@dakotaclement7751 top loop and bottom loop need to be flipped over. This is a fail in my class.
wrong knot!
No that’s a figure 8 it’s just tied in a different way
Tied.
Incorrectly dressed.
Not set.
Fail.
Wrong. Slightly...
That is not on a bight.
Yes it is
Oh course it is! This way, you do not feed any end of the rope through the knot, therefore both the ends could be of any length.
Wow.. it's the worst figure 8 I've saw in my all 10 years of experience . Looks like crap.. don't publish it on a cmc channel..
