I would not exactly call this technical progress, it's a radio controlled watch, which have been around since the early 2000's (Junghans), and it has a 24 hour 'GMT' subregister, which has been around even longer. Same thing with the solar charging, that's technology from the late 1990's.
The slide rule bezel, well, that's from the 1950's (Breitling Navitimer). I doubt they're used much anymore, professional pilots carry an iPad these days.

By no means did we want to imply that this Citizen is something new and/or groundbreaking. Rather, we wanted to highlight the contrast between a modern Eco-Drive and a mechanical watch. There's a safe bet people not interested in watches that much do not realise how the tech has progressed since the general quartz watch back in the 80'. Thank you for your comment, it made our story clearer.

Which it was 40mm, otherwise it's a cool looking watch.

We couldn't find the L2L measurement for this watch. However, we have found it to be 49 mm for a Promaster Skyhawk, which is also listed as 46 mm in case diameter. With 49 mm L2L it's doable for a 16,5+ cm wrist circumference, albeit it will be a big boy. At the end of the day, a watch with shorter lugs and big diameter is more wearable than any small watch with long lugs. Look at any Nomos 38 mm or Longines Spirit 40 mm - those will make you cry ;)

Citizen with an MSRP of around $900? I think not.

As per rule, we list RRP/MSRP for the baseline. Clearly, this watch is already available about 30% cheaper at JDM watch dealers like Sakura or even Chrono24 (as new).

@@ashocck8065 zales just had a 40% off sale on this watch. Went down to $556 on the silver one.
