The tip about using a bigger seam allowance on loose sweater knits is a good one! I've been sewing for years, but haven't done loose knits yet. I'll have to try it.

You are such a fabulous teacher, Karina! I love all your practical tips, especially the preventative tips before the garment construction even begins. I am also a fan of the singing birdies. My location here in North Carolina is on the flyway for a few feathered-friend melodies, but not as many as in past decades. Thanks for all your hard work!

Hello Karina. I found you about 2 weeks ago and I'm so glad I did. I've been sewing for years but have never had good understanding of certain methods of putting garments together until watching you. You are a great teacher with such enthusiasm I can't help but watch everyone of your videos. I really enjoyed the FBA video. You hit every important point about making the adjustments that I finally got it! 💡💡💡. Thank you for your time to teach sewing.

Excellent tips for sweater knits. I have a very open weave knit, and I’m so afraid to sew it! I thought using the 4 thread serger was the answer. Now I understand that it might be better to sew it on my machine. I have a little extra so I think I will be trying some seams and different stitch lengths. Thank you for this very helpful video.

Do you have any more advice for stretchy sweater knit that keeps fraying?
I bought a beautiful drapey wool knit (medium to slightly thick), but even serged seams keep fraying with the fabric coming loose underneath the serger threads.
Tried searching everywhere for advice but couldn't find anything specific for this problem :(

You can try wrapping the raw edge with bias tape. That way there’s a larger section protected inside the bias tape.

Hi Karina, This is totally unrelated to your very good tutorial, but I´m crazy for accents. I noticed you said you live in Brazil, but your accent is 0% Brazilian. I thought closer to New Zealand / South Africa or something like that. Would love to know where your fabulous accent is from!

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles

Lol I’m crazy for accents too. I’m from Chile and live in Brazil but I learnt English in Australia when I was a child. I also lived in the USA and then New Zealand 😂. So my accent is a weird mix.
