    Not necessarily, Tutorial 13 and on will focus on how to create Dimension styles, text styles and how to work with paper space in order for you to finish your work by means of plotting or printing. So, I'm pretty sure you will find the rest pretty applicable and necessary.
    My best regards and thanks for all your comments and support.

    Hello,
    Yes, tutorial # 12 will be released in a couple of days and after we are done with the 2D, the same residential project we are creating will be the base for a 3D series on Cad.
    Best regards

    The fastest way is this (at least for me):
    1- Use command "explode" and select the blocks. It will turn it back to what it was, Ex: lines or Plines, etc.
    2- Move all the elements of the windows to layer 0 and make sure 0 is the current layer.
    3- Use the windows to create blocks again.
    4- Now the blocks should accept the properties of the layer you move them to.
    Please post back and let me know if that solve your issue.
    Best regards

    Great series! Looks like this may be where we part ways - I've been following along using AutoCAD for Mac, which does not include Tool Palettes (from this tutorial) or DesignCenter (from next tutorial). Thanks for all the help!

    Hello,
    If you want to keep the meters, just "scale" the blocks to the size you want. Use command scale, enter the scale factor (numbers less than 1 like 0.3 or 0.8 will decrease the size of the object; bigger than 1 like 2 or 3 will increase the size) and follow the prompts. It shouldn't be complicated, it seems to me this is the fastest way for you. Let us know if you need anything else.

    Hi, thank you for the tutorials - very helpful! Question: I have autoCad for Mac. I've been able to adapt the tutorials so far, but the palettes with all the content (such as the toilet) are nowhere to be found. Do you know if they exist in this (Mac) version?

    Hi Andro,
    Go to the previous video: Learning AutoCAD 2013 tutorial #10: Creating and Using Blocks. There you have a thorough explanation on how to create a window or any other block. Please post back if I can do something else for you.
    Regards.

    First of all I really like this presentation
    all I need, I do not have command box on the screen. I see on your screen at the bottom, how will I appear it? thanks

  • @easycad4you
    @easycad4you  11 років тому

    Ok, that should have worked but if you want to follow that method I explained, just tell me exactly what you did. The other think you can do is make sure to create the windows from scratch in layer 0 and then create there the blocks. After that you can move the blocks to the layer you prefer. Let me know if it works.

    Hello,
    I genuinely appreciate all you do. After selecting the windows to be included under the "Windows" layer, the color has not changed from white to yellow even after adjusting the Color Properties to By Layer. Is there anything I can do to correct this?
    Thank You

    Place other objects in the layer and see if the color change to yellow, Ex: try with a line or circle, etc. If that's the case, what happen is that as i explained in "tutorial 10" you have to create blocks in the default layer 0 and then you can move it to any other layer. If you created the "window blocks" in any layer other than zero it will not change properties to the layer you later move it to. Please post back to see if this is the case and I'll tell you how to correct it.

    hello,
    In autocad 2013 video tutorial # 11 about Palettes and Layers, your topic about insertion of toilet object you have the option there "SELECT TOILET TYPE AND VIEW TO DISPLAY. In my autocad 2013 I have no option like this so I could not change the object to a desired view which is the top view.

    • @easycad4you
      @easycad4you  10 років тому

      Are you using Autocad LT?

    • @albertotan4206
      @albertotan4206 10 років тому

      easycad4you There is no word "LT" in my Autocad, its only Autocad 2013 written in the welcome screen. So my version is not AUTOCAD LT 2013.

    hello sir, i created the layer named windows and follow all the steps that you have done. i selected all the windows then clicked on the layer window that i created, the problem is none of the windows changed the color, they are all white but once you click on them, they will show the color of the layer on the layers menu panel .

    • @easycad4you
      @easycad4you  10 років тому

      Hi Nancy,
      If all of them are blocks (I'm assuming they are) they will keep the properties you assigned to it when you created them. So in that case an option should be to modify their settings to show the color of the layer they are assigned to. Notice on the right, on my properties panel it is set to show the color "By layer" that is something has to be assigned to blocks at the moment of creation. Otherwise they will only show their own properties regardless of the layer they are assigned to. Please let me know if this helps, in cad we have tons of possible reasons for every issue.
      Regards

      hello sir,
      on the properties panel it is set to show the color "By layer" which i set it to red, which is still the color assigned to the layer.... once you click on these blocks the color on the panel says they are all red but they remain white...
