    Great catch Jacob and thanks; you are absolutely right. That dimension is ok; it is supposed to indicate the width of the window, which is 6" (without the inner window sill), the problem is that is misplaced. The one that is wrong is the 3" for the sill, which is supposed to be 4". Also the one that indicates 1" should be 2". Most likely what happened is that I used the wrong drawing for the video without noticing. I'll make sure to indicate it in the video. Thanks again for the help and regards

    Hello,
    Thanks a lot for your comment. Both extension lines are pointing at the upper part so it should add up to 8'. The reason for the bottom dimensions is to indicate the measurements of the 3 sections of the window. Most likely you don't see it right due to the resolution. Try looking at the highest resolution since it was recorded in HD and let me know if you still can't see it. On the other hand it has a real typo in a dimension was carried over from the others with the smallest window.

    This is so useful, thank you for all the time you put into this. It's really helped me catch up because last time I used CAD was 4yrs ago.

    Great video tutorials! Learned a tremendous amount so far.
    I think there may be a typo in your dimensions when you show the dimensions for all 4 windows at once: the smallest window in the lower left, the 6" dimension looks (visually, please correct me if I'm wrong) like it should be 4". Looks like the 6" might be carried over from the other windows dimensions.
    Thanks again! Great videos.

    Yes Sir, in Cad you'll have plenty predetermined blocks to work with. That's going to be explained in the next video, but is important to know how to do it because in most cases you'll need to do your own library of blocks to reuse in the drawings. Hope this helps and best regards

    I use it, although not too often. It is not my specialty, so I don't see myself doing it. But one thing is important. Before going into MEP you need to learn the basics of CAD, otherwise you won't be able to use it properly.
    Best regards

    First of all thank you. Im have a big project and no idea about CAD so ur tutarial is a great help. I could only wish it was more than 13 ep. as i need to learn quick . Anyways keep up the good work. Now, about the video : the dimesions for the 2nd window cant be right 8' long the top edge and then the bottom one is 2'+4'+2' =8' again ? Impossible considering we take off 1/2" each side , unless i dont see that right.

    i'm following this drawing plan to a t, it is a great help and i love this program , one thing i would like is a to see is how you drew the windows from the start , if possible. thanks in advance

    • @easycad4you
      @easycad4you  10 років тому

      Hello.
      With the dimensions for the windows is simple to draw them. The tricky part is turn them into blocks which is the purpose of the video. I skipped that part due to the time and assuming it should be simple to do at this point. I'll try to go back to do it once the series is done.
      Hope this helps

    If you don't mind me asking .. is the exact placing of the windows critical for the upcoming videos .. or is it something I can workout later ..??

    • @easycad4you
      @easycad4you  10 років тому

      You can do it later on. It is not a critical part.

    how do you resolve insertion scale. when block object is too large from your drawing

    • @easycad4you
      @easycad4you  9 років тому

      nicolas jr nikcool You have two options, one is specifying it at the moment of inserting the block. The other option is scaling it down after the insertion. Another tip is that if the block is too large you can always modify it to the appropriate size, for this you can refer to video 12 of this series that I'm putting here: ua-cam.com/video/1qI-hWk9gUUH/v-deo.htmlope this helps and all the best.

      Thanks for asking.
      You have them all in the video. Just pause it and make a screen shot when the clip shows or use it as a reference.
